I ordered the “Steel Force WC7224 7-1/4 Inch 24T with 5/8 Inch Arbor TCT Circular Saw Blade for Wood Cutting (24T)” to review and to use on my old Craftsman Circular Saw. I like how well it fits my saw as well as its cutting ability. I’ve used saw blades like this for years since I do not cut very much so I cannot speak to longevity. This type of saw blade is perfect for basic construction cuts with basic building lumber. 4-stars. I mounted this blade on a 20V cordless circular saw. A few test cuts proved the blade to be true and sharp. 24-teeth is about right for most of my usage. I will say, the saw does not appear to be “contractor quality”, BUT if like me, an occasional DIY’er, you’ll get your money’s worth. At $8, you can easily purchase 2 or 3 blades, and still spend less than most single blades cost that might last you longer! Due to the price point and my anticipated usage, I’m hoping they (Steel Force) make other blades (more or less teeth, kerf size, etc.) that I might be able to purchase. The carbide tooth construction should help to extend the useful life of the blades. Again, it’s $8… how can you really go wrong?

Although I have not cut with it yet, I thought I would go ahead and give my impression of the blade from observation. First, the blade is of comparable thickness to name brand blades. The teeth appear to be well-set on the blade and are very sharp. Turning the blade on a mandrel shows that there is no warpage, and the blade does not appear to be out of round. From all appearances the blade seems to be as good as the name brand blade that is currently on my saw. That blade still has some life left in it, so it will be a little while before I need to install this one. But, once I begin cutting with this blade I will give an update if it does not perform as expected. If it cuts well (and lasts), I will come back and upgrade to five stars.

The blade cuts as it should and cuts about as well as any other blade in the same price range. Not sure about the durability of the blade because I have only used it over the weekend. It does seem to still have a good cutting edge after using it numerous times. I would recommend to any weekend carpenter or handy person looking for a decent blade at a fair price.
