Overall a great product and better than plastic spacers. Nail/screw pattern makes for a nice uniformed look when complete. I did have to modify them for using on wood. The 1/8th spacer side is much shorter than the 3/16th side and has very little engagement on the rounded corners of 5/4 boards. Using a grinder and removing the stamped feature (bump) on the 3/16 side made both sides 1/8th and makes for full engagement along board depth. (See photos). There is no such thing as a straight board so these and a couple board benders are a must for a nice looking finished product. 5 stars if product came with the same length on both the 1/8 and 3/16 sides and didn’t need modification. ... show more

I used these installing a pressure treated wood deck. I bought separate spacers as I needed like 8 per board but I used this to make sure my screws were all lined up nice a neatly. It worked perfectly. Recommend buying.

I bought three of these and found them to be incredibly valuable in putting down deck boards - especially if working by yourself. No need to snap a chalk line to mark the joists, just move these spacers down the boards as you go. Great when paired with a board-bending tool. Another reviewer has mentioned that the flanges on the wood side of the tool are a little too short - and I agree. It was workable, but if these flanges were lengthened a bit, it would make these spacers even better. ... show more

These are amazing for spacing your decks floor boards. There are other ways but being metal they dont deform over time for perfect spacing. The best part about them is they have holes to place the screws that are evenly spaced. No trying to align you screws by eye. I bought three of them because we were using 16 foot boards so that we could place one at each end and one in the middle.
