Description

A Stearns Infant Classic Series Vest helps protect little swimmers at the beach or on the boat. The US Coast Guard-approved design is specially-fitted for infants under 30 lbs. A rescue handle allows adults to easily move the infant from the water or the boat, and it has one adjustable chest belt, a zipper and an adjustable leg strap for a tight and secure fit. Durable nylon construction and PE flotation foam, along with webbed straps, will allow you to use it season after season.

We bought this for our 14 month old, who has not spent anytime in the water. As soon as we put her in the lake the life vest put her right on her back and there she floated safely. She didn't care for floating on her back as she wanted to see what everyone was doing but it did its job. We took her out on the water 2 other times and she loved it. My daughter weighs 14 lbs and is small for her age. We were able to tighten the vest to fit snug and give her support. The vest did come up a little high when she sat down on the paddle board, and so we pulled it down the best we could. Someone a little taller would fit a little better, but its not made for sitting its for floating. It made us feel confident to have her on the water with us knowing the vest worked. It's a relief to have a life vest that fits our toddler well and helps keep her safe. We use it when canoeing, tubing, and even at the beach. She doesn't always love wearing it, but she knows it's part of going on an adventure!

This life jacket feels quality and I trust it for my little one. It has two buckles, on between the legs to keep baby from slipping out the bottom and one around the abdomen to keep the jacket snug. The zipper is plastic so although it works well, I could see the potential for breaking down with continued use. The part behind babies head is large and would keep them safe if needed, but as a result it's really bulky for baby when on dry land. We used this life jacket for boating and baby needed to wear the jacket the entire time she was on the boat per the law, and she was very frustrated by the limitations to her mobility. Jacket would ride up and limit her ability to turn her head if she sat down, so she needed to be standing to be mildly comfortable. It was very challenging for her to nurse while wearing this. As far as safety goes, I believe this life jacket would do the job, although I hope to never be in the situation to test it. In terms of comfort out of the water, it's a bit too bulky to be comfortable. Child in photo is 10 mo, about 21 lbs ... show more

My 2 year old is extra extra tiny, he hated the other baby life jacket we had. So we thought this one would be better for him. And it totally was. He had no problem wearing it. It’s more suited for toddler than baby. He was 20lbs on his 2nd birthday and the size height of 15-18 month old. Fit perfect and can be adjusted as he grows. My daughter has a fear of water, but is trying not to teach that to her children.
