  • Perfect fit on my Meade scope
I was playing with this this weekend as we had great weather for moonspotting. As expected, the additional optics in line do reduce the light transmission slightly, but not enough to affect imaging of the moon. The unit fit my Meade Mak scope perfectly and I had no problems attaching the eye pieces to it, and the metal tube seems to be well made. Sadly, Saturn and Jupiter were unavailable during my scope time, so I didn't get a chance to try it with more distant targets. I have not had time to attach my camera to it yet, so I cannot attest to the T-ring connection just yet, but I will try to update this later on this summer. ... show more

  • Nice Barlow.
Doubles the magnification of 1 1/4" telescope eyepieces. Interesting feature is that it has threads for a T ring, so you can also use it to mount a camera to your telescope. I have not used this camera function, but for visual work, the Barlow works just fine.

  • Decent 2X Barlow for for 1.25" Telescope - see photos
This is a decent 2X Barlow for for 1.25" Telescope. I tried it on my 2000mm Celestron C8 telescope. It fitted correctly to the eyepiece, it has a screw contact instead of a vise closure adjustment that is more convenient. But photos are worth hundred words. I shot the first scene, about 1 mile away, without the Barlow. The second shot is with the X2 Barlow added to the eyepiece. Sorry for the quality, photo is shot with my phone instead of a mounted SLR camera. I think the quality is fine for its price. ... show more

  • Good construction 2x Barlow
The whole thing has a pretty nice heft / feel compared to the half-plastic one I have originally. There are 4 segments of precision milled aluminum, with the lens being contained in the first lower segment. The parts are milled to a good tight tolerance and fit together well. The quality of material and assembly look good, and should last for a long time. (There is no need to disassemble for use, I just wanted to see the quality of construction and assembly) I can't comment much as to the caliber of quality of the lens, as I'm not a lens guy, but to my eyes, it seems good. (better than the 2x I have been using) ... show more

  • Does the Job, but Cheaply Made
It does what a Barlow is supposed to do, and seems to be of decent quality optically speaking. However, it's VERY light and plasticky and has a cheap feel to it. Also dinged one star for only having a set-screw instead of a compression ring to hold your eyepiece in place. If cost is your only concern it's not a bad way to go, but personally, I would spend more to get a higher-quality Barlow. Remember, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. ... show more

  • Very happy with this addition
This fits perfectly on my M42 T-Ring adapter for my Canon T6. My moon filter adapter fits perfectly as well. I've only had one good night so far to view with this Barlow lens. I'm looking forward to getting more time with this lens for viewing and astrophotography. I didn't notice any field distortion with my 8" Orion reflector telescope. I had some issues with my SLR so ended up only taking a few photos with my phone. Viewing was a very pleasant experience as well with this lens. This lens has a great feel and look. It consists of 3 pieces that all fit together very well. In addition, the fit of the T-Ring and connection to the telescope of no "play". I'm very happy with the quality of this lens for the price. ... show more

  • Quality feel, works well with our telescope.
Firstly, I am a backyard astronomer and by no means a professional. My kids and I have a mid-grade telescope that we use leisurely in the backyard on clear nights to explore the features of the moon and planets. This Barlow lens fit our telescope well and did improve the image quality nicely. I have not tested out the camera attachment with my SLR just yet, but I am excited to give it a try in the near future! I would definitely recommend this to any other backyard astronomer looking for an cheap and easy upgrade to their setup! ... show more

  • All metal construction good optics impressive value
At this price range I was not expecting such a good produce, the all metal construction surprised me. I got it to use on my guide scope to tighten up my tracking and it worked great for that, so I put in a few eye pieces on my 80mm ED scope and the views were spot on so I moved it to my 8” SCT and was totally impressed. This is the second item I have gotten from Starboosa and have been impressed with both, this is up coming company that offers good products at great prices, I feel comfortable buying any product from them. ... show more
