My wife joined the trend and asked for a Stanley cup. Although they seem to be a bit pricey, it’s the details that matter most and where your money really goes. The construction of this cup is perfect. It is sealed at the bottom much like a Yeti. Speaking of Yeti, this cup meets or exceeds the Yeti standard. The handle, although it’s massive, is ergonomic and useful. The handle is also attached with set-screws, so if it does get a little loose, an Allen key with make quick work of the screw. Insulation is also fantastic. I have not performed any formal testing, but I’ve found my wife’s cup next to the bed a day after she had it and the ice is still very much intact. I would say that it’s a combo of the insulation and the screw top lid that contributes to its effectiveness. Something else to consider: I hate hand washing dishes. I have an aversion that runs very deep. I am not sure where it came from; maybe not having a dishwasher for so long or when I was a bartender and constantly had to wash glassware, anyways; if I can’t put my cups in the dishwasher, I don’t want them. All the cheap knock-off brands are all hand wash-only and I’m over it. Selfishly, that’s why I will pay extra for a name brand; I demand dishwasher-safe everything and Stanley meets that criteria. Pros: keeps ice forever, looks cool, set screws for handle, *dishwasher safe* Cons: it is a little pricey and it’s heavy. There is no way around it, but you do burn a few extra calories holding it, so maybe it’s a wash on the weight? I love my Stanley cup! I’ve used it every day since buying. I place ice inside my cup at 5am and by the time I get off work at 3 the ice barely melted at all! Drinks stay cold all day!
