After going through a few "leak-proof" containers, this one finally does what it says it does. I teach a Sunday school class and since I do a lot of talking, it's nice to be able to take a swig or two during class. I was putting my drinking containers in my tote bag only to arrive at church with the bottom of my bag, and books, damp from spillage. I finally got tired of trying different ways to keep them upright for the drive to church to include putting a car's cup holder in my back to try and stabilize it. I finally had enough and searched on Amazon. This one came up with glowing reviews. I'm not crazy about the color but it was available for immediate shipment so I got it in time for that Sunday. Of course the first thing I did was to fill it with water, secure the lid, and then proceeded to give it the inverted test. Not a drop. No seepage, no weepage, nothing. Just as dry as when it came out of the packing. I've been using it for a couple of months now and I test it every time before I put it in my tote and it passes the leak test every time. The lid's mechanism is easy to disassemble and clean but make sure you put it back together correctly or you can forget the "no leak" claim! (Don't ask me how I know this! LOL) I'm teasing. You'll know immediately if it didn't go back together correctly as the plunger button won't seat. It's a well-designed mechanism and should last for quite a while. Since I'm only gone for a few hours, I can't comment on how long it keeps beverages cold, but there's no discernible warming for the time I use it. I'm confident it's thermal claims are reasonable. The design of the spout is likewise well thought out so that even while riding in a car, if you're careful you won't spill all over yourself. It doesn't mean you can't, but the deep U-shaped area around the plunder allows you to make a good seal with your mouth so that it won't run out the sides--assuming you're prudent with the angle of the cannister. If you want something to hold your drink that you can put in a backpack without worrying about spillage, this should do the trick. Enjoy. ... show more

I have not seen, or had, this much trigger action satisfaction since my last Clint Eastwood movie. The colors are far from anything Smith&Wesson would come up with, but it holds coffe hotter longer than anybody could ever ask for. The grip and smooth surface along with the well molded mouth piece makes for an otherwordly drinking experience. The build quality leaves burly lumberjacks and nurses slack jawed and it is only the cleaning process that can take away a little of the fun, unless you just stick it in the dishwasher or in the hands of your trusty maid. It has a really great variety of colors that will suit almost anybody no matter how bad taste they have and the 20 oz size is making me believe that it was designed to go in a car. I have been using Stanley mugs long before they became popular. I never bought because it was stylish but I buy because of the quality and the lifetime warranty. I have had some of their products which had a design flaw and the handle broke off. I called them and they immediately sent me a new one. They stand behind their products and that is why I only buy Stanley. As to this particular mug, I have two of these which I use as my daily coffee mug to take to work. The solid construction has not disappointed. I have dropped these many time, one has a dent but that is my fault. It still works and works perfectly. I can't say that my coffee stays hot for 4 hours because I always finish my drink before the time. I can say that my coffee is hot from start to finish. I like the no spill lid and it is easy clean. You will not be disappointed if you buy Stanley. I hope with their new popularity that quality doesn't degrade but knowing that their lifetime warranty is there, I would never hesitate to buy more of their products. ... show more
