  • Just Works
worked perfectly I need to raise my recliner to prepare for a knee and hip replacement. I may remove them after I have healed

  • Mostly good...
They did stop my recliner from sliding. However, they didn't raise it as much as I'd hoped. They helped a bit to make it easier to get up after hip surgery. They fit just fine on a LazyBoy.

  • Works great for a tall person after hip surgery
The risers work as intended. Makes it easier to get out of my recliner. The included rocker stops didn't stay attached very long.

  • Perfect to raise the recliner
I’m a month out from knee replacement and doing all I can to get ready. I have a La-z-boy and these increased the height by 2”. You need to have a recliner with the long skinny WOODEN base legs. Very easy to install and these are made of heavy duty plastic. I recommend having two drills with you if possible since it makes installation much easier. One to predrill the holes (I used 3/32”) and one to drive in the screws with. Put a towel under your work so that when you drop one of these small screws, you can find it. Pop off the plastic glides on the bottom of the runners and save these. Predrill all the outside screws on the feet first and make sure you get those screwed all the way in. Then do the bottom screws. You can flip the recliner on its “stomach” to do those. My driver/drills fit into the cavities with no issue. They come with very grippy black rubber feet but I couldn’t scoot the chair at all! So I put felt glide dots on the feet. Turn it back up, sit in it and test it out. If you think you need the rocker stops, instructions are vague but it’s pretty easy to figure out. I used the double stick Velcro provided to place them all the way to the back to prevent any rocking. That way if I decide I want just a bit of rocking, I can move the Velcro around before I screw the rubber stops into place. Later on, if I don’t want these on, they are easily removed. ... show more

  • Works as described
Now that my hip replacement surgery will be delayed and I am spending most of my days in my Lazy Boy recliner, I was finding it harder and harder to stand up. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance even though some reviews said the plastic pieces were hollow and looked flimsy. Stander manufactures many products designed to assist mobility, and the package included a brochure. This product is also sold at Bed Bath and Beyond, so I hope probably no major product defect issues. With my limited mobility, I had my handyman install. After installing the four brown pieces I sat in the recliner and he adjusted the white tabs to control the front chair dip. As you move the tabs from the rear of the chair towards the front you adjust how much the chair dips to the floor when you stand. I stood a few times until we found the right position for me. So now using for 24 hours. Much easier to stand up. Will post a future review if it breaks. ... show more

  • Will it PROVE to hold up? TIPS.
Just bought this and installed today. Yes...the description DID say plastic but I am uncertain about this being durable. Time will tell. One thing that has me concerned is that I am only able to use 2 screws PER riser. The other two screw holes are not lined up in a way that the screws would actually reach wood. This makes it VERY important to NOT "SLIDE" side-to-side as there are just 2 screws holding each riser "foot" on. I suppose if I had the time I could clamp and screw/glue on and extra piece of wood, but not time for that now. For YOU, consider doing that, bet you'll be happy you did. (I might do this modification in the future but for now...it works--just gonna be gentle with it.) Here are some tips to share: 1) as mentioned above...you might want to "augment" the thickness of your recliner pedestal to make it just a tad thicker so you can engage all 4 screws on each "foot". 2) A PICK or nail or some such will be helpful in marking and starting the screws. It doesn't take much but it helps--everyone has there own favorite way to do this. 3) The instructions are a bit confusing. The first direction is about the velcro strips. DO NOT DO THIS FIRST. It's not necessary to do this first and once you get the "feet" on and can poke around under the chair you can "dry fit" try out the rubber bumpers BEFORE you get involved in trying to figure from pictures and directions how this goes together. The bumpers LOOK the same, but THEY ARE NOT. There is a right and a left...and thankfully this is marked ON THE DIRECTIONS. Turn the pieces around in your hands a few times and you will figure it out. Final comment? The screws in my package? HIGH QUALITY...self tapping. I didn't need to get out the POWER TOOLS...screwed in easily with hand tools. Would I recommend it? Might have to get back to you--so far, so good. Right now I'm pretty happy with the difference it makes in sitting and standing. Will they endure? Hope so, in which case I'll buy again for my next chair. It seems all so well thought out...except for the misaligned bottom screw holes. ... show more
