Earlier this year I upgraded my home office desk to one that offered more shelves for storage. At the same time though, I sacrificed actual desktop space because it's shallower than my old one. In addition to that, I had a triple monitor stand that clamped to the desk. Since the new desktop was shallower, that meant the monitors were that much closer to me, and it wasn't very comfortable to work. I removed the monitor stand and went back to the original stands, but now the monitors sat too low. I tried one of those 3 pieces shelves found here, but not only where they really poor quality and didn't fit together well, but they were only 3" tall and did not provide any additional desktop space. Then along came the Stand Steady 55" Clamp On Desk. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for! It moved the monitors up to the perfect height and really gave me back some much needed space! If I had one complaint, it's the mounting clamps. Specifically, the "cup" size. Instead of being a round cup, it's rectangular and is longer than the clamp is deep. That means you're limited to how it can be rotated as it actually hits the frame of the clamp. In my case, due to the framing of my desk, that prevented me from moving the shelf all the way over to the right by about an inch or so. That's not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to have the shelf pushed up flush against the rest of my desk. ... show more

It is very sturdy and only uses 2 clamps so I don't have any in the middle getting in the way. I also have a 34" curved monitor clamped to it with no problems. The only downside is that there are supporting metal brackets that run underneath the length of the riser, so clamping large brackets like a monitor bracket might be problematic. ... show more

Perfect solution for what I needed. Now I can place my keyboard and other stuff on the tabe without it taking too much space. The platform is very sturdy and well designed to save as much space as possible. Seems like it can handle a good amount of weight as the legs that hold it up and connect to the table seems very sturdy. No sign of dipping in the middle, the platform also has a metal brace on the bottom that reinforces it for more security. It is also quite deep and you have the option to mount it in a way where part of it sticks out behind the table which means you technically get a deeper workstation overall which is absolutely sensational that sold me right away. I had to return my first shelf because it was cracked in half and when the second shelf arrived there was a chip in the corner. It was easy to assemble, it is very sturdy but I was disappointed that I had to receive two separate shelves and neither one of them were in good condition. Very sturdy design. Only a few minutes to install (not including taking down and restoring my desk, of course). Nice that are two options for mounting. I kind of wish there was a bit more room underneath. There are stiffening bars underneath, which is a good thing, but they take up some of the under-shelf room. An adjustable height design (or at least spacers) would increase utility, IMO. All that said, it has definitely given me some options on how I set up my studio desk, and I already have more on it with less apparent clutter (for the moment anyway!). ... show more
