  • Worth every dollar and then some. Perfect beginners guitar or for travel.
Color: Olympic White Style: Stratocaster
This Squire is surprisingly excellent!! I've owned & owe other Strats in the past including a Epi LP (which I still have and enjoy), but this very inexpensive guitar is better than I honestly thought it would be. I had my expectations low for such a low cost guitar, but after viewing some YouTube vids and the current discount cost (Black Friday deals etc.), I figure I'd give it a try and after doing my own set up on it (which wasn't much from the factory settings), this this is fantastic for what it is. Pros: - Neck is super easy to play on; not too chunky, (the slim "C"-shape is perfect). - Frets were spot on with no sharp ends or frets that needed smoothing. - Tuners were fine and don't see any need to replace them anytime soon. - Bridge was made well and easy to set the intonation (which wasn't off on mine) and set the action (which was a little high for my tastes). Also the bridge on this one is a 2 point and not 6 screw (great upgrade from the older ones). I also set my bridge flush to the body as well. - Body is light and yes it's thinner than normal strat body's, but totally ok for its sounds and price point. - Pickups are a little hot as to be expected, but work just fine (an upgrade to Alnico's later on will be better. however no rush). It's also excellent you get a tone adjustment knob for the bridge pickup. - Overall fit and finish are excellent, truly more than I expect on a Squire and guitar at this price point. - Great guitar to mod on later if needed. Cons: (being nit-picky) - Pickup selector is a cheaper 5-way switch, but that can be easily replace with a better one later on if really needed. - Sure, change the strings to something better. - Poplar body lacks the warmth of other woods of course, but I honestly have no issues, however some might not care for this brighter and lighter type wood. It's not my Epi LP with a Mahogany body, but this Strat is super light and easy to carry around. ... show more

  • great for the price
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Stratocaster
Played pretty well out of the box, It needed a little set up done. The neck was slightly curved causing the string height to be higher than my personal taste. Once I had that resolved (easy to do BTW!) I just lowered the string height individually and done! The sound is better than expected and excellent sustain. I would recommend this to everyone! ... show more

  • Amazing
Color: Olympic White Style: Stratocaster
As with every Guitar minor adjustments to get the way I want. Neck was perfect. Tuned up and lowered string after installing a set of Rev. Willy's Mexican Lottery 07/38 Billy Gibson string's, played for about a hour and actually better than my much more expensive guitars. Fender squire Stratocoaster guitar has similar sound and quality to my Eric Clapton signature Guitar. At 1/5 the price I can live with 1 less fret, I don't use anyway. Bought as a guitar for company to use but, not so sure if I will just Play this and let them play my Other Guitars. Absolutely blown away by a non American guitar sounding and playing so good. Its not my Gibson but. Will likely be 3rd favorite. ... show more

  • Much better in 2022, (2 point trem)
Color: Olympic White Style: Stratocaster
As the title says, a 2 point trem And it's a rock god send. With proper setup and elimination of all points of friction by ~90% ( it is possible on this one) Tuning and staying that way is a breeze...

  • Incredible value for the money
Color: Olympic White Style: Stratocaster
I bought this as a "boat guitar", fully expecting it to be a pile of junk, but I'm really surprised at how good it looks, plays, and sounds. I have 22 American-made guitars, 6 are Stratocasters, so it's not like I'm comparing it to other junk guitars. It's obviously not as good as a USA strat, but for the money, I'm really impressed! Some obvious differences: the neck seems to be of a pretty, but slightly softer maple. It feels essentially unfinished. The tuners are good, but not great. The pickups are really hot, maybe too hot. But honestly not bad at all. Of course, I haven't put it through the pace, and usually cheap guitars have electrical issues; that's unknown at this point. However, my first impressions are VERY good! Well worth the money. I wouldn't use it in the studio or play out with it, but it's perfect for practicing and I would definitely recommend it to a beginner. I'm very impressed!! ... show more
