I’ve been playing bass since the 70’s and bought this little Squier because it was on sale for less than $200 (it had a chip in the finish). Wow! I love this little thing! I had big plans to mod it with pickups, tuners, and bridge, but I ended up keeping it 100% stock. I feels great out of the box and has the undefinable “feel” of a quality instrument. I guess Squier really HAS upped their game! On it’s own it’s fairly muddy, but with some liberally applied EQ it turns in to a snarling monster. Kind of a John Entwistle vibe. Guaranteed to annoy your guitar player. Wasn’t sure about the “medium scale”, but it turns out to be fine. I usually have trouble with short scale basses. Highly recommended. ... show more

Arrived well packaged and in perfect brand-new condition. Was fully set up and ready to play out of the box. The neck is straight, frets have no sharp edges, and the medium scale length is incredibly comfortable. The humbucker sounds great, but is definitely pretty dark sounding.
