I do my at home physical therapy exercises twice a week. There are certain leg lifts I do that require ankle weights rather than bands to maximize the movement. Using these ankle weights truly help with strengthening the muscles you are trying to target. Adding/Removing the individual sandbags are fairly easy. And it’s a great way to determine how much stronger you’re getting. When I first started out I was using 2 sandbags per ankle weight. At some point it started getting easier for me. So I added a third sandbag to add more resistance. I feel I’m working a bit harder now using 3 sandbags per ankle weight. As I build more strength I still have 2 more sandbags left per ankle weight. Which is great and will maximize my use in time. Each individual sandbag is suppose to weigh 1lb, but there is a possibility of it being off by a fraction of ounces. I noticed this when weighing the individual sandbags. This is not big deal to me seeing they still serve its purpose. The Velcro straps are stitched in so well that it feels sturdy while securing/removing the ankle weights. During any motion of leg raises the ankle weights stay in place. They feel very secure and aren’t distracting me by shifting around. They allow me to focus on my leg movement without having to worry about adjusting the ankle weights. I tend to sweat a lot and use ankle compression sleeves underneath these ankle weights. Simply cos I don’t want sweat being absorbed in the material risking a smell later. I am sure you can go through the motions of hand wiping the ankle weights and letting them air out. It’s just easier for me to avoid the trouble of doing that using my compression ankle socks instead. I highly recommend these ankle weights to anyone wanting to add more resistance strength training to their leg lifts.

To adjust the weight, you add or remove little "sandbags" from fold-over pouches that are distributed around the weights. Wanting to start my exercises on the lower side of effort, I had to remove some bags. Wow, it took me a few minutes to wrestle them out, as the fold-over openings are too tight. I expect it will be even harder to stuff them back in! However, thankfully, I don't expect to do that frequently. But, if for some reason you think YOUR uses will require frequent weight changes, make you should look elsewhere. That aside, they are well constructed and work as expected. PS, if you remove weights try to distribute the missing ones around the circumference. Not one-two-three-blank-blank, but one-blank-two-blank, etc.

I used these weights to rehabilitate from a tibia reconstruction surgery. They are comfortable, adjustable, and easy to use. They are designed and manufactured well and I anticipate they will hold up well over time.

Great addition to my glute training, I’m able to do kickbacks with these at home! I get a great glute pump with resistance band too. 10lbs on each ankle is perfect but you can easily lower the weight with the great removable bags! They strap well and can easily be washed! Highly recommend adding these to your home gym and routines!

I am going to leave my original review as I still believe a design change would make this product more user friendly, but I do want to compliment the seller as, after they read my review, they offered me a full refund because I had difficulties using their product. I consider this the sign of an ethical, caring business. They proved they are a great company. Original review: I bought these because I liked the idea that I could change how much they weighed, and the videos made it look like the weight bags were easy to remove and put back in, but I admit I really struggled to remove the bags. Ended up using a pair of pliers to grab hold of them which enabled me to finally get the tops of the bags out of the slots. Since I wanted to start with three pounds in both, I had to get 4 of the bags out. Out of curiosity, I did make an attempt to put one of the bags back in, but I gave up before I succeeded. I do have some arthritis in my hands and my grip is not that strong, but I do feel the design could be changed to make the process a lot easier, such as making the top a flap so that one could just flip the flap up and grab the top of the bag. I believe this company does make a different set which has loops on the ends of the bags so they can just be pulled out, but that set did not have the weights I wanted. I also worried because the Velcro was so strong I wondered if I would be able to pull it apart. Once I got it open the first time, it seemed like it got a bit easier to pull apart. Once you put these on, you will have no worries that they will come off before you take them off. I obviously am not the strongest person — hence the acquisition of exercise equipment to try to improve — but I do think the design could be changed just slightly to make the product more user friendly. I chose these to be able to change the weights, but I doubt if I ever will.

I needed these for some rehab. They work well, although the weight bags are some difficult to slip in and out of the pockets. OTOH, they won’t fall out! These have a nice soft feel to the fabric and easily fit my large ankles
