I was able to drive a very scared kitty 1000 miles in this carrier in the back seat of my Subaru. She started to get the hang of it after awhile. Mostly slept once she gave up on me letting her out. lol I was able to fit a little kitty travel cat box in it, along with a rubber spill-proof water bowl (also sold on Amazon), some treats, a blanket and tiny ramakin of dry food. The carrier took up 2/3 of my backseat without hitting the back of my front seats. There are loops that allow you to secure it with your seatbelts, similar to a car seat for a child. That is a great feature. Doesn't slide around. You could easily fit two big cats in here if you were going a short distance and didn't need the travel cat box. The only thing that I wish it had was a handle on the top, but it's not that big of a deal. You can just grab it by the edges. It helps if you have two people since it's collapsible and doesn't have a firm structure to it. If your main use is just making sure the kitties aren't loose in the car and keeping them in a safe situation, this is perfect. ... show more

I can’t give this product 5 stars just because the only way to get your cat in is with the car door open and if your cat is like mine and wants to escape or likes treats while in the car driving there isn’t an easy way to do that. However, I bought this carrier for my cat for a 16 hour car ride. Not only did she do great on the drive she had plenty of space to sprawl out and be comfortable. I purchased a small litter pan just in case she needed to go and my cat still had enough space in the carrier plus a small scratching board. I highly recommend a small scratching post or board if your cat likes to claw at the netting it can be a good alternative. The carrier is super easy to install in the car. You can use the straps it comes with to go around the back head rests and I looped the bottom straps through the seat belts. I should also note this carrier took up my whole back beat (3 seats across). ... show more

Just recently moved cross country (FL - WA) and had to find a way to bring our cat who isn't really used to being in cars. Found this and it was perfect! We put this in the very back seat in the van which fit perfectly. We got a travel litter box and kept that in one of the corners and kept food and water in the other side and she was content for the week and a half we had to be on the road. We also had a travel backpack to bring her inside with us when need be, but for the most part she got to have her space in the back and it was soo much less stressful for her this way! ... show more

My cats travel with me to the beach, the mountains, you name it. I used to take a cheap hard side litter box for road trips and the condo, but I wondered how the cleanliness factor would hold up. No worries necessary!! Two trips ago, I needed a soft side that could easily fold up and travel small. I packed this in my cats’ carry on with a gallon ziplock of litter to get through security. After that, I just scooped the litter, zipped it all up, and toted it right along. It worked perfectly well for what I needed it for. We used this carrier for the move from Texas to Utah. It worked great! You can fit a disposable litter box and a small bed in it. It is flimsy and not easy to carry with the litter box/cat/bed inside, but for the actual traveling itself, it works great! While this was easy to use and assemble, it didn’t exactly fit in my Explorer. I put it in the third row since I have captains seats in the middle and it was on the cup holder edges so putting the cats in and out was difficult. It was not easy to get in and out with my animals in it, I have 3 cats. I wish it had a hard bottom to aid in getting them in and out safely. This is just what I need for my pets. We travel in an RV with a Shihtzu and Bengal cat. Both are great on a leash, but we wanted a way to confine them in an emergency. This kennel is light, folds compactly, and is tough. This is just what we wanted for our travels. It is set up in our living room right now and they both go in it spontaneously. This did a lot to improve traveling with our cat! I put a towel on top, hanging over the ends a bit, so he couldn’t see out of the rear windows, and it helped calm him further! He liked being able to make eye contact with me when I turned around, and being able to move around a bit. It gives your cat(s) the whole backseat! Really a great idea. ... show more
