  • Spine-Worx and Lumber Extender Review
first of all im 21 years old and im a pretty athletic person. But there are still things i do that puts soem stress on my spine. so take a moment and read about soem things that happens to me and how i use Lumber Extender adn Spine-Worx. I put these two things on my bed [beside me, (not like lying on it all night) i have a bigger bed than i need]. when i wake up in the morning i start using these thing becasue thats when your bones are looser and muscles are more relaxe so theres not tension. i cant tell you some obvious change but i do feel more confortable about my spine. i went to spine doctor couple of times because my mid-bak was uncomfortable (from sitting in front of the piano and computer quite often). he said my back was too straight for leaning forward too much. soemtimes i got this really unconfortable feelings on my back knowing that the mid section is pushing and sticking out a bit. but after using this thing, i got a lot less back problmes the more i use it. i do think that this does help me. i also bought "Spine-Worx Back Realigment Devise" and i like it too. i used to turn to my sides, left and right, to stretch and crack my back and always make noises and have soething crack and snap into place wheni do that. but after using the Lumber Extender and Spine-Worx combination together, my back doenst make as much cracks anymore because it just feels more in place. The material is great! very confortable rubber against yoru back. i suggest wearing less so you can really feel the track and line up your spine The only improvement that i want to suggest to Spine-Worx is that it lacks curve. its not pronounced enough. Sometiems i have extended use of my right hand more, and vise versa. And my upper back just right under teh neck goes a littel out of place because it just feels like it does (by the way many ppls upper back goes out of place, but tehy just dont know. and it can happen simples just by using one hand more than another. For example such as piano, martial art, or extended mouse use on a computer). And i know this because at first i didnt know, but i went to a doctor and he corrected it for me. then whenever i feel that i knwo its my upper-back. Spine-Work and Lumber Extender fix the mid and lower sections of my back pretty well. Lumber Extender condition the curvature and Spine-Worx fixes the allignment. However Lumber Extender was originally designed for lower back, so it has done its job. But Spine-Works runs all along the spine, yet it does not have aggressive enough of a curve, it doenst quite do anything for my upper back (the area between the shoulder blades) simples because it cant get to it. i like both of them but i just wish they Spine-Worx could make some improvements. the only reason that i think they dont exaggerat the curvature is because they intend to make it "on size fit all." ... show more

  • Spineworx a Worthwhile Investment
Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I get intense headaches, and I have noticed that if I get on the spineworx when I feel a headache coming on, I can often keep the headache from intensifying (and sometimes get rid of it all together). Also, my upper back tends to hold a lot of tension, and I find the Spineworx definitely relieves some of that tension and "stretches it out." I start out with a pillow under my head, but I usually remove it after about a minute, as my chiropractor told me that this will help restore the natural curvator in my neck (which I guess is "off"). At any rate, I do prefer it without a pillow under my head, as I can feel it stretching my back more fully. Additionally, I find the Spineworx helps a LOT with my lower back. I have a weak pelvis that likes to "slide out" on my right side. I have been to chiropractors and physical therapists, and while it has helped some for a short while, I've basically been told this is something I am just going to have to live with, as I seem to have weak ligaments holding my pelvis and right hip. But I do find that I get great relief using the Spineworx. In fact, I have found that when I have intense lower-back menstrual cramps, Spineworx relieves them completely within 3-5 minutes! (This is saying a lot, as even high doses of Advil usually only takes the edge off.) On the "weak" side of the Spinworx ... I don't find that the Spinworx does very well with the middle of my back (right between the shoulder blades). I have a specific spot that feels like it is out, and while I have read several reviews where people actually experienced their backs cracking or popping, I haven't been able to accomplish this--and it doesn't feel like it "aligns" that area very well. Maybe I just need more practice and better relaxing. To get the most effect in the shoulder-blade area, I lift my arms so that they are straight up, above my head. Also, I don't find that it helps my neck as much as I would like it to--although Spineworx states upfront that it really isn't designed for the neck, so this really isn't a surprise, just something that would be nice. :) The only thing it does for my neck, as I mentioned earlier, is to stretch it some and help encourage the natural curvator (if I don't use pillow beneath my head). While the Spineworx definitely does not replace a chiropractor or massage therapist (nor does it claim to), I like it enough that I am sure to take it along even when we travel--or should I say *especially* when we travel, as it provides extra back relief from cheap hotel beds and pillows. ... show more
