  • Works like a dream for Brazilians!
Style: Numb520
I was APPALLED at how very tiny this jar is but it had great reviews so I thought I may as well give it a chance. My heart sunk as I remembered the review that instructed to spread it on "like frosting on a cake." I also thought of all the reviews that suggested two coats. Since I was planning on using it to give myself a Brazilian (sugaring, not waxing), I wasn't taking any chances. I imagined that I would use up most of the tiny bottle, considering that I had already made the attempt twice (without numbing cream) and failed miserably. It even occurred to me that I wouldn't be saving all that much (over salon prices) if I couldn't get it all done on the first try and would need to do the whole thing all over again! It works! It works like a miracle! I spread it on, not thick at all but thick enough to make sure it got to the skin (I did trim first but well, you know). I remembered the reviews that said not to rub it in too much, just leave it on the surface, so I did. I couldn't figure out how to cover it with plastic though so I got a large plastic bag (similar to a garbage bag) and cut out leg holes. I wore that for 20 minutes and went to put on another coat. I was already numb! I couldn't feel a thing but even so, I wanted the 2nd coat, hoping it would reach a deeper level and to make sure I was as numb as possible. Again, I put my plastic bag back on and waited until I washed that off about 15 minutes later and was TOTALLY numb! I'm happy to report that I completed the ENTIRE job and barely used about 1/8 of the bottle! I do have a few strays and a couple of small patches left but that's no fault of the numbing cream, sugaring is hard! I could have easily gotten a new glob of sugar and kept going but I figured that was enough for one day (it's not good to keep going over and over the same area) and I'm not afraid anymore! I wouldn't need to numb the whole area to do the rest anyway, just a few patches; in fact, I likely wouldn't need it at all for the small amount left. I was numb for a good 40 minutes after, when the cooling cream I bought for the occasion started to kick in. Now I'm not saying it was pain-free, it was still painful, but a MILLION times better than my first two attempts! I was originally looking for numbing cream for derma-rolling and I wanted to try it on my face first but once I got my sugaring recipe right, I just couldn't wait to get it done! Sorry to write a book here but I just couldn't be happier! It costs about $80 to have a Brazilian sugaring at the salon and I did my own for less than $5! Sure, I could use a few touch-ups, but I'll be doing that in my own time, by myself, for pennies! I spent about $2.50 for the amount of numbing cream I used, a tiny amount of Finipil Lait 50 (antiseptic cream that cools, soothes, moisturizes, protects against infection, reduces ingrown hairs, and according to some reviewers, slows hair regrowth), a small amount of my sugaring mixture (2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup fake lemon juice, 1/4 cup water- simmered until it turns the color of dark ale), one rubber glove from a pack of 10 pairs from the Dollar Tree, and a large Goodwill bag! I WILL be buying this again! I'll update when I get around to derma-rolling for those of you buying this for that purpose but if your intent is having a Brazilian, do it! UPDATE: I never got around to doing those last few little patches (it wasn't a vanity thing, it was a comfort thing and they didn't bother me) but I've redone the whole thing again today. I wondered if two coats were really necessary, or if the plastic was really necessary, but I didn't want to sit around naked to test it so this time I used a Walmart bag to cover my crotch and put on some big granny-panties to hold it in place under my pajama pants. In some places I was nearly numb after 20 minutes, but in others, not so much. I opted for the 2nd coat and repeated the process. I waited almost 20 mins and was pleasantly numb. Sure, it still hurt like hell, but I was able to get through an ENTIRE self-Brazilian sugaring wax! Since the hairs were shorter and hadn't completely grown in yet (it wasn't as thick), I'm almost bare now! I didn't want to keep going over parts that don't matter much (the upper line that always bleeds) so I still have a few strays there but again, that's because of my sugaring method, not this numbing cream. I will DEFINITELY keep buying this! Now that I've figured out a cheap way to do away with pubic hair, I will NEVER go back to the irritation of dealing with it. See my review for Finipil Lait 50 if you're interested in using that in combination with this. ... show more

  • The Golden Rule for 100% Pain-Free Tattoos (Must-Read Prep Steps Inside!)
Style: Numb520
If you are about to get a tough spot tattooed—like the back of the arm and directly over the elbow—save yourself the agony and buy this right now. I couldn’t find any local shops nearby that sold reputable numbing creams, so I took a gamble on Amazon based on the great reviews. It is easily the most affordable option on the market, and the manufacturer usually has coupons right on the page. I went on a whim, and it completely changed my tattoo experience. My artist had to go over my elbow 5 to 6 times because my skin wasn't holding the ink well on the first pass. He has tons of experience and explicitly told me he was shocked I wasn’t tensing up, sweating, or reacting at all. I was literally just sitting there comfortably watching a movie. All I felt was the vibration of the machine—absolutely zero pain and barely any pressure. My body didn't even register it. The label says it kicks in within 20–25 minutes, but if you are getting a tattoo, you need to follow this specific process for maximum strength: • Cake it on: Do not just rub it in like lotion. Slather a thick layer over the entire area, almost like cake frosting (aim for about 2 cm thick). • Wrap it up: Seal it tightly with saran wrap. • Trap the heat: Body heat activates this formula and opens your pores so it can deeply penetrate the skin. Once the saran wrap is on, trap the heat by putting on a jacket, sweatpants, or wrapping a towel around it for the hour. • Let it sit for a full hour: Do not touch it or uncover it until a whole hour has passed right before you start. The jar is on the smaller side, so if you are doing a massive thigh piece or a half-sleeve, just buy two. It is incredibly budget-friendly compared to the overpriced alternatives, and it is 100% worth the investment. 10 out of 10 highly recommend. If you follow the steps and give it a full hour with heat, you won't feel a single thing! ... show more

  • Needle phobia
Style: Numb520
Magical! I have a very extreme needle phobia and need to get bloodwork & a shot. *I have not yet*. I just ran my test at home if the effectiveness. I applied a THICK layer (crook of elbow & upper arm) let it sit 5-10 mins, applied a bit more and put plastic wrap on it and tape around that. That sat for 25 mins. Then I took it off and washed the areas off with water. Now my test! I have a “big ouchies” hedgehog fidget, I also got it on amazon, and I pressed it on my non-numbed arm crook, then my numbed arm crook. The numbed arm, I could feel a little pressure sensation, but the sharp feeling and the pain was gone! Running same test with upper arm was less successful, but also didn’t apply as much there and need to rerun test. I did the same test with pressing a fine tip ball point pen into both non-numbed and numbed areas and the numbness really shined through here. Because it was a smaller surface area, I couldn’t feel much/any real pressure and still no sharp or pain! In the non-numbed arm it did feel very close to the last time I had a blood draw. It is very effective, smells and feels like lotion, after wiping it off with water it doesn’t leave any kind of residue. As described by product, test it out yourself to gauge your personal effectiveness and the timeline of how long it lasts for you BEFORE you use it for intended purpose! This will help you time out your use of it and get best results. Also I have been using it on mosquito bites and it does wonders for them too. They usually drive me insane and itch so badly but after numbing starts in few mins it won’t itch. ... show more

  • worked but did not last
Style: Numb520
It's a mixed bag for me, on one hand the cream did work and it was not super thick and grease-y which helped my artist wipe it off easily. The cream did it's job and took the edge off, I did not feel anything but the big CON was that it did not last too long. Around 2 hours max but started wearing off around the 1.5ish hour mark. My process was as follows...I exfoliated everyday for a week leading up to the tattoo, I shaved at the shop, wiped it off with alcohol and placed a thick layer. I rubbed a thin layer into the skin to make sure it really gets in there and then laid a thick layer on top and saran wrapped it. I let it sit for a about 1hr 15ish mins, making sure to keep it warm so the pores open up. By then it was a slight shade of red but that's pretty normal. I would say when you do a test spot (as with any new cream) keep track of how long it lasts, but minimum let it sit for an hr. ... show more

  • Get it if you’re on the fence
Style: Numb520
I never write reviews. I had to write one for this, I got a large tattoo spanning from under my breast to my hip bone. Some flowers and a bird all extremely detailed and shaded. I applied the cream thick like icing and left it for about 30-40min my tattoo was about 3 hours and I felt NO PAIN. The only pain I felt was in areas I didn’t apply or didn’t apply enough like directly on the bottom side of my breast or out towards my stomach (but that is totally on me) I also have so words that I absolutely didn’t feel. For the area I properly applied the cream I felt nothing at all only vibrations which did not hurt whatsoever. It’s extremely effective please buy it. It was absolutely worth the money and didn’t have an unpleasant smell. ... show more

  • It really helps for tattoo laser removal pain!
Style: Numb520
I'm so excited that this stuff really helped knock down the pain factor on getting some tattoos lasered off! I went to 3 sessions without anything and they kept getting more and more unbearable. Ended up putting my 4th session off for several months bc of the pain. Finally I had the thought to look up numbing cream. Lol I read the reviews for this one and saw where a few used it for laser treatments and got excited but still a little skeptical. You can definitely feel the laser still but, for me, I'd say it was brought back down to the pain level of my first session, if not less! Not sure if all are the same or if this will help someone gauge the pain level, but my first session was done at a "3". Then upped by .5 for every session after. Since there are so many saying how you apply it makes the difference, I thought I'd share how I applied mine. I first covered the area in a wash cloth that was damp from very hot water for about 5 minutes, got it hot again and then another 5 minutes(to supposedly help open your pores to absorb better). Then I rubbed some cream in like lotion, directly on my slightly damp skin(supposedly another factor that helps your skin absorb more). Then I caked on a layer over that so all I could see was white and no tattoo. Then I covered with glad press n seal and taped the edges off with electrical tape. Left it on for about 1.5 hours and took it off at the appointment. 🥳 ... show more

  • Worth it when applied correctly!
Style: Numb520
Getting a full back piece and wrist tattoo removed. Have been able to bear the pain without any numbing cream this far, but now we started kicking up the laser strength. I put this on my back and wrist (not like icing but more like suntan lotion), covered in Saran Wrap for 50 minutes. I definitely didn't put enough on my back, there were parts it helped and parts it did nothing; however, when we did my wrist, I felt no pain at all. My back has a lot of black ink. Next session, I'm going to try leaving it on a lot longer and put a thicker coat on. It definitely helps when applied right. On my wrist, took my pain from a 7 to 1. On my back, took the pain from a 10 to 7 in the spots I didn't cover well, and from a 10 to a 5 in the spots covered well. Can't wait to see how it works for my next removal session. But would reccomend this overall. ... show more
