Spigen is my go-to brand for quality phone cases, so I was happy to find that they still had one available for the Note 9. I was using the phone without a case for a bit after tossing the old one, but it'd always be sliding off the sofa arms; it doesn't anymore with the slight texture and pattern on this case, which gives it a nice grip. I was concerned about the pattern catching gunk too easily, but it still looks new. It also has good scratch resistance, as I'm not gentle with it, and I've run my nails across it various times, because the texture's amusing. The case is super easy to remove, but it's still perfectly fitting and secure. All cutouts are perfectly aligned, and the way that the button cutouts are actually prevent accidental activation, even while propping it up on the buttons - brilliant design. I do somewhat miss the kickstand that the case from Samsung had, but it's so much more streamlined this way in a nice super dark gray that complements the phone well. ... show more

I almost always buy one of these for a new smartphone because it is what I consider to be the quintessential "basic smartphone case". Even if I don't use it all the time, I just like having one. Thanks Spigen. Pros 1. Textured back makes for an easier grip. 2. Doesn't add a ton of weight or bulk to my Note 9 (or any other phone I've used it on). 3. More than enough space for every port. We don't all have skinny 3.5mm cables for our headphones so the extra space there is especially nice. 4. Reasonable price. Ships quick. 5. Doesn't affect the fingerprint scanner (at least not in my experience). 6. Protects screen from putting it face-down on a table. Case is thick enough to have somewhat decent confidence that it'll take a fall. Cons 1. None really. I have no actual issues with this case. It's a good, basic case with a good grip and large enough port openings. I recommend this case to everybody, even if it's just as a "super basic case that protects your all glass phone). ... show more

I actually just purchased another one because I dropped it on a hard surface and it is loose in the case. I dropped it probably five times before needing a replacement, twice on hard surfaces with no damage to my Note 9 phone. Great case. Textured rubber is easy to grip and durable. Inside has ribs for shock absorption. the perfect slim case for daily use. Button cut outs are perfect. Good pen access. Pair with the Encased clip holster and you have excellent protection for your Note 9. This is a no-brainer, slim inexpensive, well designed case or replace your phone for $900. Like I said, I just bought another one. I consider cases like bicycle helmets. Once you wear out the protection you'd better get a new one. ... show more

It's okay. Does what is supposed to. For me at first it seems a bit slippery, and the power button was a bit stiff, but I think after a month if use and breaking it in it feels fine. -1 star as the charging port cover is a bit difficult for me to get opened, have to use something to pry it.

This is exactly what I was looking for: the rounded, air-pocket corners seem plenty robust, and the cover is ultra light and barely thicker than the Galaxy Note 9 itself. The cutout on the back easily lets you use the fingerprint reader, and, as advertised, the diamond pattern in the shell makes it easy to hold. It's thin and light, so durability won't be an issue. The cutouts for all of the buttons and the stylus and the speaker, charging and headphone ports are perfect. One caveat: it only covers the back and edges of the phone, not the screen. However, it feels like the case has a tiny lip around the screen opening that might provide an efficient seal over a clear cover, if you use one. ... show more

    • A slim case that's well designed

This is my second Spigen case. Not much to say about it other than that it's good! No quality issues when I unpacked it. It feels nice and slim, which is important for a phone that's already big. It is still easy to access the fingerprint reader on the back, which is nice. When sitting flat (face down) on a table, the screen doesn't touch the surface of the table, even with a glass screen protector on. This is great design, because it prevents screen scratches! It's less slippery to hold than the Note 9 with no case, but I wouldn't call it grippy either. Overall I'm glad I chose this case. I don't know how it will fare in drops, but I'll update after I accidentally test it out! ... show more

Answer: The Spigen Liquid Air Armor Galaxy Note 9 Case! It looks nice, it is light, it has a good grip, it protects from scratches, it isn't bulky, all the cutouts are in the right place, it fits snugly AND the price is right!!! Here is some more good news, Consumer Reports in their test of the Samsung Galaxy note 9 phone dropped it 100 times on to a concrete floor from 10 feet up and it survived with only "a few minor scratches" according to CR. So I asked myself, how much extra protection do I need with this phone? You have already seen the answer in the first line of this review! It helped a lot to read Consumer Reports ratings BEFORE I purchased this phone now I have a better idea of what I need to be concerned about in buying accessories for the Note 9 ... show more

    • Great case that offers good protection for your phone

The case is great. My other 2 cases didn't have a piece that ran along the bottom of the phone. This caused the phone to pop out twice and crack the screen. After the last time, I quickly ordered this case. I have dropped it a couple times and have noticed no new cracks. A couple of times the S-pen has even popped out. I have definitely learned my lesson and will never get a case unless it is protected on all sides. The texture and grip level is perfect as it has some grip but not too much that you have difficulty getting it in and out of your pants pockets. Overall it's a great case for the money. ... show more
