  • Bigger than other 2x4 tents, more room for activities!!
Size: 55"x28"x80"
I bought this tent because its bigger and taller (28" x 55" x 80") than other 2' x 4' tents. It does not disappoint. There is plenty of head room for a light and inline fan and plenty of floor space for my 3, 5gallon fabric pots with a lot of room to spare as seen in the pictures. The cover fabric is thick and high quality. The seams are well stitched and the zippers are strong an sturdy. There are zero light leaks when fully assembled and all holes are closed. There are plenty of ventilation and utility holes and they are mirrored on both sides of the tent. So your not stuck setting things up one way only. Assembly was easy even for a 1st timer like me with average assembly skills. Assemble the frame, lay it down, unzip the cover completely, lay the cover over the tent, place the corners of the cover over the corners of the frame, zip up the cover completely, orientate the tent so the Spider Farmer logo is on the upper right of the tent and unzip. Easy. *Side Note* This assembly can be done solo but an extra pair of hands when placing the cover and standing up the tent won't hurt. Cons: As great as this tent is and it is great 5 stars for the $$$ and quality, there are some issues. 1. This tent is BIG, if you are planning space for a '2x4' tent this isn't the one you want, as stated before its bigger than 2'x4' and taller than others that I have seen so be aware or have the space before purchasing. 2. I wish there was a better way to secure the door of the cover when its unzipped. There are straps at the top of the tent on the outside and on the door of the tent on the inside and its a bit janky trying to secure the door when its open All that aside this is an amazing tent. 5 out of 5. If you purchase it you will not be disappointed. Great Quality, Easy Assembly, Bigger than other 2x4 tents ... show more

  • Well designed and implemented
Size: 55"x28"x80"
This tent is made with high quality components. The canvas is extra-heavy, the zippers are rugged and have nice pull tabs, and the flexible design options make it very easy to cool and vent the tent as you need it done. The only downside that I have noted is that the door tends to want to roll into the tent (and thus, on to your plants) and you have to manage that each time you open the sizable tent door. On the plus-side, the height is very well considered in the sense that you still have around an inch to clear the tops of standard size door frames - this allows you to move the tent into another room without needing to disassemble it. If you are inclined to do it, you can grow taller plants inside this tent. Somewhere around 52" is the max height I would recommend as this should allow for 14" or so of distance between the light and the top of the tallest plant. The tent is over-sized in all dimensions and is a bit of an odd-size. I stand 6'1" and find it comfortable enough to work inside during the build. Once it was up and running and populated, it is easy enough to reach inside and move plants about. Every few days, I rotate my plant around the light, spinning them a bit as I try to ensure even growth. I use the provided mat along with hard plastic saucers which the plants sit upon. As I rotate the plants, I try to keep both the tent and the saucers clean. This isn't about the tent specifically, but I am tossing this piece of info in because it might be helpful. You are probably going to discover that your potting soil has small, fugus eating flies that will hatch. If you search for 'window fly traps' you will find some clear plastic glue traps. You can stick a couple of these to the walls of the tents and it will do a good job of wiping out the flies. (Your other option is to bake the soil at 300 degrees for 45 minutes before using it, but this may also remove some helpful or friendly soil-living micro-organisms.) ... show more

  • Anyone growing in a clost?
Size: 55"x28"x80"
Spider Farmer 2' x 4' (nominal) 27.5" x 55" x 79" (measured) Sized right for a closet grow area. Features; not especially hard to assemble, I haven't encountered an easy one yet. The pole components were sorted and labeled well. Instructions were straight forward and well illustrated. Except for some paint build up at the ends of a couple of poles that portion of assembly was painless. Fitting the canvas is always a trick. A helper is advised and there is nothing smooth about it. Comparing to three other brands of tents I have assembled this was by far the least effort. Speculating as to why...perhaps the QC was better during assembly process or the designer allowed just a bit of wiggle room on the wall panels? Sturdiness and Value for the money; Once you put it together all tents I own become ridged and can safely support lights, fans, and whatever just fine. The only remaining issue is the ZIPPER. The part of the tent that will determine how long you use that tent. I'm rating the zipper on this an A it may be an A+ but time will tell. I expect that is why this tent cost up to $70-120 more than similar tents. You will use the zipper every time you access your plants. A sturdy zipper comes with a price. Regardless $70 or $209 both will do. With this tent I think it's a one and done and expect a minimum of 10 years of service. Improvements; What do I do with the front panel when the front panel is fully unzipped? The sewn in nylon straps at least provide me with a way to improve the poor performance of this design. I will attach a clasp or carabiner to the panel strap. Given the price I expected better. Upgrade the panel strap with a carabiner and never mind the nylon straps and buckles included for suspending what ever from the ceiling. I'm on the lazy side. When I can I want to do something once and get on with it. Also when I want or need to use something I want it to work. Satisfied with this purchase. ... show more
