I used to be able to buy this spice in the stores, but about 10 years ago no store I could find sold it. It’s needed for a Mirro press Christmas cookie, plus a use it for cranberry orange muffins.

I like all citrus scents and flavors. I make all my own salad dressings and this afternoon I mixed the Spice Islands orange peel with orange/pepper spice and added them to (genuine) olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic, raw egg and anchovy and got an outrageous dressing, good enough to make again, more than once. I previously ordered the McCormick Valencia orange peel and it was kind of stale.. I just assumed it needed to be placed in the dish so it could heat up and the flavors expand. I was hesitant to order this because my recipe calls specifically for Valencia orange peel, but decided to give it a chance. I am so glad I did this brand is so much more vibrant and floral.
