Description

"Like every component in the Spektrum Smart ecosystem, Avian Smart ESCs combine"plug-and-play" simplicity with the ability to communicate with other Smart electronics — together, creating the best-performing RC system for your aircraft imaginable. Avian Smart Air ESCs do much more than regulate power. They function like a virtual engineer inside your model, providing a direct path to the vital operating data you need to reach peak performance. Avian Smart Air ESCs give you an extra layer of confidence that your electronics are all operating at their best. With Avian Smart Air ESCs, you'll be better connected to your aircraft than ever before — without installing extra components that all work independently of each other. You won't need extra wires, modules, or links. An Avian electronic speed control provides a one- wire solution for obtaining telemetry data such as current, voltage, cell balance, temperature and RPM.Avian ESCs not only gather the data but also send it to your transmitter in real time, instead of only storing it for after-run study. You're able to adjust settings as needed to boost performance on the go. The Avian Smart single-wire telemetry solution has been tested for quality and performance by the best brands in RC. Their verdict? Smart technology is both simpler and superior!"

  • Excellent quality, whether you need "smart" features or not.
This is my second Avian ESC and I'm impressed by the sturdiness and they work as they should. I was a long time C****e T***n user, but had some issues, and their design hasn't changed in years. I don't use the smart features, and there are cheaper options. But when the model in question is expensive or something you've spent 6 months building, the ESC is not a place to cut corners. Reprogramming via "beeps" is frustrating, but there's a way to do it via the Tx, which was much easier. I had to do this on one as the factory settings had changed. My only product design complaint is this -- the unit has four screw tabs for mounting. But there is a heavy gauge wire coming out of unit just above each of the four tabs, making it impossible to actually use the tabs without damaging a wire. It's like they never actually tried to mount one before they started manufacturing them. ... show more

  • Spektrum Electronics.
I use Spektrum exclusively in all m planes now. After having an FMS ESC fail during approach, I have made the switch to Spekteum. Sure they cost a little more, but it is still cheaper than buying a new plane after cheap electronics fail and you have to end up wrecking your plane.

  • Avian 100 Amp Brushless Smart ESC
I purchased this ESC for my new Cessna 182 Skylane RC plane. I've used Avian ESCs in other planes and I'm very satisfied with their performance. I recommend them.

  • Spektrum 100Amp ESC Avian
Top quality ESC. Has reverse thrust for your EDF Jets or Prop planes. Also has good telemetry( voltage amp draw, tempting)if you have a RX from Spektrum that has Telemetry.

  • Serious ESC problem
This product is not reliable. Installed it in my Revolver powering an Avian 6050 motor. After just 41 flights, it failed on takeoff. It switched to low power warning and cutoff the motor. The Revolver was damaged but is fixable. The battery was 4.20 Volts per cell. Tried it in another 6-cell plane that day and it flew for 5 minutes with no problems. Horizon’s customer service is beyond terrible. If you do not purchase over $2,500 a year to become a “Top Gear” member, you can’t call them. Their website’s chat literally disconnects you if you try to report a problem or get warranty service. They need to do better if they want to remain the top R/C suppler in the U.S. ... show more
