I work in heath care and this is my third purchase of a Speidel "scrub watch." They fit my needs perfectly. The watch face is simple; I can use it for taking pulses (for which I need an analog watch with a sweeping second hand). It also has numbers for military time (used in nursing) as well as numbers in 5 second intervals which makes counting easy. No bells or whistle, just a good, basic, colorful watch. I like the silicone band; it stays clean and dries quickly. I've received compliments on all 3 that I own and I'll probably buy more! ... show more

So I love the watch. It is easy to read and professional looking. I wanted a watch that specifically had a 24 hour dial on it and there is not a ton out there. However, I hate the band. I realize that it is supposed to be for medical professionals and be durable but I have tiny oval wrists and the watch band is so stiff that it only makes a circle and doesn't mold or relax to fit my wrist well. Since it doesn't fit well due the material it also rotates around my wrist but tightening it more makes it uncomfortable. I solved the problem and bought a Spiedel leather band. Between buying this watch and the new band, it was still less expensive than some I have bought in the past. Overall great purchase. ... show more

    • For a "Scrub" Watch, NOT Practical in Medical Practice!

I bought this watch about 5 weeks ago. I loved the color (purple, which matched our color scheme). I hate digital and smart watches, and this one offered what I wanted and needed. With one BIG exception.... working in the medical field means wearing gloves a good portion of the time. Several times during the work day, my watch stops keeping time. At first, I thought it was a battery problem but then realized it was actually the crown being pulled out every time I doffed my gloves. The rib of the nitrile gloves would get caught between the bezel and the crown, thus stopping the watch! In the 30 years I've been working in this field (nursing/midwifery), I've NEVER had this problem with other watches! Addendum: I've now realized that this watch is just defective in some way. I tried a new battery a couple of days ago and it seemed to keep the time - that is, until I tried to wear it to work this morning! BEFORE I donned any gloves, it simply stopped. Once I took it off, it started running again. So... something is definitely NOT normal about this watch and now it's no longer eligible for return or refund! UGH!! I will never buy a watch from this company ever again! I'm degrading my rating down to a 1-star! Addendum #2: I noticed that the watch would keep time (for most part) several days after switching batteries. So, I tried one more time to wear it to work. It worked for all of about 1 hour, then started losing time, then stopped completely! So, now I will EMPHASIZE THAT THESE WATCHES ARE DEFECTIVE AND NOT WORTH PURCHASING!! IF ZERO STARS WERE A CHOICE, THAT'S WHAT THIS COMPANY WOULD GET! ... show more

I absolutely love this watch and I've worn it everyday since I got it. I work in the restaurant industry and need to check times for orders constantly. I don't always have access to a clock so I decided I needed a watch that could withstand sweating, water, grease, bumping up against things, etc. This watch has met snd exceeded all expectations. So far, I accidentally slaed my wrist against the wall, a cooler, the line, a steamer, and multiple other surfaces and there are no scratches, cracks or issues. I've also done dishes, washed my hands, and submerged it in water and it's still ticking. I find that putting a little bit of lotion along the band helps eliminate itching and odor. All in all, I would buy this again if something happens to it. ... show more
