The issue is that on the right side of both fins, where the toes rest, there's a rigid piece. On my right foot this sits near the pinky toe and works fine, but on the left foot, it rubs against my big toe. I've used these off and on for short bursts during my sessions, but the other day I used them for the majority of the session (~2000 yards). During that time they wore through my toe a bit and become unusable. It's likely they would've drawn blood eventually if I used them for my following session. I might have received two right fins instead of a left and a right or a defective pair. ... show more

    • Worked Great Until One Ripped
I've been using these fins for less than six months (2-3 times a week) in both an indoor and outdoor pool. At first, I loved them, although like others have mentioned, there was some discomfort between my big toes and the fins for the first couple of weeks that required me to develop some callouses. However, about a month ago, I noticed that one of the fins was already tearing — at the top of the fin where my toes stick out. This is really disappointing, as I can tell that after each swim, the tear is getting bigger and bigger. Plus, I used to swim with a pair of Speedo fins that I had for 20 years ... I never had any issue with that pair, and I was always impressed by their longevity. That being said, pretty soon, I won't be able to use one of these new fins, and I doubt that there's an easy DIY fix I can try. ** UPDATE: Amazon directed me to Speedo, who told me that they can't do anything about this. Fins aren't swimsuits and swim caps — they shouldn't have to be replaced very often, if at all. Looks like I'm a FINIS or TYR guy from now on. ... show more
