    • Exact Fit for 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 ST 3.7L
Purchased to replace the original radiator in my 2006 Dodge Ram ST 3.7L which had developed a stress fracture in the front of the tank and was leaking. The leak was small at about 8 ounces a week; however the smell is a dead giveaway, and evidence of catastrophic failure in the making. The Spectra replacement arrived in two days, well packaged and in excellent condition. A side by side comparison revealed it to be a close match to the Dodge OEM with a couple of exceptions: (1) the OEM design includes slots (driver side) for the two transmission cooler legs & requires a single retaining bolt on the passenger side. The Spectra design does not include slots. It requires two J-Nuts and Bolts to secure. I simply secured using heavy Zip-ties. From an engineering standpoint, I like this feature better as it eliminates squeak & rattle potential, as well as unwanted movement of the trans cooler. However it is different, therefore, some will complain, but then again, some live to complain. (2) The OEM unit (passenger side) included transmission cooler line snap retainers; two per line, whereas Spectra's design only included one per line. Simply ensure the tube bead is snapped in front of the retainer and you're good. The design still works and is not really enough to remove stars. Other than the afore mentioned differences, everything else matches the OEM, including fitment. Simply move all hardware (rubber foot, J-Clips, Bolts, Nuts and Cap) from the old unit to new and you're ready to go. Oh, some will complain about this too, however reuse of hardware is standard for replacement radiators. Since I was in this deep, both the upper and lower coolant hoses and thermostat were replaced. It's a heck of a lot easier now since everything is out of the way versus on the side of the road when the originals eventually fail. Removal and replacement were typical for a job of this nature and is actually fairly simple if you're mechanically inclined. Start to finish, was around 2 hours, and the majority of that is due to me replacing other components. Knowing what I know now, I would still purchase. I hope this helps. ... show more

    • Not exactly the same. But will work with little rigging.
Well was tight on money and tight on time. Mine was missing the little stud on bottom that sits in frame, I cut a piece of hose and set it where stud would be to keep it from moving. That worked good. I to used zip ties to hold down trans cooler. Got 9000 miles on it. No problems. Probably will go a different route of needed done again. But cant knock it for the price and works. ... show more

I service commercial fleet vehicles. I've purchased quite of few of these. You just have to switch out some hardware from the old one to the new one. They fit very well and hold up over time. I like Spectra's radiator quailty and pricing. I will be purchasing more of these.

Old radiator developed crack so purchased this new Spectra. Fit and finish spot on except 1 area where power steering cooler brackets wouldnt slide into the front support sleeves of the new Spectra. Instead of modifying PS cooler I opted use 4 zip ties for support. 3 months after install, full flush and system refill.. temperature runs slightly cooler than originally with same 185 dgr thermostat. I recommend this product despite its short coming. ... show more

Part came on time. The radiator was an exact fit for a 2002 ram 5.9L. But it didnt come with the metal clips that hold the bolts in place. Used the ones on the old radiator but plastic housing was a bit big for the metal clips to be inserted.

The radiator fit my 2006 Dodge 1500 SLT 4.7L perfectly. A word of advice, make sure you remove all the hardware and rubber grommets from the old radiator to put onto the new one.
