  • Seems to be similar to oem quality
So far so good. I was a bit worried about getting a radiator shipped but the product came very well packaged and had no damage upon receipt. Fitted this on my 2000 3.0 Ford ranger 2wd with no problems. Installation required no modifications for my truck and fit like the original. I did not have any leaks or overheateing issues upon install. Now being close to 3 months after install the radiator is still holding up well. I live in Az and ve done a couple long 3hour trips up north that should've put the radiator under some stress. I am confident enough to say that I believe this radiator will continue to hold up well and last as long as the original. ... show more

Some reviews say 2" radiator was needed and this is only 1", the core on my OEM was 1" and the sides (plastic) was 2", only difference was the top of radiator plastic is 1" on this one and OEM was 2", does not effect function, everything lined up and fit perfectly even AT lines, will need new cap and use old power steering lines brackets on bottom, maybe drain too don't remember, been awhile since install, works great, oh and I bought this used like new for like 25$. ... show more

  • perfect replacement
Replaced the original radiator in my 2001 Ford Sport Trac. Arrived next day as advertised in perfect shape. After removing old radiator this slipped in easily and everything matched up perfectly. Filled it up ran it till it burped up all the air and the radiator cap went on with no problems. After 2 weeks engine is running cooler and everything is a-ok. Very glad to have been able to replace the radiator with no problems at a great price ... show more

  • An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
So how did this "adventure" start? well, in my trucks owner manual, it says "Do not use extended life orange coolant" and, on top of this screw up, I think I may have combined coolants at one point.. So basically my radiator/coolant system gunked up hardcore, AND I WAS FREEZING TO DEATH on my 4am drives to work. I initially reverse flushed my heater core, which only gave me very VERY temporary relief, because the whole system was so bad off. Well after some serious flushing of the system and out right replacing the radiator, the heat is back, and I am happy. I bought this for a: 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4 with a 'D' code Transmission 5R55E D 1997 - 2009 4.0L Rangers (1997-2001 Explorer w/4.0L) 5-Speed 2.47 / 1.87 / 1.47 / 1.00 / 0.75 This radiator fit very snugly, just like the OEM radiator. Everything matched up. Threads on the radiator were good. One of the little plastic thread guards was missing though. Came well packaged. Box was damaged. The radiator had a slight twist to it. Like, looking down the radiator, with the front facing your legs, you could see this. Well I already had my OEM radiator out, and was looking at it as well (Too late to panic). Had the same very slight twist, so I guess its just designed/engineered this way to fit? Functionally it works just fine. No leaks or anything upon installation. Here's my advice to you though, if your installing this radiator.. you will probably have to take some stuff off your old radiator. Like the plastic wind dampener that your coolant overflow hose runs under neath. Why your here on Amazon you may as well go ahead and pick up some long zip ties, or some of the little plastic plugs. When I was removing the "plastic wind dampener" from my old radiator I was trying to be gentle, but the little plastic plugs were just at the end of there life and broke on me... zip ties saved me. Not sure these are the correct size, but at least you'll have an idea of maybe what you need: GM, Ford & Chrysler 6.4mm Hole Retainer (Qty: 100) Gripper Box # 2000T https://www.amazon.com/Ford-Chrysler-6-4mm-Hole-Retainer/dp/B0017UBHQS/ref=pd_sbs_263_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=20H65BD6EZ0X7VQHGY7C And don't forget when your doing this, your going to have to have some storage containers for your "adventure" I bought 3- 3 gallon oil jugs (Since the coolant system holds about 2-1/2 gallons of coolant) and also bought some drain tubs.. • Perfect fit for 2002 3.0 Ranger XLT
I ordered this radiator when the plastic on the original cracked and I had a continuous leak. Installation was simple and took about 20 minutes. I read other posts about threading issues prior to the install so I took my time with the attachments. My suggestion would be to have someone else hold the lines at the correct angle to make sure you get everything lined up properly. I did not have anyone to help and was still able to do it, but it definitely would help. Glad I got this on Amazon- the local auto parts stores wanted $50-$70 more for the exact same unit! ... show more

  • Fit my 1998 ranger 4.0 xlt perfectly
Fit perfectly, no issue with the transmission flares. I did have the cap issue. As the truck warmed up a little drop would leak from the cap every few seconds, even with a new cap. I found a small plastic burr from the mold process. Shaved it down with a knife. Issue is gone. Worth the price.

  • Great replacement
I worried about whether this would be as good as the products they were selling at the parts stores that cost from 40 to 100 plus dollars. I must say so far it is holding up very good. Came with all fittings installed and didn't need to be tightened. All mounting holes lined up perfectly.

  • Used as a replacement for a 2002 3.0 Ranger
Really happy with this part. I week prior, our Ranger's OEM radiator blew. I found a direct-swap replacement part number, and found the number on amazon. Had it delivered before the next weekend for wrenching. Difficulty of swap is largely dependent upon your vehicle. But ours went in easy enough. I also took the opportunity to replace the thermostat since I had it all apart. Also the radiator cap. This is important, because a bad rad-cap can cause a system to over-pressure. Fit was a direct swap. This exact part also has hookups for transmission lines. The only thing you really need to know here: BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THREADING ON THESE LINES. If you cross-thread the fittings, you void the warranty and screw yourself. You may have to wiggle the lines around. But if they don't start threading down most of the way finger-tight, you're doing it wrong. Start over, try again with help. That said, did the job right, nothing leaked, truck doesn't overheat (after properly burping the system). This will be a 5-start product for me unless it blows prematurely. ... show more
