  • Matched my 98 Caravan 3.3 application but threaded clips for fan housing were useless
Used in a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan with 3.3. Everything was a match, but had to reuse the clips from original radiator fan housing, which required bending of clips to get embedded threads in clip to align properly and thread. There are two clips that some sort of pump support bracket attaches to, through the radiator and fan housing, and those were the biggest problem. The radiator did include 2 "sort of" similar clips, but they did not work at all for my application; too slender in the jaws to fit the radiator plastic and the fan housing plastic into and be square enough for threads to align. And I can't imagine that the somewhat flimsy-by-comparison fan housing is supposed to carry the weight of the pump assembly and its hoses, rather than the solid radiator frame. I managed to reuse one of the original clips and will need to get a self-tapping bolt for the other one, or maybe even a nut-and-bolt combo. Overall, radiator seemed of good quality, was packaged well, and is holding water and cooling just fine so far in driving. I will update this review if that changes. I noticed that the radiator says it was "Made in C...", what, you thought "Made in China"? No, it was made in CANADA!! The vehicle itself was made in Canada, I think Windsor, Ontario, according to the VIN. So maybe even this is the true OEM factory that made it? Also, my radiator application did not have transmission hoses going into it, and the ports were sealed off on the new radiator. Not a reflection on quality, just a difference between mine and the YouTube video I used to support the installation. I used one by a guy who goes by Liheh15 and says he's an IT Professional doing this as a Sunday project It is titled, "How to change the radiator for a 1998 Dodge caravan" Aside from that, the radiator included the rubber grommets, 2 on top, 2 on the bottom, to replace the worn parts. ... show more

  • it fit perfect. I did not notice that the item sent ...
I installed the noted radiator. Took about 8 hours for the do it myself mechanic w/o help. In my inquiry to Amazon on radiators I listed a 2000 Chrysler T&C with the 3.8 liter engine. They send a 3.3 liter engine replacement. Unfortunately, it fit perfect. I did not notice that the item sent had the hose ports on the same side. My old radiator has hose ports one on each side. Other wise the fit was perfect. I had to by a radiator hose for the 3.3 to resolve the issue since the removal and install are very tedious. I just finished, so I can't address the quality of the product, but it looks as good as the one it was replacing. This makes the third radiator for this vehicle with 145,000 miles. If and when it fails Ill let you know! ... show more

  • Delivered In 4 Days - Switch Out Drain Plug Before Installation - Warehouse Bargain Price Deal - Good Fit
UPDATE - Yup, it happened again with a leaky drain plug. I drove the old 1999 3.3L Grand Caravan less than 10 miles and spotted a small puddle of coolant leaking from the drain plug already as I walked to my Van this morning. ADVICE - if you decide to purchase a Spectra Radiator replace the drain plug with any other aftermarket drain plug before installation and save yourself the additional headache of having to drain out all the coolant and replace it anyway. This is my 2nd experience with this issue when buying a Spectra Radiator. That said - it's a decent Radiator after the original drain plug is switched out. 3 STARS - I gave this product 3 Stars because I've had problems with this Spectra Radiator in the past when I installed one in my 1991 Grand Voyager and the drain plug started to leak after only a few months of mild driving. However, after I replaced the original drain plug with a better one from NAPA the radiator didn't give me any more problems. Anyway, after learning the old 3.3L 1991 had a blown head gasket I replaced it with a Brand New 150,000 mile 1999 3.3L Grand Caravan lol! figuring it would be easy to work on because I was so familiar was the other 3.3L. WRONG - this M.F. Radiator was so much harder to install on the 1999 I ended up paying a mobile mechanic from Craigslist to finish the job plus to install a new fuel filter and air filter that were a piece of cake with the older 1991 Van. No Joke - the Air Filter & Fuel Filter were also far more difficult to install on this 1999 piece of garbage. BOTTOM LINE - If I didn't get totally screwed by finding out I just purchased another 3.3L with a blown head gasket and this New 1999 holds up I will regret trying to save a few bucks by purchasing another Spectra Radiator. Had I known the installation would be so difficult on this 1999 I would have definitely gotten off a few more bucks and put in a better quality Radiator. ... show more

  • What warranty does this have
Item went in absolutely flawless oh, what's an exact Factory replacement however only lasted 35 days. I do not see any warranty information online so I got a lifetime warranty replacement radiator from AutoZone which was in stock. Little bit different as far as look like the old one. But lifetime warranty will have me sleeping better at night. Not sure what to do with the this radiator and trying to contact the company. Would think there would be some kind of warranty involved. Perhaps not online stuff ... ... show more

  • Failure in 14 months
After 14 months of service, the radiator has started to leak. It was professionally installed after the original one gave up after 200k miles. It seems the seal on the passenger side is failing. Fortunately for me this leak started just when I arrived home, so there was no immediate danger. Now I'm battling the Amazon warranty process. I didn't know this, but just found out that Amazon has a 1 year limit of any warranty returns regardless of what the manufacturer states. The Amazon page on this product clearly links to the manufacturer PDF stating a 2 year warranty, and explicit instructions to return the product to the retailer (Amazon). But Amazon won't do it. So watch out... any warranty claim beyond 1 year (lifetime, 5 year, etc.) is worthless on Amazon. Best to buy from another retailer. There are many auto parts retailers that provide excellent return policies, so I'm going back to them for car parts from now on. I'll keep buying books and computers on Amazon, but car parts belong with the car part experts. ... show more
