My main concern was the top rolling down and I even chatted with someone on the Spanx website who said that if you are in between sizes then sizing up will help prevent rolling. Even though I am losing weight, I went ahead and got the larger size. Trying it on and walking around my house I was disappointed at first because it immediately started rolling down. Loved it everywhere else so I decided to wear to work the next day with the straps to hold the top in place (pro tip: don’t try to figure out the straps when you are already running late! Took me a good five minutes searching for the second strap I swear I just had before I realized they were hooked together). Not sure if it just needed a stretching from the initial try on or if the straps did anything, but I had almost no rolling of the band wearing these for over 10 hours! I didn’t have that tummy sauna/sausage casing feeling like with cheaper brands. I am a little wary of using the opening - I got the nude color and they are almost see-through. One thing that is nice about the shorts style shapewear is that your rear end is covered in a dress - it looks like they mean for you to wear these without underwear but with the transparency and the big hole, I felt it was too risky. I was hesitant to buy these because of the expense, but then I realized that I had 3 $20 ones to return that just didn’t work for me despite rave reviews. I learned a lesson in buying quality here. I think the style is good for those with long torsos - they went all the way up without any issue and I’m normally fighting the highwaisted styles to get them in place. For reference, I’m 5’9” 180lbs size 12/14, pear shaped and I bought large.

I'm 5'3 and around 160-165lbs. When I first got this product, I thought I was crazy for buying medium, cause it looked tiny. However, I read a review from someone similar to my weight and height that said not to give up and that it would fit. I struggled a bit, but I got it on and it definitely made a huge difference for the dress I had to wear. The only thing is that is does roll down a bit, so you might get a little back muffin top, but it kinda smooths out when you put a bra over it. The tummy control really makes up for the rolling down situation.

Disappointing Quality and Performance! Do Not Waste Your Time or Money Poorly constructed with cheap materials. The fabric offered no grip around the leg area, stretched out quickly, and provided virtually no support. Does NOT stay in place, rolls around.. Not suitable for wear under clothing or for any practical use.

I got a x-small and I was happy with the fit so I would say it is true to size. However, this item has a butt enhancer -- it lifts up your behind in a way that looks unnatural. Or perhaps I am not the right customer base for it, who knows. But I had to return since I did not buy it for butt-lifting purposes, but instead for overall compression and to wear underneath formal summer garments to make them look smoother. I am disappointed as the quality of the material and design seem very good. It provides good support, minus the butt-shaping component. I wish the webpage specified this feature more clearly

Nothing beats the Spanx brand from my experience with so many other copy-cats. I really would be an ambassador for this brand (HIRE ME lol), nothing else on the market comes close! For the curvy women, a size 16+, these are a must MUST have! These are perfect for under a knee-length dress/biker shorts/leggings, and they are my go-to shapewear. I've tired Yummie, everything at Kohls and Macys, Hookedup Shapewear, everything at Lane Bryant/Torrid, and nothing has beat Spanx (not even the X made by Spanx line). I know the price is a little steep but it's worth the investment. You will be smoothed out, as this is one of the higher compression garments they have for plus size women, and you will instantly boost your confidence in something form hugging especially. I wouldn't think about it, I would get them. If I styled ANYONE, it would start with a pair of these Spanx before anything else. If you are plus size and wondering your size, go to the Spanx website, click on the size chart for plus sizes to learn your accurate size. Spanx size chart is accurate and you do not need to go up or down a size if you measure yourself properly. I hope this helps, LOVE YOU SPANX!!!!!

This is my second pair of Spanx. To be noted my first pair of Spanx I purchased almost 10 years ago and they were so hard to get on that I felt like an overstuffed sausage. These however are drastically improved. Even though they offer the compression, it doesn't feel like I'm being rung out like your grandma's laundry. The fabric is much smoother, glides over the skin ( please for the love of God make sure your skin is dry before you try this) and even has an interesting feature that's supposed to add more shape to your butt. From what I can tell, it may just make it look a little smoother from the lower back rolls to the start of the cheeks. But if you're like me and you got more in the midsection to love these will work. They allowed me to wear a not super tight bodycon dress to a Broadway show and I didn't looks like the Michelin Man underneath. Picture proof above, please ignore the messy hotel room that was my daughter's side.
