In my journey to find the perfect tent, I saw this listed and gave it a try. What I have found when researching tents is that there are a ton of reviews that talk about setting it up and tearing it down, but there aren't a lot that have a full use case. My particular use case: I need a tent that we can set up if we have more people than will fit in our travel trailer when we go camping. We tend to go any day that ends in a "Y", and the only thing that will absolutely prevent us from going out is if there is a threat of severe weather. We also live in Texas, so the "summer" ends up being closer to six months, with temperatures overnight mimicking what should be seen only in the daytime in the desert. We have a heater and portable air conditioner for those times, but we have noticed that even in the shade, most tents can't keep cool very well. I mean, it is asking a lot to have an AC keep the climate down when that means dropping the outside temperature by 20-30 degrees F, so that tracks. Tents that I have tested and results: I have a Kodiak Canvas springbar, a Gazelle Hub, a Teton Trail mesh, and this tent, and have set them all up in direct sunlight in the back yard, testing each with thermometers inside, with and without a pop-up canopy providing shade. Instead of saying what the temperatures I could achieve in them are, I will highlight the difference in outside temperature. Each of the tents uncovered, using a fan, I could get a 5-10 degree drop. Covered, that drop was 8-13 degrees. At night, the best temperature I could get was an 18-degree drop, in the Gazelle, under a canopy, with the rain fly off and the fan on. All of the rest were close to that number, but not as big a change. Note that the Kodiak indoor temperature was about average, but the temperature did not change as much when opening the door and moving outside/inside. It retained the temperatures when it got to them. Using an AC, the temperatures would drop 10-15 °C uncovered and 15-20 °C covered. That's a lot of information about a specific use case and too general a test to apply here, but the biggest thing I noticed when doing this test is how much better the Acacia was at keeping things cool and dark. It fared well in all of the tests and was the best in the covered and uncovered AC tests. First off, this thing is lined with what I can best describe as the material that goes inside those hot/cold bags you can get at the grocery store. The entire thing has velcro panels that can cover all of the windows, so if you want a cool, dark room, close them all up, put it in the shade, and crank up the AC. I was getting anywhere from 20-25 drops in temperatures, but noticed the best came when I peeled back the roof vents a little and let it breathe. It was so well sealed that unless you want a bounce castle floor from the AC suction, you'll need to open some windows anyway, so it worked out well. I just fed the AC exhaust out of the stove vent hole, and it did great. This seems like it will meet the demands that we have as campers turned glampers. Everything else about the tent: It was very easy to set up, as hub-style tents seem to be. This was a bit more solid of a pull to get the side panels pulled out, but that gave a sense of security for how well it will stand in windy weather. There are two doors directly across from each other, so when you inevitably set it up the wrong way, it doesn't absolutely require spinning it around. Or, if you want a back door, it's there. Out of the gate, it seemed like the velcroed tub floor wasn't the same size, but I think it was how it was put together. Once I straightened it out and realigned, it fit perfectly well. There are two poles for each door to give some more support, but I'm not entirely sure those are absolutely necessary, as it all stands up fine by itself. The zippers are all smooth and don't get hung up anywhere, also reflecting the quality of the entire tent. It folds down nicely into its bag, with room to spare. The materials are all very well-made and will last for years to come. Add in that if you close the entire tent up, you need a flashlight to see inside, and it makes for a great tent. I'm glad that I found it and hope to let it live in its environment as much as humanly possible.

After setting up my Space Acacia XL tent by myself I must admit that I am quite frustrated by some of the reviews stating the level of time and difficulty needed to set up. My first time set up took less than 5 minutes to pop out all of the sides, attach the 4 large doorway poles, secure the rainfly to the metal loops, and add the 4 small rainfly poles, including the time it took to unbuckle, unzip, and remove everything from the bag, without reading the instructions. I am by no means bragging but I could now do it in under 3 minutes which is exactly why I am frustrated. This tent sounded difficult to set up so I almost went with another great companies T-Hex hub tent, which is more expensive, but states from bag to base camp in under 90 seconds. I agree less than 90 seconds to pop out, but some of their models still require poles assembled for the roof while this one simply pops up. The other brand may be slightly faster in total, by about a minute simply because the XL door poles are placed on the inside of the tent. To me this extra 1 minute of time is well worth it since Space Acacia has two full sized doorways for the entrance and exit measuring about 68” tall from the ground and 32” wide. This other brands hub tent has a triangular doorway on the side which is easiest to enter and exit with your body completely sideways. Not to mention good luck getting your air mattress inside if it is already blown up unless you get their more expensive T-Hex or Plus hub tent version which does offer a larger entrance but still smaller triangular exits. I keep bringing up this other brand only because it is the only other tent out there that is even remotely comparable with pop out sides and it is still a top quality over-landing tent. For me the biggest reason to purchase this tent over the competition is because it is 4 season tent instead of 3. You will never camp in cold weather? No problem, how about wanting it to last for many years to come. The Weatherproof Oxford 300D material which is also flame-resistant is going to last much longer than every other tent out there offering 210 denier Oxford weave. I could not be more satisfied with this tent, the level of detail and comfort features added is unlike anything else on the Market. I cannot wait for the next-gen inflatable air floor to become available again for the Space Acacia XL. I honestly was not planning on purchasing the air floor since tent lifespans can vary so much, but I am confident that this tent will outlast anything I have owned prior. Gear Patrol Dot Com, I am particularly upset and disappointed by your testers review and I will never be relying on your website again for any future gear reviews. Your tester stated “I set up the Space Acacia by myself, but strongly suggest setting up with at least two people if you want it to take less than half an hour.” Gear Patrol Dot Com, I am not sure if it took your tester over 20 minutes just to read instructions or the tester has simply never been camping prior, but as someone who spends a lot of time camping, the entire set up of the Space Acacia XL took less than 5 minutes solo. I can only hope that it took your tester 30 minutes to set up because of the time needed to inflate the air floor. If this is the case then that should clearly be stated in the article. The time needed to inflate multiple air mattress’s or in this case an air floor is not the same as time spent setting up a tent. I almost purchased another companies tent based solely on your review, which would have cost Space Acacia a new loyal costumer and profit.

This tent is easy to set up. Took it to 2025 Burning Man. It withstood the wind, rain, and sandstorms with ease. Normal camping is a breeze. Great to be able to stand up and change clothes inside. Great quality.

First of all, let me start out by saying I'm so happy and impressed that this tent has come to my attention!! Since the pandemic started and we couldn't travel anywhere, my friends and I all bought SUV's and started Overlanding a whole ton!! From then up until now, I have always had my sleeping set up in my Toyota Sequoia. Looked into a roof top tent but they were so expensive and also my black lab Coco can't quite climb a ladder. LOL. So coming across this ground tent setup intrigued me. I started to do some research and compare some other tents that were similar but after a few days of looking, I don't think there is anything on the market that even comes close. Here are my thoughts on my experience with this amazing tent setup. There were 4 items that I purchased separately on Amazon as you can decide on which additional items you want to get other than just the tent. First was obviously the tent itself, then I got the XL air base, I added the canopy also as it acts as a shade in the summer and a barrier in the winter, and then finally, the air compressor as it has all the connections you will ever need for anything inflatable. Everything was packaged very well and all the items come with its own carrying bag. The bags are big enough so that you are not struggling to unpack it or pack it. (you will appreciate this if you have ever tried to put a tent back in the bag it came in) Not going to lie but the whole setup with all four items was quite a bit of money but compared to a roof top tent, its about half the price. I also want to mention that I did get the XL version which is made for 4-6 people. They do have a smaller 2 person version that is identical in every aspect other than being smaller and lower in cost. So here is my first impressions with this tent for the first time. Setup is manageable with one person but two people would obviously be easier. The air base is massive so it takes almost 15 minutes to inflate. I just did mine to 5 psi but you can go a lot higher if needed. The air base is made out of a rubber material that is much like the extreme white water rafts so it is super strong and durable. Once inflated, it was firm but had a little give, I still brought my sleeping pad as it is much softer and more comfortable to sleep on. After the base is completely inflated, I placed the tent on top of the base to set up. The tent was super easy to put up as it was just four pull out walls with handles and a pop up top. Did it by myself fairly easily. The tent does come with a smaller rainfly that only covers the roof footprint, the additional canopy I purchased is big enough to offer shade for both doors and comes with its own canopy poles. All in all, took about 30 minutes to set everything up with the bulk of that time inflating the base. I must say that the construction and materials that went into this entire set up is top notch. The seams in the tent are tight and straight, the zippers are YKK branded and zip very smooth. There are 8 windows and two doors so when you have them all unzipped, its very open and air flows very well through the tent. At night, I closed up all the windows and doors and it was quite cozy inside. Also, there are two pouches to hold your wallet and cell phone, there's a hook in the center ceiling to hold a light, and there are little velcro loops to hold the wires. Overall, I would say that this is the most impressive tent that I have ever used and I love that fact that I get to use this all the time going forward with all of my future camping adventures. I will say, there is only one negative thing that I can think of and that is the air base is quite heavy at about 70lbs. The good thing is that you don't have to bring/use the base every time. The tent is great by itself and that only weighs about 45lbs. I would definitely recommend this tent system if you do a ton of camping all year round, or if you're the type of person that likes a nicer experience out in the wilderness, or if you have a significant other that will only come camping if she can stay in a nice yurt style tent. This tent is sturdy, however it has very limited space. This tent also holds a lot of moisture. Overall I wound up giving it away, I wouldn't purchase again, pretty disappointed as it was very expensive was expecting better.

After a week of camping in a small REI Trail Hut 2 tent (which is a wonderful tent) and enduring some heavy downpour, we decided to upsize to get a bit more space and comfort. I spent hours reading every review available and watching every video found on Acacia and other comparable tents, including Gazelle. In the end, we went for Acacia. Honestly, we were a bit skeptical about it getting such rave reviews but are now believers. The tent is such a top quality, it makes it worth every penny spent. We purchased the core 2-person tent and the canopy. The tent is really a 2-person tent with some extra space on both sides. However, it oozes with quality and features. It is so easy to set up; the fabric is thick and every little detail seems to be thought out (even down to providing clear instruction booklets and color-coding all components and storage bags). There are so many configurations one can make from the tent and the canopy. You can have it open for clear and warm summers; you can use the rainfly for not-so-rainy days or nights; you can install the canopy for superior rain protection yet super ventilation; and you can close the canopy tightly around the tent for cold nights and warmth preservation. Often, little details are what matters. Most of the camping gear we owned has storage bags that are so tight, that you really must pack the gear very tight to fit. One thing we love about Acacia is that they made all storage bags extra large, so that you don’t have to pack everything so tight to fit. The tent is heavy, sure. But it’s not designed for backpacking. It’s OK to carry a short distance from your vehicle. We can easily stand up inside it, with me being 6’ 1”. That’s very nice for dressing and undressing. Roof windows for the night sky…wall windows which can be opened or shut…screen door for ventilation and panel door for privacy and weather protection…even stakes that are thick and sturdy…love it all! Lastly about Acacia support…we are equally pleased here. They are extremely helpful and super-fast responding. I’d give them 5 out of 5.

One of my favorite tents is this one. I genuinely believe it’s the easiest to set up and take down. It folds back into its bag effortlessly. All the stakes are made of high-quality material. The tent is waterproof, and even in 30+ mile-per-hour winds, it remained stable and perfectly pitched. I highly recommend this tent for first-time campers and weekend campers alike. The interior space is ample, providing a comfortable sleeping area.

I love Acacia tents. This one had upgrades compared to the one I purchased a year prior, which was same color and description. The added covers on the pulls used to set it up were a nice touch, as were the flaps on the ceiling that completely close the top of the tent. My first one came with a net top which was covered by a rain fly, which allowed cold air into the tent. The new Velcro top gives you the option to completely seal it off or leave it open for air to circulate. Set up is fairly easy but it takes a little practice to position yourself properly to pull each side out. These tents are definitely a little on the small side which makes it difficult to have two separate air mattresses in it comfortably. For a single person or a couple sleeping together it’s perfect. The height is exceptional and makes moving around inside the tent easy. I’ve had no problem with leaking even during heavy rain. This tent is solid and barely moves in high wind, especially when compared to my daughter’s regular tent. On our last camping trip it was so windy that her tent kept flattening and looked like it was going to blow away, my Acacia tent stood solid. I would definitely recommend.
