Features

  • High-Precision Physical Modeling: Whorl Rotary recreates the authentic dimensional movement of classic rotating speaker systems through detailed digital physical modeling. It calculates the genuine mass of the virtual treble horn and bass drum to replicate the true 3D Doppler effect and bi-amp crossover emulation, letting your sound soar with the iconic, hypnotic fluid rotary swirl pioneered by late '60s studio legends.
  • Virtual Speaker Mass Simulation: Fine-tune the virtual speaker's authentic mass via dedicated, high-precision control parameters. From the mechanical nuance of rotor inertia to the precise dual-rotor balance, all parameters regarding "sense of weight," mechanical drag, and air friction are under your command to reconstruct a deep, immersive, and authentic spatial resonance for professional studio tracking.
  • Touch-Sensitive Auto-Rotation: Reimagining the classic cabinet response with modern interactive algorithms, the auto-Spin mode translates your playing dynamics into touch-sensitive modulation speed. Strum gently for a dreaming slow wave, or dig in to accelerate the swirl, injecting a living, organic pulse that undulates and waves in perfect sync with the tension of your performance.
  • Real-Time Speed Action & Brake: Featuring momentary footswitch logic engineered for intuitive live stage performance. A long-press triggers an expressive Brake effect at critical musical transitions; the dynamic speed ramping and mechanical drag simulation are remarkably smooth and natural, ensuring the spatial modulation blends seamlessly with your emotional expression.

Description

Klowra is a collective of engineers, independent musicians, and tone obsessives driven by one idea: sound should feel alive. We don’t build pedals to recreate the past. We build tools for musicians chasing sounds that don’t fully exist yet, the textures, movement, and emotion that live somewhere between instinct and imagination. Klowra exists at the intersection of engineering discipline and creative obsession, that's Where the Tone Blooms. A coding bug once exploded into harsh digital noise. Instead of failure, we heard the ocean. That accident became the Tide Mode inside the Limbo Reverb. Klowra draws inspiration from everywhere: underground culture, experimental art, studio culture, and the musicians. We care about creating instruments that inspire forward motion. Klowra pedals combine world-class manufacturing with road-ready reliability for touring and studio professionals. Our goal is simple: uncompromising sound and durability. It is a bizarre auditory illusion: you strike a string as usual, but what emanates from your amp might be the animal-inspired synthesized vocal textures. SOUTH ZOO is far from a mere novelty/gimmick polyphonic synth; it is an animal-inspired synthesizer pedal that blends surreal character with sophisticated DSP architecture. It abandons cold, clinical digital synthesis. Driven by a powerful triple-voice synthesis algorithm and smooth low latency polyphonic tracking, SOUTH ZOO acutely captures your picking dynamics, naturally blending bizarre animal vocal tracts with your guitar signal. This sound is no mechanical overlay; it interacts delicately with your notes, responding to every rise and fall through dynamic envelope decay. Within this curious menagerie, you can adjust parameters to explore the textures of cat, frog, and horse synth voices, meticulously sculpting your ideal soundscape. By holding down the footswitch, you instantly trigger dramatic reverse pitch-swallows and infinite wails via signal freeze. This is more than a boundary-pushing experiment; it is a studio-quality pedal that translates emotional tension into pure musical expression. Diverging from the cold sci-fi universe of mass-market gear, the Budding Bloom Series celebrates Asian mythological creatures and sacred artifacts. Each boutique stompbox features whimsical, psychedelic landscapes hand-drawn by independent artists. This exquisite visual aesthetic transforms your pedalboard into a piece of fine art, perfectly reflecting the organic, creative soul of your musical performance. Sculpt wild animal textures into playable instruments. The 4-knob tactile matrix grants total authority over your soundstage. Dial in TAILS to adjust the tails of the animal voice, and sweep SPEED to alter modulation rates. The precision MIX control balances raw guitar dynamics with synth voices to prevent muddy overlapping, while the DETAIL pot fine-tunes the sonic character and grit, ensuring your bizarre creations sit perfectly in any mix. Command absolute sonic chaos or crystalline order on the fly. The tactile Voice Button snaps instantly between Cat, Frog, and Horse synthesis engines. Pair it with the multi-function Toggle Switch to define your performance logic: activate Pitch Follow to tightly lock harmonies to your guitar's exact frequency, or select Normal/Drone to instantly sever tracking, plunging your melody into a flat, robotic, lo-fi mechanical drone noise mid-solo. Powered by a 32-bit floating-point WildSeed DSP and premium 24-bit AD/DA converters, this pedal processes complex dynamic tracking with studio-grade audio purity, preserving every subtle pick nuance without tone degradation. To fully protect your layout, it features a Switchable True/Buffered Bypass matrix; easily toggle to Buffered Bypass to preserves your original tone with 100% clarity across large pedal setups, so your highs stay bright and your bass stays deep without any signal drop. Don't let its ultra-compact, pedalboard-friendly footprint fool you. Engineered for grueling tours. To unlock total hands-free expression, simply connect any standard external TS footswitch. It’s the ultimate combination of heavy-duty reliability and versatile control for demanding gigging musicians. Access continuous algorithm updates and new features via the USB-C firmware updates port, ensuring your South Zoo Voice Synth is continuously evolving alongside your creativity. South Zoo Voice Synth Klowra Leap Octave Pedal Klowra Hane Filter Pedal Klowra Whorl Rotary Pedal Klowra Dive Pitch Shifter Where should I place the SOUTH ZOO in my signal chain? Place it first! Put SOUTH ZOO right after guitar and before fuzz/drive for zero-latency tracking. Pro tip: place a compressor before it to tame wild dynamics and perfectly stabilize the pitch shift. Can I turn off the Pitch Follow to get a fixed animal voice? Yes! Flip the toggle switch to Normal/Flutter or Stretch mode. The tracking severs, transforming the voice into a flat, robotic, Lo-Fi noise—perfect for avant-garde sound design. Is it normal for the synth volume to spike suddenly when picking hard? Yes! Driven by dynamic envelope decay, gentle strumming keeps the voice tucked beneath, while aggressive picking sculpts a massive, expressive, and lively synth punch. Does the Klowra Budding Bloom series support an external pedal (Expression Pedal/Footswitch)? No expression pedal support. But perfectly runs external TS footswitches for hands-free live control! Easily connect any standard footswitch via the rear 3.5mm Ctrl jack using the included adapter cable. Ideal for seamless stage switching. Strange noises or tracking lag with my active pickups. Is it broken? Never! The +7 dBu headroom protects your signal. Simply lower your active bass onboard preamp volume or roll off pre-effects gain to avoid clipping and keep tracking crystal-clear.

  • One weird but wonderful pedal
Color: South Zoo Synth
This pedal is anything but ordinary. It provides 3 different synth voices: Cat, Frog, and Horse. There is nothing else quite like it on the market. The sounds it can create are very unique, though they can be challenging to incorporate into a traditional music workflow. I have yet to find a musical use for the horse setting. Like all Klowra pedals, this is full of secondary features and encourages exploration. I think it's a great value for experimental musicians. ... show more

  • Perfect for exploring and experimentation!
Color: South Zoo Synth
This is definitely the strangest pedal in a very cool series of guitar pedals made by Klowra - featuring frog sounds, cat sounds and horse sounds! Options include filtering through a sort of flange vocoder vowel and glitch tonality with randomized reverse pitch, speed or wild modification to the tail of the sound. One of the most unusual pedals I’ve ever used - named the South Zoo vocal synth, this is well worth trying out if you are looking for something experimental to add to your board. I like the way sounds are labeled as animal voices. Frog, cat and horse are represented here. The controls are straightforward. I love that they include an adapter so you can use an external foot switch to trigger additional functions selected by a three position toggle switch. You can use the on/off switch to trigger these FX functions too - but I like using a momentary keyboard sustain pedal. This is a very cool addition. White setting - Cat - is reminiscent of envelop filter FX with a sort of vocoder sound of an almost sitar like tone, if a cat is singing the tone. The tails control adds a trailing off effect to the sound on all three voice choices. Blue setting - Frog - has a more gravelly and ‘ribbet’ tone. Lots of strange and interesting possibilities. Orange setting - Horse - has an electric whinny or ‘neigh’ tone like a psychedelic equine sitar - extra wild with the tail control setting all the way up. This pedal will definitely force you out of any rut or pattern you are playing in - it makes you listen and reconsider. Way outside my comfort zone - making it great fun to use and experiment with. I think this would be great with keyboards as well as guitar. The case is metal and the switch and knobs/ potentiometers feel very good. The weight and overall design is terrific. The graphics, layout and packaging are very nice. This is one of the nicest designed series of pedals I’ve seen lately. The South Zoo will be great with other pedals, like reverb, delay, distortion and loop. These pedals are worth checking out - they’re fun, easy to use and won’t break your budget. ... show more
