    • outstanding for the solo acoustic guitarist
This is an outstanding piece of gear.. what it does it does extremely well. 1. Acoustic guitar tone. TC have mimic'd the resonance of the body of an acoustic guitar in some way.. there are 5 basic acoustic "models" to start with, and each has quite some degree of flexibility in tone. bottom line is a MAJOR improvement in acoustic tone from a piezo based guitar. 2. Mic tone With doing nothing at all, there is an adaptive tone, de-esser and compressor added to your vocals. instant improvement. 3. transparent pitch correct based upon key detection from guitar (or aux) input.. Not saying you cannot sing, but having 50% level is transparent and very effective. 4. programmable harmonies based upon key & chord detection. 5. tuner and looper...15 sec with undo/redo thats kinda it... there are a bunch of presets that you can change store recall for song sepcific setups.. but not these are predominantly dor the vocal tone/harmony/effect.. you effectively have ONE acoustic guitar tone... but then again.. thats all most need This is a great deal, offers a lot, and finally you can play your acoustic amplified without cringing over the tone. ... show more

    • Great Harmonizer.
Love it. I use it for my solo shows and it adds a very natural harmony at the push of a foot switch. Easy to use, works as advertised. My wife (and others) actually commented that my guitar sounded better than ever. I play a Taylor 410CE, Shure Beta 58 and EV speakers for my PA and I'm very happy with the outcome. I do have to cut the gain down a bit or I get a hum (hence the 4 versus 5 stars) but there are controls for gain and ground lift that eliminate most crappy power situations that bars provide. Other reviews will provide a list of features but those are available on Youtube and on TC's website. In the real world for a gigging musician it works very well. I haven't tried the looper function but plan to once I buy the Swtich-3 for added versatility. One final note, I had the TC Harmony Singer for a while - which also sounds good but the Play Acoustic has better and more harmonies, guitar sounds and buttons to go up and down the presets. ... show more

I love it waiting for external pedal but I find this product for me amazing I can't wait to preform out with it still a little more research to do online how to customize my harmony and effects but there pre programs are still amazing

    • It's A Game Changer
This is an initial review. I'll be updating it as milestones in usage and experience warrant. First thoughts: I was apprehensive about purchasing a new vocal/ guitar effects unit. My experience was that they invariably were difficult to use in a live performance capacity. This one so far seems to belie that. I will say that I have read the downloadable pdf complete manual and I recommend doing that. However the presets of the unit are well programmed so you don't HAVE to be a programming whiz. I do recommend getting at the very least the optional "Switch 3" sold seperately. I got one on sale for about 35 bucks. You'll see why when you get one. I do recommend the unit. It has great harmony capabilities and the guitar "body rez" setting is astounding. Getting an acoustic guitarvto sound miked without a mic is a feature well worth the price. Next step: Using it for live gigs. Will let you know. ... show more

The unit might be good looks like it has a lot of features for recording and playing live but the unit i recieved from the third party seller was dead out of box all the lights came on and able to scroll through but no sound at all returned it for refund At this writing waiting for refund
