  • Tiny but mighty
Color: Delay Purple
This is the second Flamma pedal I've bought. The first one was a full size FS02 and that's an amazing pedal. Based off of how impressive that one was I got this FC03 Delay. This is a great pedal. First of all... it's tiny. This could go in your pocket quite happily. Takes up no space at all on a board. Love that. Secondly... It's surprisingly well built! I was expecting it to be really light weight and flimsy feeling but it's a really solid little lump. It's got just enough heft that it won't slide around the floor, good quality rubberised grip underneath, that nice soft rubber, not the almost plastic rubber, you know what I'm talking about. It's got the same size all metal switch as the larger pedals, which is cool, means the Flamma switch caps will fit it. Body is solid, knobs don't rattle around and the switch feels positive and has good action. This feels like it'll last a good long while. Last of all and obviously most importantly... it sounds great. Zero feedback or buzz added to the chain, it really impressive range of tweaking. The FBack knob controls how much echo/delay you want and it goes from zero to just this side of infinite. The ELevel knob controls the envelope, so how smoothly the echo/delay is, again from zero all the way through buttery subtle to pretty jagged and obvious repeat. The TIme knob adjusts how quickly the repeat happens and again it goes from 0-100. You got full control here. It's a pretty no fuss pedal. It does what it needs to do and it does it really well. The little selector switch goes between a classic delay to a reverby echo to a more modulated and ethereal sounding tone. I love this pedal. Mixed with a full on reverb and Chorus, it's super trippy. Mixed with a distortion, it's classic heavy metal music. If you want a reverb that doesn't break the bank, looks nice (so many of this sized pedal look like cheap trash) and sounds like something way bigger and more expensive... get this. ... show more

  • Tons of Sound in a Tiny Package
Color: Flanger Purple
The FC14 (analog chorus), FC15 (analog flanger), and FC16 (optical tremolo) are my fifth, sixth, and seventh Flamma pedals. I discovered the brand a couple years ago and decided to try them out. I was skeptical at first because of the low low price, but as soon as I started turning the knobs I was immediately impressed. I ordered a few other pedals over the course of the following months. FC15 Analog Flanger: I'm a big fan of time delay effects and the flanger is probably my favorite of that kind. I've used many different flangers over the years and have ended up having various pedals which excel at a particular flange sound. For a $40 pedal, I wasn't expecting this Flamma to hold its own against the likes of my DOD, Ibanez, and Digitech pedals, but it really did give them a run for their money. I played with the FC15 for about an hour running through riffs from different genres and swapping around guitars. I was able to get all kinds of noises out of this little pedal. Really amazing! It is great at everything from subtle jet stream flange all the way to crazy ring modulation chimes. It's an added bonus that this is a true bypass pedal that tales up so little space on a pedal board. The Flamma FC15 Analog Flanger is a perfect choice for beginners and experienced players alike. FC14 Analog Chorus: Chorus is an essential effect to have, I think, and much like with flangers, I have owned quite a few. I've used the DigiTech Chorus Factory as my main chorus pedal for a decade. I also have a great Ibanez Dual Chorus that is really nice for quickly switching between two different chorus sounds. The FC14 can't do that neat trick, but it certainly can produce the entire spectrum of chorus effect sounds I could ever need. I spent even more time playing around with this chorus pedal, not only trying different guitars, but also testing clean, distorted, and even acoustic settings. I tend to like a nice shimmering chorus to add a nice layer to my tone and I was really happy with the results I could get out of this little pedal. I could also very easily get the Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins Small Clone-like sounds and still be able to kick it up another notch or two. As I am in the process of redoing my pedalboard, this may become the main chorus pedal. It gives me the sounds I want and takes up less space on my board. FC16 Optical Tremolo: I used to have a Boss Tremolo pedal and got rid of it when I got a Fender Twin amp with build-in trem. But when I moved abroad, I no longer had access to my amp, so I was excited to try out Flamma's optical trem. It does an excellent job of applying the effect in a way that sounds organic. I played around with settings and ran it through the effects loop and it was easy to create these crazy ambient tones as well a subtle tone that sounded very natural. It handles additional effects well too. I have a gig in August where I will use this for some songs and I'm really happy with how it sounded in just one afternoon of playing. And I have heard people complain about Flamma pedals being noisy. In my experience, they haven't been very noisy. I use a 1-spot and a daisy chain and haven't needed to add my noise gate when playing with just the Flammas. Maybe others will have different results, but that's been my personal experience. Anyway, Flamma makes good quality bang-for-your-buck pedals and I recommend giving them a try, whether you are a beginner or a pro. Even if you are a pedal hog like me. ... show more

  • quality effects all in one with cheap price tag, though a particular effect may be a 1-3, trick pony
Color: Modulation Green
Uhhh... for $39, if you're interested in adding modulation effects to your effects chain and are mostly looking to toy around with modulation effects before you commit to purchasing standalone pedals, this little thing will give you alot to work with. Personally, I enjoyed pushing the effects to the extreme to see what kind of chaos this pedal would create and not only was it what I was looking for, but the effects sounded smoothed and polished. About all you're missing is dedicated effects that you can dial in to emit several versions of a flanger or phaser, etc but that could be do to my ignorance on how to dial in effects or the short amount of time I spent manipulating each effect channel. The sounds you will get from this pedal can match the sounds of a $100 plus pedal, but like I said the limitations could be that you wont have a versatile flanger, but instead a flanger that has about 3-5 tricks up its sleeve. If you're more effect curious $40 is worth it. I can't speak to whether it could be used as a staple on an effect pedal board... possible if you find an effect you really fall in love with it, if you're willing to fall in love with an effects pedal... I could see myself doing that har-har-har. ... show more
