I'm not writing reviews anymore, BUT, I felt that I HAD to write something about this cabinet! Summed up in one word? BRILLIANT. This cabinet is sturdy, sleek, and easy to put together... once you figure out which piece goes where - the instructions DO need a little help :P It should be a two-man job, but I didn't have two men handy at the time, so I put it together myself... BTW I'm 70. The delivery man showed me all the damage on the box, and said that he'd make a note of it - - in case the product was affected - - no need for alarm there... the interior packaging was incredible. I even kept bits of it to use as protective packing, later. The hinges are impressive, and every hole and dowel lined- up perfectly - can you tell that I REALLY like this? I'm searching the house, right now, looking for places I could use MORE 'South Shore' furniture... maybe my bedroom suite could use an update!?! Hmmmmmmm! I had one problem with it, though... the back, lower, kick-brace is too short and won't fully span the back... so I made some longer dowels - doesn't show, so it's not a big deal, but I wasn't pleased with Amazon's, "Sorry - you need to return the whole thing" - - I don't think so! Just check ALL your pieces for correctness BEFORE you throw away the packaging and start putting it together! :) ... show more

Not too hard to set up. The hinges are a little challenging but you just need to step on them to push them in then hit with a rubber mallet.

We ordered 2 cabinets to use in our bathroom. They arrived with one damaged and I put together the undamaged cabinet only to find that it is not as sturdy as I had hoped. It looks ok, but wobbles side to side and no amount of tightening fixes the issue. I ended up using the shelf board as a backing and nailed 1" panel nails to hold it in and that definitely helped the cabinet not sway when moved. All in all, the price is ok for the quality but I had hoped the cabinet would be sturdier even if it didn't look fancy or expensive. I wouldn't pay for 2 of them again knowing that the attachments are somewhat flimsy and the shipping weight is very heavy for the packaging. An edit-we added a bead board backing (scraps from Lowe's) and some Walmart contact paper and the cabinets make very nice litterbox holders with the shelf standing in for a backboard under the beadboard. The cabinets now don't sway side to side and are the perfect size for a jumbo covered litterbox. We have 2 in our master bath and with air fresheners nearby and twice daily cleanings you'd never guess litterboxes were inside : ) ... show more

This is really pretty and the instructions are so well with pictures, numbers of the parts, etc. Also, you do not need 2 people to assemble. I am a 5'3'" not quite so young lady and assembled myself while watching TV. You can do it, too. It helps to check off and lay out the pieces ahead of time to be sure all of the parts are there...and they included an extra package of screws, nails, etc. actually labeled as "extra". That was a 1st for me, and all of the pieces were there. It's not rocket science and if you take your time and just follow the directions, you can have a sturdy, beautiful cabinet, too! It looks like the picture and am impressed every day when I look at it that I found this and solved my kitchen dilemma myself!! ... show more

The parts lock together well using the supplied fasteners and the cabinet is rigid. Doors are solid, but the remainder of the cabinet is made of particle board laminate with a thin surface that peels at the edges and dents easily. You will need the supplied touch-up pen. Although heavy, the cabinet slides easily on a hardwood floor if you affix the supplied pads. My cabinet arrived, packed flat in a cardboard container, weighing about 65 lb. The FedEx guy can handle this but we needed two people to move the package and the assembled cabinet. The series of diagrams make assembly straightforward. Some tips: 1. Start the assembly on a carpet or a rug. 2. Look at the overall parts location to determine which direction the veneered panels will face. 3. Fastening is easier if you have a power screwdriver. 4. For step 10, use a mallet (softer) rather than a hammer (!) listed under the `required tools` list. 5. Install the doors at the final location. (The cabinet is lighter and easier to pickup) For my application in a basement office, the cosmetics are OK. But if you want something better finish, you might want to pay a bit more. ... show more

This cabinet kit is a good value, but the materials are inferior and you should assemble the entire cabinet with glue. This cabinet serves reasonably well as the coffee station in the executive offices. We used ALEENES 15599 All Purpose Glue, 8-Ounce, available right here on Amazon. A pre-drilled hole was missing, not a major problem. You will also need these tools, cheap and readily available on Amazon: --> Stanley 68-012 All-in-One Screwdriver --> TEKTON 30812 Double-Faced Soft Mallet, 35 mm Assembly requires no particular skill, just put glue in all the holes and inside any place that two components join together. The result will be sturdy and durable. The layer of very thin, inferior Formica has a nice appearance. Our kit had obvious flaws in the Formica, which the included pen hid perfectly. Just draw over the cracks in the Formica and wipe off the excess. The cabinet is not water resistant due to the shoddy Formica, and you cannot put a coffeepot on it. So we ordered a sheet of plexiglass from a local hardware store. ... show more
