Color: Pure Black
I was a little nervous about ordering due to the negative reviews but it was the perfect dimensions for my space. I was truely impressed by the wrapping for shipping when I opened the box. These negative reviews must of been a few years ago and I believe the company might have improved its shipping wrapping because I had no broken pieces. It took me a few hours to build because there are a lot of parts so keep everything spread out and separate as you build. The instructions were easy to read. Make sure you follow every step including the part when it says if you think it's tight enough screw it tighter. Their right keep screwing till your hand hurts and the screw goes around more. Those reviews that said their drawers fell apart just needed to screw the board screws tighter and use wood glue and you would of been good. I would not compare this wood to IKEA it's much better and heavier . I can understand how people think it's weak because it does chip if your rough with it but just apply a thin layer of glue like your painting to the exposed edge and corner parts and your good. The drawers all had their own bag of parts separate from the other screws used for the base which was nice because you weren't confused on the screws. The drawers are more spacious then I thought and fit my kids clothes just fine. Adult clothes would not fit well unless it's for sock, undergarments or light weight t-shirts. -all in all I am very happy with this dresser. It's heavy nice particle board wood for a cheap price. If you want real wood then go buy expensive stuff. But I would say those bad reviewers got lemons and those were a few years ago but I had no broken pieces and everything fit together as it should. Use wood glue for extra strength. ... show more

  • 5 star happy. Easy, heavy, sturdy.
Color: Pure Black
Fairly easy assembly. Hardest part was finding where i put the screwdriver that i just had in my hand 2 seconds ago. Heavy, so assemble close to where you will put it. I did not, and sadly this doesnt come with any kind of felt or protective feet/floor guards. So i had to drag/slide it across the house on an flipped over rug. Seems very sturdy, it took the trip on the rug like a champ. Went together without any issues. Was packaged very well, nothing was damaged. Drawers slide very easy, almost too easy. They fly open and closed with ease. Was wider than i was looking for (wanted one around 20" wide, this is 26") even though the listed dimensions are correct it somehow seems bigger in person, and i needed something that wasnt too exspensive, the price on this was right so i made it work. The drawers wont hold much, theyre not very deep at all, one drawer might hold roughly 4-ish pairs of jeans. Just for a guest room so it wont get used much hopefully it will last a while. Today is day one so I cant review its potential lifetime durability. But overall it works great for what i need and i am 5 star happy with it. ... show more

  • Impressed with cost/quality ratio of this piece.
Color: Pure White
I have assembled a ton of inexpensive, shipped in a box, type of furniture and I have only positive comments about this piece. First it was packaged very well. The exterior box had some damage and I was concerned prior to opening it, but was happy to see that there was no damage due to how well it was protected. Normally I don't like to see how American products are over packaged and so much goes to the landfill but this is a case where it is warranted. Second, The instructions were better than most of this class of furniture. I've learned that it is best to lay out ALL parts and inventory them prior to starting assembly. Third, for inexpensive furniture, it is higher quality than others I've bought. For pressed wood it has a good quality, the drawer slides are quality metal with rollers, the hardware was better than most and all of the holes were drilled accurately. Having assembled so much of this level of furniture, I have learned that prep is essential. Get the right tools out to start(Small hammer or mallet, multiple screwdrivers, wood glue and a damp cloth and I use a square to check that components are true). DON'T USE POWER TOOLS TO ASSEMBLE. Anywhere that exposed pressed board comes in contact...USE GLUE! Even where you have the twist locks and especially on both ends of dowels. It will greatly extend the longevity of the piece and reduce "wobbly-ness" that can be inherent in self-assembled furniture. The one exception to that is the drawer bottoms, Leave those "float". The only area that I had any issues were some of the twist locks started to pull sideways if I tried to overtighten them(there is a reason the instructions say "go slightly past a half turn", don't take them too far). I am happier with this purchase than I've been with most self assembled furniture and have to give "props" to the designers. I would buy more furniture made by South Shore. Remember, if you want it done right, it will take some time and planning. ... show more

  • Wrong dimensions! Beware!
Color: Pure White
Absolute crap! The dimensions said 23.5" and the seller replied to the same question as 23". The product is actually 26"wide!!!!!!! We have an area that is 25", and after hours of assembling due to shoddy instructions, we go to put the unit in, and lo and behold, it is 2.5-3" bigger than described!!! Then I find out all 3 dimensions are wrong, even though the box says it's the correct item! Amazon tells me I have to disassemble and send back to get a refund. Are you kidding me???? This is completely unacceptable and shame on you, seller AND amazon!!!! Stated dimensions: 16.5x23.5x52" Actual dimensions: 19"x26"x50" ... show more
