This is a beautiful dresser, and it looks pretty sturdy and well built. Not too difficult to assemble, clear directions and well organized materials, took about 3 hours. HOWEVER, I've had it for less than 2 months now, and it's basically a piece of junk. The drawers don't stay on the track. We had to twice make additional fixes to it because the drawers easily fall off track and crash into the drawer below. Well today I went to open one of the drawers and the entire front ripped off. I followed the directions to a T and my boyfriend who is super handy has helped me fix it twice now so it was usable. I'm really disappointed in this item and the headaches it's caused. Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to purchase it and try it out for myself. The reviews online are extremely accurate in that you get your money's worth, it's a great piece, but it's obviously not top quality. The instructions to put it together were very helpful and easy to use, so it only took a few hours to put it together. A downside is that the bottom of each drawer is a thin piece of cardboard; therefore, it is not so sturdy. All in all, I'm happy I purchased it, but the dresser turns out to be very gentle and needs to be handled with care. We'll see how long it lasts for. ... show more

This is a great chest of drawers for the money. Easy to put together and well packaged. Parts were individually packed and pieces were labeled. Instructions were easy to follow. Somehow though the top shelf had a gouge in it when we unpacked it...no damage to the exterior of the box, so this happened pre packing. But...just hammered it flat and used the touch up pen they included and it was fine. TV sits on top anyways, so it cant be seen. ... show more

    • Okay Cheaper Furniture

It's not high end furniture at all but you get what you pay for. I did feel like the drawer bottoms were a bit flimsy. I also didn't receive them by mistake in the initial order but when I called South Shore's customer service they were very friendly and helpful. One thing the assembly doesn't mention is you should really use a hammer for the drawers to get the sides to line up properly. But don't do it too hard since it is plywood furniture. I was able to assemble it by myself and I have no carpentry experience. Usually furniture that you can assemble yourself isn't going to be high end. I do wish the back covered the whole dresser. There is a gap at the top and bottom, which isn't that obvious from the purchase info. The sides and back of the drawers are a little over 4 inches once assembled. The front part is about 7 inches when assembled. You can fit more clothes in the drawer if you fold them the way Marie Kondo does. ... show more

After owning this drawer for about 8 months, I've noticed that the bottom of each drawer has collapsed. I use this drawer for baby clothes, folded and organized...so I'm not sure how this is possible.

Very cheaply made, drawers come off track frequently even when trying to be careful, bottom piece of drawer is flimsy so fall through, particle board broke so rail came off a drawer and can't be reattached. I totally regret buying this piece. I wouldn't even get another if it were free!

Love the color and it seems sturdy. Just set it up, so far so good. The box is very heavy & it doesn’t come pre assembled at all. But the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
