This speaker Exceeded my expectations, and being a SoundCore collector, they were pretty High. I have a lot of bluetooth speakers, including a few from Soundcore, including the MotionBoom Plus and Motion 300. While the Motion 300 is still my all-round favorite for it's sound and portability, this Select 4 Go is much smaller and lighter weight, and holds it's own very well in the sound quality and loudness departments. I highly recommend using the app because, for me, most music sounds better on this speaker with the bass boosted. In fact, this is the first SoundCore speaker, or headphones for that matter, that I actually like the bass boost turned on most of the time. The others tend to sound muddy with it, and suppress the treble too much. Even with the bass boosted, the Select 4 Go keeps nice, crisp highs and warm, clean midrange. I'm hoping that Soundcore adds more EQ options, as they typically have for new offerings in the past, because I think this speaker is capable of more than the current 4 settings are allowing it to do. I only have one of these speakers and have tested it in several environments. I currently use the Motion 300 as my shower speaker and it sounds amazing with it's high fidelity stereo sound, but the Motion 4 Go would serve very well for this, too, and I have to think that a pair of them set up with True Wireless Stereo would probably win me over, if it weren't for the fact that the Motion 400 just fits perfectly in my shower's unused soap holder nook, and turning one speaker on instead of two is just more convenient. That being said, if I didn't already have the Motion 300, I'd probably opt to save a few dollars and get two of these little guys, instead, since two of these cost less than one of the Motion 300's. (Remember, that's my favorite portable speaker I'm talking about) Then again, if I was made of money, I'd just get two of the Motiom 300's and preemptively make an appointment for a hearing aid fitting. I've also used the Select 4 Go in my office at work, which is rather large since it's a control room that accommodates up to 6 technologists at a time and also holds a lot of equipment. Alone, this speaker filled the room with sound better than most of the bluetooth speaker PAIRS that I pitted it against in this scenario. Yes, they were cheaper speaker pairs, but they'd been happily used for the task in the past, and were simply outperfomed by this lone but mighty little guy. Again, I have to think that two would be more than ample for casual or small gathering listening in a medium sized room. I've also compared this with quite a few similarly sized items from other companies like JBL and Bose, and I have to say that, in my opinion, the Soundcore sounds about the same or slightly better than those, but with a much nicer price tag. I've had no problems with connectivity, so far, and setup is a breeze. If you're looking for a small, lightweight, rugged speaker that can actually pump out great sound without breaking your wallet, this is the way to go. I am consider ordering a second one to pair them in stereo, and will update if I do. ... show more

  • Can confirm: surpasses JBL Go 4. Very good little speakers.
Color: Green
I got two of both to compare in stereo mode. These are keepers, and the JBL’s are being returned. Not only are the Anker Soundcore Select 4 Go speakers a much better value (2 for a little under $50, versus 2 for $90+), but the Bluetooth connection when two speakers are paired is way more stable/doesn’t cut out at all, the battery life is 2.5x longer, the EQ control (in the app) is more comprehensive & effective, the stock sound has more clarity, and stereo mode actually sounds like true stereo mode (not just two speakers playing the same thing). They are indeed very similar, but the EQ capabilities & lower price give these ones the edge needed to surpass the others. The only things I’d say the JBL Go 4 has over the Soundcore 4 Go (lol) is a boomier bass (which could be a bad thing, as it makes them prone to vibrating) and a seemingly more durable build, including a USB-C port that doesn’t need to be covered to keep it safe from water. If that & branding to you are more important than sound quality, stable connectivity, and fifty bucks, the choice is yours. For me personally, those things are less important than sound quality especially, which is where the Soundcore has them beat. Out of the box, they sound clear & present without being sharp in the treble or too thumpy in the bass. You’re likely aware that you won’t get great bass out of any speaker this size, but it’s there, and it doesn’t cause the units to vibrate or bounce off the surface they’re placed on, which I prefer. For listening to music, I primarily use audiophile-grade open-back/over-ear headphones wired to a DAC/amp setup, but wanted something little to use in the shower, as a bedside white noise machine, and on the go if necessary (rare but it happens). I was originally just going to get one, but stereo sound (that can be rearranged, at that) was enticing enough for me to invest in a pair. I’m glad I found these! If you’re deciding between the two near-identical products, you *really* can’t go wrong with the Soundcore Select 4 Go, whether you get one or two. *I will be comparing these to their Motion 300 cousins to see if the apparent upgrade is worth the extra $100 (for my use case, I doubt it, but curiosity got the better of me), so I will update this review accordingly when I can. Update: I compared these to the Soundcore Motion 300 and like the Select 4 Go much better for my use case. I’m not using them for very loud music, and they handle quieter sound better, plus they are much lighter-weight and I prefer the tuning & lighter green color of them! Again, super happy with my lil Soundcore Select 4 Go units! :) ... show more

  • Great little speaker!
Color: Red
Now I will say it isn't on par with higher end Bluetooth speakers (I have a Marshall Emberton II as well) but this does do a couple things really well. Biggest plus is that I can set it to not turn off automatically, which other speakers have done in the past. This so far has not done that at all. And the water resistance is nice should I want to do some chores outside. (Or put this on my bicycle if I want to be that kind of jerk) Battery life is quite impressive for it's size, of course bigger speakers will last longer but I did need to charge it after 2 nights of 8+ hours of music at half volume. About the norm for my Marshall speaker so I'm happy. Connects easily and does have excellent range. (My Pixel 9 still played without audio lag even upstairs) The sound is nice and it can get rather loud. It does get a bit tinny at high volumes but for $25 I'm blown away by how it sounds. Definitely better than an old Anker speaker I had a couple years ago. (Can't remember the name but only a bit bigger) The build does seem decently rugged, haven't tested the water resistance but it is rated IP67. But that's only if the charging flap is closed, the speaker will be ruined if it's open and exposed to water. Regarding its durability I'd be careful about drops over 4 ft on hard surfaces, I'm doubtful it'll break but probably a good dent will occur. (Hopefully the speaker liner won't tear. All in all a very excellent speaker especially for $25. Not the best but does hit way above it's weight class. ... show more
