  • Favorite earbuds to date!
Color: Midnight Black Size: medium Style: Classic Edition
If you're still on the fence for getting these earbuds, just get them. Absolutely amazing sound comfort and feature functionality all wrapped up in a good price that doesn't burn your pockets. Normally I struggle with earbuds always falling out of my ears however, finally with these they stay in no matter how crazy the workout, dancing, or activity I'm doing. As for the sound? These things get LOUD! Which is what I was looking for. Excellent bass and clarity so nothing sounds muffled at high volumes. The ANC is well done on this. Does an excellent job of observing your surroundings to fit the scenario of taking away unwanted noise in the background. The hear ID was very simple to use in the app. The squeeze to touch was kind of weird at first, but honestly I've gotten used to it. In some ways it's better than the normal touch and press, so that way you're not pressing into your ear which I respect. Charging is pretty good honestly, and for a nice bonus you can charge these wirelessly. And to top it off they have a bunch of fitness, and hearing feature. It can detect heart rate at rest or when you work out, stress levels, and it even has a posture check. So if you are leaning down too much while using the earbuds, it'll let you know the percentage of your posture throughout the day, which I thought was a nice touch. There's a whole bunch of other features that are all done within the app. Overall the package of what you're getting in this price range is very stunning to say the least. I just wanted good sounding earbuds, but I ended up getting more. I came from the pro 3 model ( which I also recommend) into the this one and honestly this was a very well done upgrade to an already great line in this series. Highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Great, but not a upgrade from the Liberty 3 Pro
Color: Cloud White Size: medium Style: Classic Edition
I've been using the Liberty 3 Pro's for around 6 months now, and I think they're incredible (with some caveats, which i'll discuss later.). So when i saw that the Liberty 4 had released, I was incredibly excited. I thought "my favorite pair of earbuds, but better? Of course I'm gonna buy them." So i did. When i received them, the first thing i noticed was that the case was smaller, and the sliding mechanism felt much tighter, more sturdy. The L3Ps was a bit loose, and required significantly less force to open, and because of that, the case would occasionally open in my pocket, and if that lined up with time where I was using my phone and relying on the audio, it made for a few moments of frustration trying to figure out why my audio cut out. The worst part was that it happened just infrequently enough that i never got used to it, so each time, it took a bit to remember what the problem was. The L4s fix this, and the case feels amazing to open and close. The next thing I noticed was that the way the 4s fit into the case make it essentially foolproof to put them back into the case and ensure a good connection to the charging contacts. That was my biggest complaint about the L3Ps. I've owned FIVE pairs of them, and each time i returned them, it was because of the buds not connecting properly. Eventually, i gave up and discovered a trick. Put the buds into the case, close it, and bang it off of something hard. That solved it almost every time. Not an issue with the 4s. Another thing i liked about the 4s was that they didn't have the wings. Those were helpful on the L3Ps, but eventually they got sort of floppy and would constantly slide off of the buds, or rotate out of position, and because of that, their effectiveness dropped pretty significantly over time. Not a concern with the 4s, due to the stem shape. I wasn't sure I was going to like the pinch controls, but man, they're GREAT. No more accidentally tapping my earbuds while trying to adjust their postition in my ear. No more false inputs from my pillow if i sweat on it. In general, just a novel, and far smarter way to input commands. However, some have said that this just stops working randomly and never starts again. It also stops working on the right bud if you use any eartip except the factory tip, as it relies on the heartbeat detector for some reason, and any eartip that isn't clear will obstruct the light that the detector uses. The heartbeat detector measures variance in the timing between heartbeats. This is said to be a way to measure stress, though the multiple sources I read seemed somewhat doubtful that it's a reliable method. My app often told me that I was more stressed than 93 to 97 percent of users. Seems reliable in my case. There are other features, such as workout tracking, but let's just say I don't need that feature. Overall, this wasn't a useful suite of features for me, but it's definitely cool tech, and will be useful for many others. Everything so far has been better than the L3Ps, so why do i say they're not an upgrade? Because the audio and ANC are just not as good. The sound profile is overly siblant, and very harsh, with flat, lifeless bass. Mids sound fine, but that's about it. If you like to feel the music impact your ears, you won't get that from these. The L3Ps sound much better. The ANC is good on these, but I noticed during a work from home day when they died and I had to switch to my L3Ps that I could hear significantly less of my window unit AC with ANC on. I had already noticed the worse audio quality, but was prepared to accept it, but when I got to hear how noticeable the difference in ANC was, I realized that the only thing these had going for them over the L3Ps was the quality of life stuff, and that just wasn't enough for me, so sadly, I'm returning them. Do keep in mind though, these are a great set of earbuds, if you're coming from a cheaper set, but going from the L3Ps, it just wasn't worth the cost to me. ... show more

  • Fit my weird ears
Color: Nova Red Size: medium Style: Classic Edition
I have the Pixel Buds Pro and they sound really good but they have a tendency to "dislodge" from the spot where they seal, especially my left ear, which causes a loss of bass and sound intrusion. I really want to like them. Since I already have the Anker Soundcore Q20i over the ear headphones, which sound fantastic, I decided to try these Liberty 4's and glad I did. Half, or even less than half, the price of the PBP's and nearly the same sound quality. Plus, they don't move at all and stay sealed even when I walked/ran a 5K recently (in 23 degree weather). I routinely walk a dog that I sometimes run with. I'm happy with the PBP's when they stay sealed but my go to now is the Liberty 4's and I haven't worn the PBP's since. I stream music mostly using LiveXLive (Slacker), SiriusXM and Amazon Music, mostly rock, country, blues and jazz. I don't stream LDAC or very high quality music. I'm 54 with slight tinnitus but overall love clean sounding music, not low grade high compression with low fidelity. Like I said, very comparable to the PBP's in sound and ANC (noise canceling). ... show more
