  • Comfortable mattress
Size: Queen
I discovered SoundAsleep in the New York Times Wirecutter listing as best air mattress and completely agree with their assessment: "Our top pick since 2016, it has the best combination of comfort, customer service, availability, and owner satisfaction of any mattress we tested—and it has the quietest motor." I found the mattress to be definitely worth the money. It's easy to set up an inflate with its built-in pump. It's nice and thick so it's comfortable and you don't feel like you're sleeping on the floor. It deflates just as easily and packs away in a fairly small bag for such an ample mattress. I recently slept on a different brand of air mattress when visiting a friend and the comparison was striking, as my friend struggled to attach the pump to the mattress, inflated it with the loud pump, and I then slept on a less than comfortable mattress. The next time I visit them, I'm thinking of bringing along a SoundAsleep mattress as a gift to my host! ... show more

  • Best bed I have had for a very long time. (July 2023 Addendum)
Size: Twin XL
First, the basics. I purchased a "SoundAsleep Dream Series Air Mattress with ComfortCoil Technology". The size I purchased is a Twin XL. Everything that I read in the description for this Air Mattress is correct. The bed, out of the box, inflated in 5 minutes or less. The bed came very well packed in a box, and while the box had a few impact marks, the bed and the bag that it came packed in were in perfect condition. It also comes with a patch kit with I believe, enough material to patch two holes. The top has a waffled effect and it is "flocked", if that is the correct term. I like both as the "waffle" effect allow my shoulders and head to "sink into" the bed and for my back to get more support. The flocking is almost a skid resistant surface "holds" both blankets and sheets pretty much stay in place and prevents them from sliding around on the bed. The bed also has, when inflated, a kind of a raised bumper all the way around the edges which is very nice as it tells you where you are on the bed if you need to know. The top is supposed to be easy to clean which is a feature I hoped I would never have to us. Of course, that is not the case. On about the fifth night of sleeping on the bed I noticed that there was something on the mattress which turned out to be a piece of pie crust from one of the blankets I was using. The pie crust left an oily mark about two inches square. A little dish soapy water and the oily mark came right off and the mattress looks as good as new. No problem with the flocking coming off either. This is the most comfortable bed I have slept on in many, many years. My wife likes a bed that is almost rock hard which leaves my back and neck without support and aching when I get up in the morning. With this air mattress I can now adjust the bed to just how firm or soft I want it. I keep the bed inflated all the time and, so far, have only had to add air to it about every four to five days ~ 20-30 seconds and the mattress is back just where I like it. While the inflation/deflation fans are somewhat loud, only using them for 20-30 seconds once a week really makes the noise a non-issue. The electric cord for the fans even has a nice storage place built into the mattress to keep it out of the way. I was also concerned about getting hot sleeping on what is really a plastic surface. So far, I have been perfectly comfortable on this mattress. I suspect the flocking helps with that as well. I realize that this mattress is not really supposed to be an every night forever kind of a bed, but I am going to use it like that for as long as I can. I have been sleeping on it for six or seven weeks and have enjoyed it every night. When it wears out, provided it is still available, I will happily purchase another one. Addendum: One day earlier this week, it is now July 21, 2023, my Dream Series air mattress finally stopped retaining its air. At first it was a very slow leak, about 12 hours for the mattress to get "squishy". Last night it only took about 5 hours. Today I called the SoundAsleep support number and spoke with Casey. I can honestly say that for as much as I like the mattress, the customer support is even better. Not only was Casey pleasant and knowledgeable to talk to, she is going to replace my mattress and has even expedited the shipping on it. Yes, even though I am using the mattress as my long term bed which it is not meant for. So, in a couple of days I will have a new "dream" series mattress! The only drawback to this whole experience is that now I have to renew my search for an air mattress that is actually meant to be a "long term" bed and keep my SoundAsleep mattress as a backup. I sure hope I can find one that comes close to being as comfortable as my SoundAsleep mattress. This product and this company are keepers! ... show more

  • Easy and plush
Size: Queen
It was simple and quick to inflate. My sister used it and said the mattress was very comfortable with only one issue, it did not retain any warmth. She froze the entire night. I will be buying flannel sheets and a mattress cover for winter use, summer use should be just fine with regular sheets. It was just as easy to deflate and I was able to roll it up quickly to put it into the carry case, which was big enough to fit the mattress with no issues. Very sturdy and reasonably priced for the quality. ... show more

  • Good Mattress, Great Customer Service
Size: Twin XL
Wife and I love this mattress. She likes a soft bed, I'm more toward the firm side. We both found our sweet spot on this airbed. We bought this for a guest bed about 3 months ago, and it's been slept on by one of our friends for about 3 weeks. No complaints whatsoever. There are several other signature features worth noting too, ie; the wicked fast built-in pump, sturdy construction, and really comfy top panel. All around a quality airbed, at a reasonable price. This is no tent camping inflatable. Unfortunately, it sprung a tiny leak about 2 weeks back, and would not hold full pressure. When I finally located the leak, it was (as some may have guessed) right on a seam. The death rattle for an air bed.... You can try to repair a seam, but chances are the best you can hope for is to slow down the leak. I contacted Sound Asleep online and submittd a warranty claim. I got a phone call from customer service within 2 HOURS after submitting the claim! Didn't expect that. But wait, there's more. The rep listened to my song and dance, was courtious and respectful, and without further ado typed up the UPS waybill and told me a new bed would arrive in 3-4 days. I don't have to return the damged item, don't have to pay for shipping, and still retain the remainder of the original warranty. No arguing, no double-talk, no excuses. This was about as smooth, quick, and positive an outcome as I've experienced in quite awhile. Some CS reps will argue that's it's your fault, or you failed to comply with some obscure fine print, or just flat-out tell you that the warranty doesn't cover this or that. Anybody been there? No manufactured product is 100% free from defects, that's just the way it is. But an outfit that stands behind their product is worth a second chance. We'd buy again from these folks. And a special shout out to Casey, the rep who made this process painless. This is the way it should be done. ... show more
