First, the basics. I purchased a "SoundAsleep Dream Series Air Mattress with ComfortCoil Technology". The size I purchased is a Twin XL. Everything that I read in the description for this Air Mattress is correct. The bed, out of the box, inflated in 5 minutes or less. The bed came very well packed in a box, and while the box had a few impact marks, the bed and the bag that it came packed in were in perfect condition. It also comes with a patch kit with I believe, enough material to patch two holes. The top has a waffled effect and it is "flocked", if that is the correct term. I like both as the "waffle" effect allow my shoulders and head to "sink into" the bed and for my back to get more support. The flocking is almost a skid resistant surface "holds" both blankets and sheets pretty much stay in place and prevents them from sliding around on the bed. The bed also has, when inflated, a kind of a raised bumper all the way around the edges which is very nice as it tells you where you are on the bed if you need to know. The top is supposed to be easy to clean which is a feature I hoped I would never have to us. Of course, that is not the case. On about the fifth night of sleeping on the bed I noticed that there was something on the mattress which turned out to be a piece of pie crust from one of the blankets I was using. The pie crust left an oily mark about two inches square. A little dish soapy water and the oily mark came right off and the mattress looks as good as new. No problem with the flocking coming off either. This is the most comfortable bed I have slept on in many, many years. My wife likes a bed that is almost rock hard which leaves my back and neck without support and aching when I get up in the morning. With this air mattress I can now adjust the bed to just how firm or soft I want it. I keep the bed inflated all the time and, so far, have only had to add air to it about every four to five days ~ 20-30 seconds and the mattress is back just where I like it. While the inflation/deflation fans are somewhat loud, only using them for 20-30 seconds once a week really makes the noise a non-issue. The electric cord for the fans even has a nice storage place built into the mattress to keep it out of the way. I was also concerned about getting hot sleeping on what is really a plastic surface. So far, I have been perfectly comfortable on this mattress. I suspect the flocking helps with that as well. I realize that this mattress is not really supposed to be an every night forever kind of a bed, but I am going to use it like that for as long as I can. I have been sleeping on it for six or seven weeks and have enjoyed it every night. When it wears out, provided it is still available, I will happily purchase another one. ... show more

There is a definite chemical smell when first removing it from the plastic, which permeates the room (and beyond) when it is laid out. I opened the windows to let it air out, and I personally would not want to use it until that smell is gone. The blue top feels like suede, and attracts lint from bed linen. Air mattresses seem to be built with a wide rim around the edge, which makes the sleeping area actually smaller than a regular mattress, so you roll over that edge to get onto the mattress. There are also depressions all over the top for the coils, which create more unevenness. When fully inflated, the blue top is quite hard. Those issues automatically make it less comfortable than a regular mattress, so I found that adding a very thick puffy topper was required, and also added a 2" gel memory foam topper under that to create a comfortable sleeping experience. Of the videos attached to the reviews on the Amazon website, I found the most helpful one was submitted by Scotts Honest Reviews ("After 20+ Uses Update:SoundAsleep Dream Series Air Mattress"), which explained how mattress stretching and loss of air is normal. My guest used this mattress for a week, with the two toppers I mentioned previously, and she slept quite comfortably, re-inflating it a little every day to top it off. ... show more

I bought this to replace my old mattress so it’s going to be a permanent thing for a few months . As others have said the customer service is exceptional , well I can vouch for that and I hadn’t even ordered the thing. They don’t recommend permanent use and gave me some good tips . I bought a canvas drop cloth , wrapped the mattress in that then set the bed etc . So popping shouldent be a problem . Others have said it inflates in 5 mins , I disagree , from scratch it took about an hour as the thermo cut out cuts in . Thing is very comfy , and you can deflate and inflate it to adjust how soft or firm it is . Had a great nights sleep on it last night , and then a very comfy sleep this afternoon . If you want this as a temp guest bed , or for camping ( bear in mind it needs mains voltage to inflate) it’s great . Comes in a carry bag , isn’t too large , is quite well made and like I said …really comfy . ... show more

We inflated the new SoundAsleep Q mattress in preparation for our daughter’s visit 3 days before she arrived. after day 1, the inflated mattress lost some air, I touched it up with more air; day 2 it lost even more air, added more air; and on day 3, it was very soggy and no one has even used the bed yet. I called customer service because the mattress was obviously leaking air from somewhere. Casey agreed there was a problem with the item and would set up a replacement to be sent right away. Thank you SoundAsleep, It’s such a pleasure to have a company back up its product with great customer service! I look forward to receiving and using the replacement bed. ... show more

First off I don't think you can really boast & brag about an air mattress, but the SoundAsleep air mattress is fantastic! I bought a queen size and it's perfect. The edges & corners hold good. Air maintains but every so many days you can always top it off. Really good air mattress!! Now to the Customer Service side to their business. I had my air mattress maybe 5 months and the Intake just shorted out. Deflate was good but Inflate just stopped. Emailed SoundAsleep directly on the weekend and called them on Monday. Casey was the person who handled everything flawlessly. Talked about what was going and was knocked off my feet when I saw a I was getting a UPS package later in the week. I mean absolutely top-notch customer service/support. If companies had as amazing customer service as SoundAsleep has, there would be a lot more happy people if things happened with products!
