The media could not be loaded. So I wanted to buy a piano for my husband who has great musical skills and likes to practice without disturbing the entire neighborhood. We wanted a low maintenance piano that looks great, sounds good and does not require tuning. We looked at many options online as well as in music stores and because of price we decided to check on Amazon. Definitely you will get 100s of options as soon as you search for digital upright piano. The black wooden cabinet was an important criteria to match our sitting room furniture. For my husband it was the keys and sound quality. Long story short we had about 4 different models with the same price range but this Souidmy piano had a bit of an advantage over the other brands: high quality keys and sound quality as highlighted in the product description. Here is why I am giving four stars only because of some esthetics and not sound or build quality: Pros: - Very realistic piano sound and good resonance effect - The keys feel similar to the ones found on grand pianos - The dynamic and action are phenomenal and keeps piano players play again and again. Cons: - The logo letters are very easy to peel off and this is a bit annoying. - The pedal cable that attaches to the back is visible as a dangling loose cable and needs to have clips to hold it. - Instructions manual needs to be revised for typos. I believe it is intended for more than beginners. This is more for advanced players.     • Great practice piano for adult beginner with good sound quality

The media could not be loaded. With the routine accompany to my daughter's piano private class, I was kind of frustrated by the progress and performance of the kids. I thought I could do better, which motivates me to start practicing for the state piano level test piece with my daughter. We‘ve had a Kawaii upright piano at home for her daily practice. Then the problem occurred that I can only play when the kids went to sleep. Most of the time, I have to reduce the volume with the damper pedal in place. It makes the sound terrible for me and sometimes still loud enough to wake up the family. In addition, when we are both free to play. The priority of course has to be given to the kid. With some research, I determined to get this digital piano for myself that I can practice quietly. The piano comes in a compact package with good protection around it. Literally no assembly and ready to play out of the box. I have a stand from a keyboard that fits the piano very well. The key touch is a bit softer than the Kawaii but very close to the Yamaha had by our friend. The feedback is no different from a mechanical piano with balanced hammers for me. The sound output can go with speakers or headphones. The speaker sound quality is slightly different from our upright piano if listening carefully, especially at the lowest and highest pitch sides, I assume it is the limit by the speaker performance. Nevertheless, when listening by a headphone plugged in, the sound quality is pretty much the same as a mechanical piano and this is the dominant mode when I practice. The close performance and touch as a real piano make me have no difficulty playing on other pianos. It is really a cost-effective investment with 1/20 of the price of the Kawaii offering the opportunity for an adult beginner on piano at such old age. A practice video of mine is attached. The funny fact is I did learn much faster than my daughter that I can better her practice now. It is a pity the state piano test is opening to kids that I am practicing for the ABRSM Grade 1 test together with my daughter. My fast progress with much less practicing time is a strong motivation to her. I'm glad about the decision of purchasing this piano. ... show more

    • Excellent weighted key piano for beginners on a budget
The media could not be loaded. For me, this is an upgrade from a non-weighted key keyboard. I've only been playing for little over a year, but I wanted the experience of playing on a piano with full weighted keys. This Souidmy piano made it absolutely affordable for a beginner like myself to do that. I really like the sound of the grand piano tone, which is what I'll primarily be using. In addition to that, it has 127 other instruments and sound effects which are fun to play around with. There are a bunch of other features which I haven't had a chance to try out yet. But one really neat feature is that it has Bluetooth, so you can use the piano as a Bluetooth speaker. And while you have music streaming thru the speakers, you can still play the piano too. There's no mention of the Bluetooth feature in the instruction manual. If there's one area for improvement, I would say that the instruction manual could be more detailed and more clearly written. Some of the instructions were actually a bit confusing to me. Another confusing thing is that it's advertised as model # G-310W, but on the box and in the user manual, the model # is SEP-8802. It is the same piano, though the piano itself doesn't have a model # labeled on it. Aside from that, I really like the piano a lot. It feels very sturdy as the case is made of wood, not plastic. I've never had a real acoustic piano, so I can't comment on how closely the keys feel compared to the real thing, but it's definitely much different from the springy non-weighted keys. A few other things I like is that it comes with a sustain pedal and a carry/storage bag. And I like that it has 2 headphone jacks in the front for easy access. I'm really enjoying playing it and hoping it will help me to continue to learn and improve. ... show more

    • Dull sound, keys too heavy
Pros: The keys are graded and fully weighted but heavier than an acoustic piano. It’s perfect as a practice piano that strengthens fingers. The keys feel like real ivory. Cons: Even though, it has an option to adjust to a lighter key weighs, the sound remains dull and muffled in any setting.The sustain pedal doesn’t last as long as an acoustic. I returned it with some regret. As an intermediate player I couldn’t rely on it to improve my touch sensitivity during crescendo/decrescendo. Make sure to order a stand. ... show more
