    • Awesome headphones at a great price
I bought the "renewed" version of the Sony WH1000XM3 for a significant discount from the typical $350 price. If you're worried about whether you're still getting the full experience... don't be! I haven't had a single problem with them. These headphones are AWESOME. They've changed my listening habits, whether at the office, at home, or on the go. Sound quality--fantastic. I listen to a lot of piano music and I've started noticing that I can hear tiny details for the first time, like the pianist breathing or humming. It's eery at first but now I feel like I don't want to listen with anything else. Noise cancelling--excellent. It's awesome on airplanes, and even drowns out about 70% of the LOUD subway train noise on my commute. There's also an "ambient sound" mode so you can hear the world around you--so when you're walking on the street no one creeps up on you or anything. Easy to switch on/off depending on where you are. Battery life--great, haven't run out of battery yet. Charges with USB-C which is great so I don't have to keep micro-USB chargers lying around like with many other bluetooth headsets. Comfort--very good. Fairly light. Working from home these days, I wear them a LOT and all I need to do is occasionally adjust them to spread out the weight on my scalp (an issue with most over-the-ear headphones). They are very cozy--WONDERFUL in winter, they do make my head a tiny bit sweaty on warmer days walking outside... not unpleasant, but I do worry about making the nice faux-leather padding grimy over the long term. I wouldn't recommend exercising in them for this reason, but up to you. Call quality--fine, good; I hear other people fine and haven't had any complaints about my audio from others. It'll never be as good as a dedicated external microphone, but for 99% of my calls or virtual meetings, it works great and is still better than my macbook's native mic.     • Amazing as advertised
I have to start off by saying I rarely 5 star anything, feel free to look at my history as verification, especially anything audio related. These headphones however are as advertised and reviewed by most as simply being amazing especially if your a basshead like I am. The sound is incredible, crisp clear sound across all spectrums, if you have been looking for good bass headphones this is where it's at. I have been disappointed for years looking for headphones that have heavy bass that also doesn't compromise on other features such as being distorted or ruining other audio features but these do not. I will also say I downloaded the application to tweak it to my specific preference and I highly recommend anyone do the same, it's not required to get good sound but it's a simple way to turn good sound into great! Don't worry the application is very simple to use so if using an application scares you keep in mind this one should not. The headphones are also highly durable and can withstand some bending, they also come in a nice carrying case for the go. The earmuffs are very comfortable for long use periods and they are not ridiculous levels of bulky like many other bass headphones are. I have already used these headphones for atleast 500 hours and they show no signs of wear (I wipe off any sweat if there is any as soon as I take them off to keep them clean and increase earmuff covers life span) and the battery life has not noticibly decreased. Even with heavy daily usage these have yet to die on me a single time, they seem to be able to go most the day even on high bass, I love it. I also chose these over the XM4 because reviews showed XM3 had higher bass, I have not used the XM4 to compare for myself personally but I feel this is something to keep in mind. Apparently the XM4 has better noise cancelling and xm3 better bass, these xm3s noise cancel very well also just make sure you have it active when you need it, there's a button to change it from off, on and partial. ... show more

    • Top Tier Noise Cancelling, Excellent Comfort, Decent Sound
After searching for the right pair of travel headphones, I've finally landed on one I'm entirely satisfied with. I've gone through Sony (M2), Bose, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, AKG, and countless others trying to find the right combination of comfort, sound quality, and noise-cancelling. This one has it. Comfort: These headphones are light. Very light. When it comes to travel, that's exactly what you want, especially when the trips start pushing 5+ hours. I feel more prone to fatigue than others when it comes to wearing headphones, but this is the first pair I've worn practically all day without really getting tired of them. Once you put them on and get some sound pumping through, they practically disappear from your mind. Sound Quality: The sound isn't top tier, but is better than adequate. When it comes to wireless headphones, you're already making a sacrifice on quality just to pump that sound through Bluetooth. However, these headphones are able to leverage LDAC to make the quality as high as possible. If your phone has that option, enable it. It's a night and day difference for me and I'd be less inclined to enjoy these headphones without LDAC. Even with all the best phone settings turned on, I've heard better from other headphones, especially at the 300+ range, but these aren't intended to give you the highest sound quality. They're able to deliver decent sound while also being wireless, lightweight, and noise-cancelling. All things considered, it's able to pump out perfectly good sound considering you might be 30,000 ft in the air sitting 20ft away from a jet engine. Or maybe you're just trying to drown out some office noise (me). Noise Cancelling: These headphones have the best noise cancelling I've experienced yet. It's not perfect, but no noise-cancelling tech ever is. It perfectly hides the low hum and drones of nearby engines or a/c units. It masks higher tones like the wind whistling by your ears. It won't eliminate the voice of a noisy coworker, but it'll reduce it to the point where you can finally tone it out and get some dang work done... The app is a necessary accessory to properly utilize these headphones. You'll want to play with the noise cancelling tech and get the head pressure feeling right for you. You'll also want to "optimize" the noise-cancelling tech by holding down the ambient noise button whenever you're in a different sound situation. All in all, these are a solid pair of phones that do a great job of doing what they were designed to do: wirelessly and comfortably drown out ambient noise for extended periods of travel (or office work) while simultaneously delivering reasonably good sound! ... show more
