  • Good & Comfy for the Price
Color: Black
Comfortable and easy to wear for hours without my ears hurting. Sony has nailed the design for long term wear for all wireless Bluetooth earbuds I've owned. Does not fall out easily and fits ergonomically. I am confident I won't lose these easily. I love the large button pressed to control music, calls, etc. I enjoy that it's not touch-sensitive like Samsung earbuds, which have been falsely set off by my hair or beanie. My complaints: these buttons are not programmable: what type of madman want people to press 4 times to change volume up/down? I would also love a "Find Earbuds" function if they are connected to a device, but the owner isn't sure where they placed them. Noise cancellation is non-existent, but you have ambient sound (listen to your surroundings) if you wish to have both music and some situational awareness. The case is *slim*, much slimmer than Sony's previous cases. Sound is very decent for the price. With the latest iterations of Bluetooth, these earbuds can be connected to 2 devices at a time, but they cannot play sound from both sources at once. All in all, I recommend if you need a decent and comfortable pair of earbuds with which to listen to music and audio for hours. Sometimes, I use them for more than 6 hours and I'm surprised the battery still goes strong. I've been using them for 5 months now, and like other Sony earbuds I've owned in the past, I expect their longevity to last years. ... show more

  • Exceptionally good, amazing even, 'buds at a great price
Color: Black
These are amazing. The sound quality is very good. They don't fall out of my ears (all other earbuds i've had, lots of them, don't stay in my ears. Even my AirPods Pro 2 fall out of my ears, but not these. Although they lack noise cancelation, they do significantly reduce environmental noise. The buds form a tight seal, and turning off the Ambient Noise feature makes them effectively noise canceling. BUT, the most impressive feature is the water resistance. I, ummmmmmm, left them in my pants pocket, forgot they were there, and put the pants in the washing machine. Yeah, very much bad not good. The were in there for about 15 minutes total, and 5 minutes into the Wash cycle. So, I remembered that I'd left them in my pants pocket, and that they were in the wash. I fished them out (they'd fallen out of my pants pocket and were on the bottom of the tub, under all the T-shirts, socks, other pants . . . ), and set them on my desk to dry. That night I put them in a UV dryer and cycled it several times. The next morning I tested them AND THEY WORKED. Holy Moly Batman! These are tough buds. ... show more

  • Fit and sound are good. The app is a must!
Color: White
First things first, at just under $50, I had my doubts, yet hopeful as Sony doesn’t typically put their name on junk nor make junk either anymore. SOUND QUALITY is great, once the right tips are put on and the app is used to dial in the sound preference you like. I had the clear bass all the way up and fine tuned the other 5 bands for the mids and highs. It’s basically a 6 band eq, with the clear bass being the far left one for the bass we all love. FIT is comfortable, yet they stay put. I even like the size of the case, which is very pocket friendly. ALL IN ALL, the price is right. The sound is good. The battery life is extremely good at a rated 11 hours of listening. Their only con I can come up with is that at higher volumes, over 80%, the bass does drop off a bit. But this is to keep the earbuds from blowing. I found the 3/4 volume to still be great and satisfying. ... show more

  • Good Value for the Price, with Some Clear Limitations
Color: Black
I purchased the Sony WF-C510 for around $50 or less, and considering that price point, I am generally satisfied with the product. Below is my experience after a few weeks of use. Sound: For the price, the sound profile is good and well balanced. The bass is present, though not very powerful compared to more expensive models. As a user who has owned higher-end earbuds, I do notice a lack of depth in the low frequencies, but at this price range, that is acceptable. You cannot expect premium bass performance from a budget model, and within those limits, the sound is decent. Comfort: The earbuds are small and lightweight, and after some time you barely notice you are wearing them. They are comfortable enough to use while lying in bed, and if they had touch controls, you could even listen while resting on one side without discomfort. That said, the fit is not perfect for me. They do not feel 100% secure at all times, and I occasionally need to readjust them manually. It is not frequent, but it is an area that could be improved. Buttons: For the price, I did not expect touch controls, but the physical buttons can be inconvenient at times. Pressing them often causes the earbud to move out of position, which then requires readjustment. Microphone: Based on feedback from my wife during phone calls, there was noticeable background noise on my end. I cannot provide a very detailed review of the microphone, but this was the main comment I received during the three weeks of use. Would I recommend them? It depends on the use case. I would not recommend them for intense workouts. If you are very demanding about sound quality or expect a high-end audio profile, these will likely disappoint you. However, for walking, office use, or casual listening—and if you are not very demanding about sound quality—they are a good option for the price. Note: I have used the Jabra Elite 75t for about two years (originally $199) and have been using the Sony WH-1000XM3 for four years. Obviously, this is not a fair comparison, as the difference in sound quality is significant. Still, considering the price of the WF-C510, they are worth it if you are not overly demanding about audio performance. ============================ Update after a few months of use: ============================ After a couple of months with the Sony WF-C510, my overall opinion remains mostly the same, but I can now add a few clearer conclusions. The biggest downside is definitely the microphone. Call quality has consistently been poor. On several occasions during meetings, I had to disconnect them and switch to other headphones to continue the call. Background noise isolation for the mic is weak, and for professional use, they are simply not reliable. The sound profile is still good for the price. It remains balanced and acceptable within its budget category. However, if you are used to earbuds in the $150+ range, these will likely feel underpowered and lacking depth. The difference in presence, clarity, and overall audio richness becomes more noticeable over time. Would I buy them again? Probably not. While they are not bad for the price, I personally prefer stronger audio performance and more depth, even if that means paying more. Overall, my experience is neutral — not bad, not exceptional. They deliver what you would expect from a $48 pair of earbuds, but they do not meet my personal expectations, which are influenced by years of using higher-end models. ... show more

  • Review based on the sale Price of $48
Color: Yellow
Sony has always been, and is, good quality at a good price. I guess this is the new version of the wf-c500. I loved those for their great sound, long battery life and comfort. I worked construction and was pretty hard on them, but they could take the beating quite well. With this new set, the battery life was increased from 10 hours to 11. They're even more comfortable. They changed the communication from a female voice to different tones to inform you about connection, low battery, etc. I preferred the voice. These are solid. I'd buy them again. ... show more

  • Disappointing at best
Color: Black
I purchased this set when there was a price drop (down to $59, at the time of purchase). It is now $48, at the time of this review. I am still within my return window, but it's still OK, and I have too much going on right now, I can't be bothered. Off the top, there are 3 things I like about these buds. - they are SUPER comfortable, the best I have tried. In the last 2 years, I have been on a mission to find a super pair. I have tried about 10-15 different products at this point, some expensive like Bose and some cheap like Reccon. These are by far the most comfortable. Even after an entire day of work (audio on and off through the day), they disappear and I forget they are there. - the 'ambient mode' is also very good. I thinkntheybcall it aggmented reality where you can amplify some sounds (I don't known the criteria at the moment) and suppression mode. The suppression is very good also, as good as my Beats over-the-ear. Imagine, an in-ear bud that suppresses as well as a good over-the-ear headphone. - the battery-life seems great. However, battery-life tends to degrade after some time, so we'll see how it goes. Now for the bad - there are only 2 buttons, one per side. You can't control the volume. I can't find how, even going through the instruction 'sheet' - I think ear buds or ear phones that require an app is ridiculous. They should Just-work. I get it, you can customize it. I've had several buds that 'require an app', but I don't download the apps for any reason, but they still 'just work' properly with no app. - related to the above points, you cannot customers these buds for volume control. There are 2 buttons. Ibuse them the way they came, which is left-button (ambient/mode), right button (what they call media control, which is only a 'play button'. No volume, no skip, nothing. - out of all the buds I have tried, the volume on these buds are really low. You can max the volume on the phone, not on the bud, but the volume is super low. I am currently using 3 sets of buds and a set of headphones: SoundSourrce A1, a Chinese pair I liked with wireless Qi charging, this Sony bud and my Beats headphones (the oldest one I have). Why? I use the Soundsource while sleeping. They are the second most comfortable and you cannot accidentally press the buttons. And most mornings, they are still in my ears, and I'm a tosser. I also use them in the shower. They seem to be the mist waterproof. They do eventually fall out whennwet. The Chinese ones are the loudest, and I use them while driving. I use them for GPS notifications, not much phone calls or music. I wore them in the shower by accident once and one side cut out. It cane back after a 5 minute drip-dry. They have the 'ear hook' which work well, but they also get caught on the pillows and blankets so I consider myself lucky when I wake up with even one still in my ear. They are also 'touch sensitive', so you can change things, just by readjusting them or sleeping. This set of Sony buds, I'm kind of just evaluating them as they are my newest pair. So far, they are not the ultimate buds, so I'm using multiple buds. I use the Beats at work because they sound the best, good controls, but the cushions are too small, they hurt after an hour or so. In the end, I am disappointed because for $59 (the price I paid), is outperformed by a Chinese brand (Sound source A1, AKA Anker), which I believe I paid about $50 for. I've had 2 of these. The first pair was actually better than the new pair, but the old pair's battery-life diminished. Unused them for about 2-3 years before in replaced them with a new pair of A1 (current pair, which I've had about 6 months.) ... show more

  • Sony WF-C510 -- Good Audio For Cheap
Color: Black
1) The sound of the WF-C510 is really good right out of the box without EQ. I listen to a lot of music, various genres, and everything is balanced and in control. Punchy bass, treble that's crisp and doesn't make my ears bleed, and decent mids. I definitely trust Sony when it comes to audio products. 2) Fit and comfort are amazing! I can leave these in all day. No joke, after 5+ hours of use, I feel zero discomfort. Not only are these earbuds the most comfortable earbuds of all time, but getting a good in-ear seal is effortless. Just set them and forget them, zero hassle. Just to note, there's no ANC but I don't mind; I use these at home where it's already quiet. Further, there's a feature called Ambient Sound Control, kind of the opposite of ANC, that lets outside noises in (press button on left earbud). Obviously, the volume has to be pretty low for this feature to be useful. 3) I rarely ever use playback controls on a pair of earbuds, as I just use my phone for that stuff. However, the physical buttons on the WF-C510 work like they should and it's always nice to have actual buttons over touch controls, mainly because there's less chance for accidental inputs, a common occurrence on my other earbuds. 4) The battery life seems to jive with Sony's claims of 11 hours in the buds and another 11 in the case. I'm getting a 50% battery level after 5+ hours at a volume level above half with the "Sony Sound Connect" app installed on my phone. I'll admit, the 11 hour battery claim was the #1 factor for my purchase. 5) The app gives you a ton of stuff to play around with. There's a bunch of EQs, 360 audio (more app downloads and payment required, I think), information regarding battery levels, and more. 6) A couple of oddities: The charging case confuses me. Does the orange light turn off when charging is complete or does it stay lit? I've experienced both scenarios and both times the app said the earbuds and case were at 100%. The instruction manual was no help. Also, for some reason I had to re-pair the earbuds to my phone's Bluetooth after shutting it off, which was super annoying. I was testing to see if an older device (without the app) would pair, so to avoid interference I turned off my phone's Bluetooth. The older device paired with the earbuds just fine without the app, so it isn't required. I plan on deleting it; it's probably a major battery hog anyway. 7) Minor issues aside, the Sony WF-C510 delivers premium comfort and pleasing sound. and they're super affordable. Get yours today! lol Update 3/25 -- Checking in to mention that the orange charging light on the case does in fact shut off to indicate that charging is complete and I'm still very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Worth the quality you are paying for.
Color: White
These are amazing. I purchased these after I had purchased some less expensive earbuds. My previous earbuds were cheap and so poorly crafted. The noise was so loud on the very first volume setting. They were absolutely terrible. Anyway, THESE are perfect. The sound is clear and accurate to its volume setting. There's no weird buttons on the earbuds that are going to interrupt your listening of any kind. I also appreciate how you don't have a lot of options on the actual earbuds itself. You download the Sony app, and there, all your settings and adjustments are in one place. With my last earbuds, if I touched any part of the earbud, the volume with skyrocket or it would skip to the next song or video. Not to rag on my previous earbuds, but they were terrible, and THESE are awesome. They're worth what you're paying for. If you want quality, you will have to pay for it. I am thrilled with these. ... show more
