I don’t usually leave reviews, but this speaker has treated us so well that after two years of hard use, we felt the need to let people know this is a top choice. We bought two of these, one for myself and one for my wife. I mostly keep mine out in my diary woodshop, and We use my wife’s mostly and have taken it out tubing on the creek many, many times. Our creek has class II rapids, nothing crazy, but enough that we have dropped and fully submerged it in the water multiple times per trip and have never had a single issue. One of us keeps the phone in a water bag, the other keeps the speaker and the Bluetooth connection is strong and stays fully intact. The only time the connection gets spotty is when we get about 100 yards from each other. It is durable, amazing sound quality, deep bass for the size and price- full, rich music sound. The size is really nice and convenient for taking it around with you. It’s great for adventures or just sitting on the deck. Would recommend 100% ... show more

Ever since getting sony's MDR-XB950 headphones, I've trusted Sony audio products over anyone else. I'm big on quality bass. I like a sound register that is a *little* bit muddy from bass. I'm a basshead, and love hard hitting bass. I was shopping around for portable speakers for work. Something small that still provides good bass. For the size of this thing, the bass is incredibly good. Of course, it's not some incredibly powerful bass and isn't going to replace any sound systems. But it's a very small speaker, and it's better than speakers I've had that are the same size, and even some that are significantly larger. Only 3 1/2 inches tall and across, it's a cute little thing that packs a punch larger than itself, and more than does the job for a work setting. So, as always, in Sony I trust. ... show more

    • Good Bass, But Not Loud
I purchased these for a reduced price during Prime Day because I was looking for a small, quality portable speaker (mainly to travel with). While this Sony speaker does meet those expectations, I am a bit disappointed that it is not as loud as I'd hope. Although ads for this speaker show that it can be used at the beach and other semi-noisy environments, I find that this speaker is more suitable for small rooms and quiet areas. Recently I hosted a cocktail hour on the porch of a clubhouse and thought I'd bring my Sony along for some background music as guests we're coming for drinks... even with the media volume turned all the way up on my phone (source of music), the sound from the speaker was not really heard until you were probably within 4-3ft of the speaker (even without the area being crowded). I find that the sound from this Sony is more deep and bass focused. It does quake a little when set down on a table 😊! Since I also purchased my bf the JBL Go2 (another small speaker) as it was also on sale during Prime Day, I decided to compare the two sounds. The JBL Go2 although a bit smaller was definitely more loud. Sound quality also crisp, but did not execute as much bass as the Sony. It was also about$10 less than the Sony. If asked my opinion about suitable environments to use either small speaker, I'd take the JBL to the beach and for travel, and use the Sony when I'm taking a shower or cleaning my room or working in my office. Another great thing I liked about the Sony was how easy it was to pair with my phone (Google Pixel 6). As soon as I turned on the speaker the prompt came up on my phone to pair! Overall I am happy with my purchase especially since I got this on sale! I'd probably be disappointed if I paid over $50 for it. ... show more

We brought this speaker to play songs. It was really easy to carry and connect devices. The sound quality was awesome! We could hear each and every word of the songs clearly! This little speaker packs a punch! The bass is fabulous! My family and friends have had several portable speakers over the years and I just don't find any with the same sound quality as Sony (in this price range). I don't know why others complain about the loudness, other than just not understanding how speakers work. One this size is not going to give you pool party at Vegas sound. The bigger the speaker, the bigger the sound. But for this size, it's pretty loud! And for the size, it's great for travel, which is why I bought it. Absolutely recommend! ... show more
