Although the price is rather steep for such an outdated system I was more than pleased with my purchase! I received a midnight blue PSP 1001 series with a battery and charger included as pictured. The battery is OEM from sony and holds a charge for an exceptional amount of time. The PSP itself was in great condition with minor scratches on the battery cover and some show of it's age but it functions perfectly in all aspects! PSP has obvious wear but I guess I'm grateful it turns on at all. It was filthy, absolutely disgusting, cleaned it with a rag and sewing needle to get it the crevices and speaker. The one they sent me is a Japanese import, it works the same but I can't read any of it. Does not come with a memory stick apparently. Has some of previous owners data...and I can't read anything to change it. Maybe this is what the money gets you? But if I knew what I was getting, I'd have shopped more. This was a great deal! I purchased this PSP while on deployment and I had it modified to a custom OS. I play games, back up of legally owned games, music, movies, etc. I can access internet or my LAN with it and I can load different memory cards with different files so I can insert my daughters memory card hand her the game system, and let her play all her kids games and with a flick of the fingers I can swap cards and be playing SOCOM in no time! Worked perfectly and has good battery life. A++ and I would say that this is the best handheld I have ever had the pleasure of owning. ... show more

I bought this PSP for my son and he loves it. It came a few days before the estimated delivery date, which was awesome. The seller had described it as having some scratches on the screen, but to be honest, I would never have even noticed them if I hadn't already known they were there. In fact, I'm surprised the seller even noticed them. They're just barely visible, and that's if you know to look for them. There was even a game already in it, although I suppose that could've been left there by accident lol. Overall it was in really good condition and we're very happy with it. ... show more

So I have been out on deployment for the last 7 months. I bought the PSP and it was marked as Very Good quality. I'm normally not one to buy used gaming systems but seeing as this model no longer can be bought new without paying a fortune I decided I'd buy a used version. I get home from deployment and I've got just the system nothing more. No charging cable to charge the system. Picture for the products shows it with a charging cable so expected their to be one. Finally got the charging cable and get it charged. I go to connect to the Internet and it won't connect. I'm not some tech guru but I do know how to connect to a WiFi signal. So I troubleshoot and nothing works. Now I'm a bit more upset because I can't update this thing. I insert the game and update it to the new game patch version and I'm a bit satisfied that worked. Go to play the game and realize the memory stick isn't being recognized by the system. It is a new memory stick bought it new with charger since I knew I'd need it. Upset that doesn't work then I realize that the analog stick doesn't work or the system is being told it's being pressed causing the directional pad to not work either. So now I can't even play my games, then on closer inspection I realize that the case is split and separating and on top of that the batter cover is also jacked up from where it wasn't put on correctly and then forced on. I'm more than pissed at the state I got this game in and the lack of support equipment that would normal come with the system and then to be lied that the system I bought was in Very GOOD quality when it was obviously not just upset me more and I can't even return it because my window for a return is expired. ... show more

    • A nice version, with some drawbacks

(is is written assuming you already know a little about the PSP and is deciding which version to get) This is the first version of the PSP. It's built more solid than the later versions and is completely hackable for Custom Firmware. The screen is also good however the buttons are a little less responsive at times and the analog stick is also pretty bad. Both of those are improved in newer versions, something to think about if you are buying this version. The UMD door is more prone to break on this than the newer ones though I've never had the issue. Last, newer versions have more built in memory acting as cache. If you can get over than though, you have a solid hand held ( that will withstand drops on the floor unlike the slim ones) ready for more years of enjoyment. ... show more

Unit works great. Hit a little snafu as the battery wasnt charging for some reason but the seller went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Other than that my husband says it works great and looks like it has been well-cared for.
