  • Reasonably priced wired headphones, good quality sound
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
Pleasantly pleased with the sound quality and comfort of these headphones. They are a good replacement for an old set used for KORG keyboard. Cable inserts securely into keyboard, cord is sufficiently long as to not interfere with instrument use. Noise cancelling is mediocre but that was not an important criteria for me. I needed a comfortable set of wired headphones not a professional grade product. This fit the bill. ... show more

  • Durable, and great for someone who hates earbuds
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
I bought these for my husband, who is extremely hard on headphones, hates earbuds, and isn’t great with wireless because he forgets to charge things. We got them at a great price, and they’re still working like new after 4 years. They’re comfortable, the sound quality is excellent, and the wired design is perfect for someone who wants to avoid charging hassles. Highly recommend if you need durable, reliable headphones that actually last. ... show more

  • Great for the Price and DURABLE!
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
I bought these back in 2016 and have used them on and off since then. Most recently as a college student, driving my need for wireless option. SOUND QUALITY: While the sound quality is adequate, I am a person who loves heavy bass, which this does not give, but the sound quality overall is pretty good. NOISE CANCELLATION: It also does not completely cancel out noice, but does muffle/buffer it. In Starbucks, I had to turn up the volume on my computer to 75% to drown out talking. Likewise, poolside at the YMCA, I also have to amp up the volume to get any true buffering from the high sound. I am easily distractible so these are not ideal for noise distractions. Even at home with dogs and kids, I find that, no matter what, I have to amp up the volume for buffering, otherwise I hear quite a bit. I don't notice a significant difference in turning off the ANC. The same goes for vacuuming, yard work (such as using a blower) and mowing the lawn. COMFORT: The headphones are over ear and pretty comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I have yet to experience significant fatigue from it. I don't notice any extensive sweating while wearing them, either, which some have said is an issue with over the ear headphones. Granted, I'm not sleeping in them, either. DURABILITY: Over the several affordable on/over ear headphones I purchased for my daughters' use with online work, these were the ones she kept coming to and the only ones that have held up over the years. The cord is pretty durable, especially since I don't have a case for it and it often gets tossed into a drawer or backpack willy-nilly (yes, an outdated term, I know). COMPARABILITY: I have tried the Bose SoundLink II and Beats Solo3, both wireless headphones. If you are looking for comparable sound, you won't find it. Both Bose and Beats have these headphones beat, as would be expected based on price! However, I see quite a few complaints regarding durability of the material over time. I have no experience with comparison of Bose or Beats as these are recent purchases from family members. I can attest to the durability of my Sony headphones. CONVENIENCE: I like that my Sony headphones can work well with my 2018 MacBook Pro, as Apple didn't see fit to change the headphone jack for any of their computers from the 3.5mm jack to a lightning jack. I use the adapter on my iPhone and it works fine. I've used these headphones to run on a treadmill several times and they stay put. I'm not running sprints or marathons, though. However, they are wired, and wired ONLY. Meaning I can't be wireless, and they don't connect to my iWatch. For convenience due to connectivity with all of my devices, I would say that Beats Solo3 Wireless has everything I need, since I have all Apple devices and I really like having everything working together. Even my Alexa devices and Alexa Compatible plugs work harmoniously together and with my Apple devices. As a result, I will be looking for a wireless option that offers good durability and superior noise cancelling capabilities, though I won't be getting rid of these, as they really are great quality headphones, as expected with Sony (considering I grew up in a time where Sony was considered right up there, before Bose became a more well-known entity in the market). ... show more

  • Decent steady headphones.
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
These work like a champ. Noise cancelling is honestly distorted bass in any headphone. Today’s fashion is all about the bass. No it distorts sound. Badly. The sound is clearer with noise reduction on. Boost appears to be all around as opposed to bass blasting. Fit is easier. Spent years wearing kettle drums and these do what you need for travel. You should buy the suggested case for these. Storage is easy. I prefer these because they have a normal headphones jack which if I recall is 3.5 mm. I detest wireless as they do fail for 0 reason and for the price these are good. Again the craze for the bass will eventually deafen you. I would give these as a gift. The hidden bonus feature is they do not dry out and blast everyone around you with your annoying music and stream tik toks. And. I really dislike blue tooth. These do not have it and I did not want it. Thank God. ... show more

  • Comfortable with Good Sound, But Noise Canceling Fell Short
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
These headphones are comfortable to wear and the sound quality itself is actually pretty good, especially for the price point. I bought them as a backup wired pair for my daughter since we already own a wireless Sony pair that we absolutely love. That said, I was honestly disappointed in the level of noise canceling these provided. I tested them myself throughout the week before handing them over to her and could still hear a lot of surrounding noise even with the volume turned up fairly high. I know these are much less expensive than Sony’s higher end wireless models, so I wasn’t expecting perfection, but I still expected a bit more in that department simply because it’s Sony. Overall not terrible headphones, but the noise canceling performance just didn’t meet my expectations. ... show more

  • Good Product, keeps ambient noise down.

These work well, I use them when I work on my computer in public areas and they reduce the ambient noise well.

  • Highly recommended
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
These headphones are awesome! Originally, I was looking for Bose-like headphones. I bought BOHM ones (off of Amazon) to try, and ended up returning them because there was no visible noise-cancellation (and they were close to $100). These have better noise cancellation - they definitely do not silence people around you, but they do make things quieter, even without music playing. With music playing, you can pretty much zone out, which is pretty much perfect. I've also tried a more expensive pair of Sony Headphones (they were close to $200) - I would say that the noise-cancelling feature is pretty much the same... at least, I didn't notice much of a difference between the two quality-wise. The more expensive Sonys were better quality in terms of material, look, and the speakers encapsulate your ears more effectively. But for the price, I would overwhelmingly choose these ones! As an example, I'm currently writing this review in my apartment with the dish washer and dryer running... they're pretty loud. When I flip the noise-cancel switch (I don't have any music playing), the humming is gone, but I can still hear the swishing of the water in the dishwasher. These headphones are perfect for when you're on the 'quiet' floor of the library, and that one person starts eating a bag of carrots... ugh that's the worst! I also like how they fold up, I'm in college, so I just smoosh them into my backpack. They're much more comfortable than earbuds for studying, they don't hurt your ears. Side note: I definitely prefer these to bluetooth headphones - you don't need to charge them, all you need is a single battery. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. These are inexpensive, functional, and have great sound quality! ... show more

  • Peak Enshittification
Size: medium Style: MDR-ZX110NC
I'd purchased a cheap MDR sony headset in the past, the muffs weren't very soft but other than that they were fine, especially for the $20-25 price point. THESE on the other hand? They look nice, and that's about the only nice thing I can say. The muffs are snug but comfortable with good padding, but they sound as bad, maybe worse, than the complimentary garbage earbuds they give you on flights. For a $70 price point, completely unacceptable. The muff joints have no swivel, so if the fit is uncomfortable to you, nothing you can do about it. Most notably, the battery casing is supposed to open by pressing a button, well I pressed and pressed, gritting my teeth I pushed so hard, and that button DOES NOT WORK. Never got it to open the battery compartment. I will be returning these and buying from other companies moving forward. ... show more
