First off let me say that for less than $100 this is a really good pair of headphones. They are small, comfortable, long lasting, and easy to use. Dont expect $300 headphone sound quality, but they do a lot for what they offer. Sound Quality - This is the extra bass line of Sony headphones so naturally they are going cater more towards bass heavy genres. However, the sound is still pretty balanced for the average listener. There is no extra bass button like on the bigger brother xb950, but that was kind of overkill anyway. These do a good job of bringing out bass in the songs that have it and does not compromise the other tones as much. Battery Life - Amazing. Sony claims to get 30 hours with this set and from my experience that is pretty accurate at low to moderate volume. i have only had to charge them a few times with periodic use. The power light will flash red periodically when juice is low, but more conveniently you can tap the power button for pleasant voice prompt about battery status. "Battery Level Medium" etc. its simple but effective. Technology - All the controls are on the right ear cup. It has power button with light blue power light (does flash periodically but is small and unobtrusive), volume rocker with raised edge on the up side for easy touch feel, track change and pause slider, micro-USB charge port. NFC on left ear cup. It has most of the functionality you would expect from a bluetooth headphone. Comfort - These are on ear type headphones. Head band is metal but has a nice padding under it so it wont put too much pressure on the top of your head. When i first wore these headphones, they were not that comfortable. The ear pads seemed to press against my ears too much after longer periods of listening. however after a while this broke in a bit and now they feel great. The pads definitely look like they are thinner and might not be comfortable but when you feel them they are very soft and the light weight helps with comfort as well. Build Quality - Headband is metal and seems sturdy will not snap easily without deliberate bending. Ear cups do not fold but swivel 90 degrees to roll flat. The hinges seem durable and i dont think this should be much of a problem provided you take care of them. Bluetooth The range is decent and id call it about average. Pairing was quick and i never had any issues locating the unit with any of my devices. Once paired the bluetooth connects almost immediately upon subsequent uses. Accessories - Not much to say here. You get a micro USB cable and that is about it. Would be nice to see a hard case or something to carry it with. The unit does not have any wired 3.5mm jack as these are bluetooth only.Personally it doesnt bother me because i have other headphones i use if i want wired experience or know i might be in a situation where bluetooth is not available. with 30 hours of life you should get through most situations before having to charge. Overall - These are really solid headphones. For less than $100 and having a smaller form factor (not huge heavy cans like some other styles), these are quality BT only headphones. Once they form to your head ears, they are comfortable and cups swivel flat for easy storage in a bag. Id recommend a case though if you plan to travel with these a lot in a backpack. Sound is bass heavy but not unrealistic or gimmicky. If you are debating between the larger and heavier xb950, i think these are a little more practical. They are smaller, lighter, look much less bulky on the head, and while they are on ear as opposed to around ear like the 950s, these are still pretty comfortable. All in all its tough to beat this headphone for the price and performance.

So,..... I bought a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones almost two years ago for my now twelve year old daughter, and I was so impressed with them that I decided to buy this pair after checking out all of the positive reviews. Well, the majority of reviews were spot-on. These things put out very good sound and I was most happy to hear that the bass was not overpowering. (That was my biggest fear before purchase). The battery life on these headphones is excellent, as well as the charging time. The fit is superb. Although they may be marketed as "on ear", they are nearly "over the ear" phones, and, very comfortable I might add. The cans aren't too big and they aren't too small....they are just right. ( Funny, where have I heard that before?) They have virtually no sound leakage either (yes, sounds weird, but really, the person on the side of you wont hear all of your jam), which is especially good for those long airplane flights or bus rides. And last but not least, the price is right. At under one hundred dollars they simply can't be Beat(s). (No pun intended) Do yourself a favor,....stop racking your brain reading all these reviews, and buy these very good sounding, stylish, easy to use, easy to connect-to-Bluetooth, Bluetooth headphones. So, for all of you out there looking go buy these headphones.. I'll tell you one thing. Yes, they're great. When it comes to wireless headsets, no one compares to Sony. Are these headphones gonna knock your socks off? No. Are they the best deal for the price? Yes. Originally, when buying these, as they're a few years old, model wise, I thought they were the big brother MDR-XB950BT1, which has the bass boost button. Those, when I bought them a few years back were the best headset I've ever owned. There are still some available on Amazon for about $180 or so, down from their original price tag of $300. The thing that I love about Sony's headphones, is that I love quality first before anything else. That being said, I'm also a bass head. The Sony MDR-XB950BT1 puts out skull rattling bass, but, unlike other brands, when the bass goes up it does NOT degrade the quality of other sounds in music. Most brands tend to sacrifice quality of sound & clarity of words when heavy bass is applied. With Sony? Not the case. These headphones are great, but if you're looking for a headset that's gonna sell you on one brand forever, it's Sony's MDR-XB950BT1 bluetooth headphones. Now, onto a different problem. As I said earlier, these are the 650's, not the 950's I'm recommending. I'm gonna order a set of the 950's when I get some more money, but anyway.. when I go my first set of these, the battery wouldn't charge. 12 hours on the charge & nothing. But, I ordered a replacement & the new one work just perfect. Keep in mind, as I said earlier, this model is a few years old & so outdated & most likely just leftover stock Sony is trying to get rid of. Still a great purchase! These 650's have a very long battery life, rated 30 hours, but manufacturers usually get that statistic from low to medium volume. I'm always playing mine @ full blast & I'd day I get about 18 hours of usage before needing to charge. Sony claims they charge fully in up to 4 hours, my experience has been that these headphones actually charge faster than that. Microphone is good, clear, & doesn't sound like I'm far away or anything when using for a phone call. The back-pause/play/forward buttons are very handy once you get used to their positioning. Now, back to the Sony XBR950BT1. Those don't last nearly as long, due to the fact they're way heavier as far as output, but they still last a long time. About a full 8 hours @ max volume, I'd say.. but, man! I promise you will never want to get another pair of headphones in your life! Bass so deep it rattles your ears, while @ the same time keeping other sounds clear & crisp. In this particular area, not even big name's like Bose & JBL can compete with Sony's XBR950BT1 bluetooth headphones. If you want a good sound with long battery life, buy these headphones. If you want something that truly wows with deep bass & studio quality sound... choose the XBR950BT1.. promise you won't regret it! Again.. If anyone has a problem with their headset, just order & replacement & you'll be fine. Hope this was this was helpful.

I am very pleased with these headphones. I am not all that demanding, but I do want reasonable bass and clear highs and mids and these do not disappoint. I have had these for a couple days, and I've been listening for about 5-6 hours each day to a variety of mostly rock and techno. My specific thoughts: Pairing: I paired these with my Moto X Pure (2015) Android phone via NFC, and it was exactly as seamless and quick as you could hope for; it was almost anticlimactic because I just put the phone up to my ear and 1.5 seconds later it said "phone paired". I also paired with my HP Envy Windows 10 Laptop, and it worked exactly as it should have. Battery: I have only had it for a short while, but right now it's holding up quite well; I didn't charge at all, just straight out of the box and I've logged probably 15+ hours of listening. Range: Pretty standard Bluetooth range - I can walk around the office and 25 feet away I'm still connected. Sound: I'm totally happy with all aspects of the sound on these things. I understand that these aren't $500+ headphones, but they sure sound great. These are on-ear headphones, but there isn't a whole lot of sound leaking in or out. I like the bass reproduction, and it totally doesn't wipe out/overpower the other sound ranges. It's quite crisp, and the volume is sufficient for any environment. Build Quality: I have no complaints here. They feel very lightweight, and hopefully that doesn't mean they don't break down the road but so far so good. I bought a cheap case for when I throw these in my work laptop case just to be prudent, of course. They don't feel like they're going to break, and nothing seems loose or in danger of falling off, but again I was surprised at how light they are so hopefully that's not a bad thing. Comfort: These feel good - I have an average to slightly larger than average sized head, and I can keep these on for at least a couple hours without chafing. You might want to take them off after several hours, but I don't know any headphones that you don't have to take off at least some of the time. I can feel a slight amount of quasi-suction on my ears, but nothing close to uncomfortable. They are, as I mentioned, lightweight, so there shouldn't be any problems with neck strain. Price: For about $75 you can't do much better. That's a bargain bin price, practically. For a name brand product you can trust, I'm very happy with the price. TL;DR - Definitely look into these if you want cheap, great sounding headphones that you can keep on for a few hours. The battery life is great, and there aren't any downsides that I've run across.

Edit: After 3.5 years heavy use these headphones finally bit the dust. The headphones still work perfectly one of the arms to the speakers broke(I am not easy on products). I probably listened to thousands of hours of audio books and music while working and doing household chores. Highly recommend this quality product, even after my constant use the battery seems like new. I would purchase these headphones again if I wasn't looking for some noise canceling over the ear headphones. 2017 Original Review: I have had the headphones for a few days now and I am really enjoying them, I purchased them for $68 as apart of a special that was being offered. Note: I am a software developer who often uses headphones often for client calls and to listen to music while coding. Likes: The sound quality of these headphones are much better than my year old On Ear "Bose SoundTrue Headphones On-Ear Style, White for Apple iOS". They can get much louder and the Sony's have much more distinctive bass. The headphones have a volume control and seek play pause on the headphones which is nice if your device is in another room. I was super happy with the range that the Bluetooth works with these headphones. I can leave my phone in my office and go grab a drink in the kitchen with out losing any reception. I have yet to lose connection because of distance in my 1250 Sq ft house. No lip-syncing issues while streaming video. I haven't had any trouble with the mic while on calls and connected to my LG G4. Really happy that the headphones use use a micro USB to charge as well. Dislikes The only piece I dislike about the headphones is they start to get uncomfortable on my ears after a few hours of use. I am hoping as I break in the headphones this slowly goes away. But I don't think this warrants losing a star for.

I used them throughout the summer while mowing the lawn, painting our porch, staining the deck ... then, they stopped working. I had been using them maybe 5 times a week for four months. I noticed various little problems like having to reconnect to my bluetooth source on each use, but because I did get them on sale, I figured it was worth the money I saved. This is what's happening with them now... I started charging them and noticed the charging light wasn't coming on. I went to Sony's support website and found multiple complaints of the same nature as mine. There were multiple fixes posted. I tried these: Push power button while pushing volume button for 7 seconds. According to Sony that should cause the blue light to start flashing. It didn't. Use a small pen tip or paper clip to press the reset button. I did. It did nothing. Charge them overnight. I did. Light never came on. Nothing works. It became enough of a pain that I just chalked it up to remind myself Sony products aren't what they used to be. Luckily, I found a set of Bose OE Bluetooth (already have a pair of the wired ones) headphones at Sam's Club for a decent price and bought those. My nephew took these Sony's and said he was sure he could fix them. He didn't and couldn't. I normally wouldn't drop a 5 star product to 1 star, but it's really the only thing I can do in this situation. They work and sound very good, but they do nothing now. Original five star review below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let me start by saying I'm not always open to audio technology. I actually returned two different bluetooth speakers that my wife had bought me to use with my PC. I bought a high-end set of 2.1 wired speakers for the PC instead. I'm not an audiophile, but I'm pretty close to being one. The one set of speakers/headphones I'm not that particular about are the ones I wear when I working outside around the house (mowing, weedeating, trimming trees, building a birdhouse, etc...). I bought a pair of JVC wired headphones last year for under ten dollars and they were working just fine. I use an old iPhone 4s as an iPod Touch. About a month ago, I had my headphones on, cord dangling down to my pants pocket and was using the weedeater. Had just refilled it and went to start it, caught my arm in the cord of my headphones, yanked the starter cord on the weedeater, headphones went flying. So, my wife told me ahead of Father's Day that she was getting me a pair of bluetooth headphones. I've had these for a couple weeks and have to say I really like them. I'll get my only complaint out of the way. The headband part sticks up too much to wear a hat on top of them. I do have a big head and wear fitted hats, so that could be part of the problem, but I'm having to wear them over my hat. Trust me when I say I know that's a minor complaint. The padding on these headphones is good, not the best, I have a pair of Bose OE wired headphones that have better cushioning and padding, but these are doing well. This includes me sweating on them quite a bit (Be sure to wipe the sweat off!) The headband is sized as good as any headphones I've used. They fit our 12 year old son who has a small head and they fit my big head too. I've had no problems whatsoever with the bluetooth reception, but I'll admit, I don't use them far from the source. Probably the farthest I've tested them was 10 foot and they worked fine at that distance. Then there's the sound. It's good. My biggest problem with the bluetooth speakers my wife bought for my PC was everything was contained in one housing. Though those speakers had 4-5 speakers in each one the sound all came from one area. Which is why I bought a 2.1 for the PC. These headphones do a very good job of separating the sound into the correct channels (left/right). They play loud enough to hear music clearly while using a riding lawnmower. The extra bass part can be heard in some of the music I listen to, but I don't generally listen to bass-heavy music while working in the yard. Still, very full, thumping bass while listening to progressive heavy metal with top-notch drummers hitting that double bass. I couldn't ask for a better pair of headphones for what I need. I used to have a pair of Sony wired headphones that looked a lot like these and they too, were surprisingly good in everything. That's the best way to describe the sound from these. The bass is good, the highs are good, the mids can get a little muddled and overpowered at times, but that's to be expected with headphones. Last, I would think the price is also an important part in my review. These were on sale when I bought them, around fifty. They're very impressive for that price and I'll no longer be accidentally throwing my headphones across the yard.

Firstly, I was mislead when I read they are 'Over ear'. Clearly I can see that in the picture that they are 'On ear' and not 'over ear' but I bought them anyway to try them. They are not at all comfortable on my ears. MY EARS STARTS HURTING AFTER HAVING THEM ON FOR ~ 30 MINIUTES. I also thought that it maybe just my ears but my wife experienced same and her ears hurts too after having them on for some time. I particularly bought them to enjoy movies and Xbox but I cannot put them on for longer duration of time so I returned them. I have also tried Samsung Level on bluetooth headphones and returned them for same reason. My main criteria of buying headphones are Bluetooth connectivity, Comfort on my ears and good sound quality and I do not really care much about noice cancellation but it would be good to have. These headphones pass on 2 of them but not comfort level. Sound Quality - 4.5/5 - Excellent sound quality and they truly deliver Extra Bass which is good. Connectivity - 4/5 - Ease of connectivity with Bluetooth and NFC although it wasnt as seamless as Samsung Level. Battery Life - 4/5 - Excellent battery life. I used them ocassionaly for 3 weeks to give them chance and try to get used to it and within that time I only charged once. By the way I tried charging them using fast wall charger but I do not think that works. They were charged by USB cable from my computer though. Design - 3.5/5 - Great color and they are light in weight and easy to carry. I did not find the placements of the power button, volume and skip buttons to be much easier but one may get used to them. Comfort - 2/5 - As I mentioned, my ears starts hurting after some time and it is not because of high volume or extra bass but because of the way they sit on my ears. Note that they are in fact cushion padded which was good but didn't really helped me much. Price- 3.5/5 - Bought them for $80 on deal which his decent discount price but the selling price of above $110 would be paying a little extra for what it is worth is what I feel. Overall, you can try them to see if they are comfortable for you and if they are comfortable for you, then they are a good buy for price between $80-$100 I will continue my search for comfotable wireless headphones and perhaps I should brace for spending much more then what I intend to or else I will compromize buying in-ear wireless earphones.

I wanted to wait before I wrote my review, I've had the headphones for a week now and let me tell you, these are the best headphones I've ever had. I don't have the money for things like Bose headphones, but I have listened to things with Bose headphones and the quality between that and these are almost unnoticeable. The headphones come with picture instructions for how to pair with bluetooth, or how to charge, this makes it easy to understand. I charged these headphones the minute I took them out of the package a week ago, and after daily use (I'd say about an average of 3 hours of use per day) my battery hasn't needed re-charging and the charge level still says "high". (To find out your charge level you just click the power button once and you can audibly hear the charge level.) The sound is superb, granted the high pitches are a tad bit more muted or muffled, but that's what you get with extra bass headphones. Nevertheless the high pitches ARE there. And as for the bass quality...unmatched! I own a pair of $200 studio headphones they don't deliver the beautifully smooth bass this thing does. I was watching Netflix with these headphones and in a scene where there was thunder, I was actually started by the fact that I could PHYSICALLY feel the bass as opposed to just hearing it. Normal bass headphones can claim to deliver low bass, but this one can deliver lower frequencies that you can physically feel, and don't detract from the sound quality. I believe these headphones actually have two cones per ear, one to deliver the mid-range frequencies, and another larger cone behind it (in a separate compartment) that delivers the booming bass. And listening to classical music, especially symphonies sounds wonderful in these headphones. Lastly comfort: VERY comfortable. My previous $200 headphones get uncomfortable to wear after 2 hours, but I've had these headphones on for about 4 hours before with no discomfort whatsoever. The padding is soft and compressible, yet has enough density or strength to keep themselves onto your ears, this is good because it creates a perfect 'seal' to your ear that prevents sound from escaping your ear, as well as muffles external sounds pretty well, close to noise canceling quality. And I do mean that, even when I'm not using these headphones, they mute external sound so well just by the way they seal to your ear. And finally, the head band, it has the same type of foam the ear pieces have, which makes it really comfortable on your head, again after 4 hours of continuous use, I haven't experience discomfort here either. Any cons? I haven't found a single one yet.
