I have been using the DCRVX 1000 for over 10 years and it has done well. However, the FX1 is so far superior in every way. The only feature I miss is the "overlap". So far, the color, the detail, the feel (a bit heavier than the VX1000) are even better than I expected. HD is as close to reality as possible. I have 2 weddings that I will soon record, and I feel confident that the FX1 will perform without fail. I recommend this camcorder for the very serious videographer. It is priced $2 thousand less than the VX1000 sold for in "96 at $5 thousand. Technology has improved while costs have fallen. A good buy at 3 grand. ... show more

When I ordered the camera I thought I was getting a camera that was in A-1 Used condition.. well nothing that was listed was anything close to what I got.. Lighting brace was broken.. No remote control.. No manuals.. camera looked as if it went through world war 3.. casing was all scuffed and scratched up.. also when I got it it was very dirty never cleaned and there was no way it was Quality checked.. cause the heads were dirty and the inside had dirt in the tape area from the past owner.. when I wrote the seller all they said was I could return the camera.. at the time was not an option due to my work and jobs I needed it for.. so I had to replace the lighting mount.. a remote control.. had to have it professionally cleaned and had to replace the view finder due to all the scuffs on the screen... Now the camera works great as it should have when I bought it and when it's described as very good condition.. you might want to replace your tech.. cause it cost me almost $200.00 for all the repairs and replacement parts.. I'm not a very happy customer and I think Amazon should know better.. ... show more

I was not sure of the delivery time, so i was concerned about being in the US long enough. i was delighted as, withing 3 days, it was delivered. Sony HDR-FX1 3-CCD HDV High Definition Camcorder w/12x Optical Zoom this is the best camcorder hd i ever use with the stuning hd video ,clear like crital and shiny like diamond eventhought it use a hdv tape it is still pretty good .i would recommended this for wedding short movie ,interview and video music.sony it is just the best in video camcorder ,i mean to say the king.this camcorder would not dissapointed you.i really recommended it if your swicthind from sd to hd.it is just the best. ... show more

Camera works great. However because of the age of the technology causes issues with the livestreaming. I bought the camera to livestream and make videos for our church. I still have not been able to capture the feed.
