  • Just amazing.
Style: Body Only Set: Base
Just amazing. Fantastic for weddings and all sorts of events. I think this is a really underrated camera. The A1 came out but this is just amazing. I guess if you need the extra megapixels just get the A1 but this is a monster overall especially in low light situations.

  • Best camera I have used for Friday Night Lights!
Style: Body Only Set: Base
Without using a flash, just using the anti-flicker mode. These pictures were almost impossible to get without a ton of Post. These images are straight from the camera, no Post!

  • Massive Disappointment
Style: Body Only Set: Base
There is no sense to pay extra 1,000$ for the clone of A9 Sony could make a camera that has better ergonomics, better battery, 4k 60p option, etc. but it doesn’t, possibly because it doesn’t need to. Hopefully, pressure from other manufacturers will change this

  • The One Camera to Rule Them All: Sony a9II
Style: Body Only Set: Base
If you have shot with the a9 in the past, you already know there is no equal for capturing action. The a9II is a grown up and more mature version of the a9 with a ton of added features to make even those who already own the a9 want to upgrade. 1. the feel is awesome... finally! Sony listened to those of us that shoot sports and PJ. we wanted a bigger camera and Sony delivered a camera the same size as the a9 but with more beef in the grip, the buttons, and with better weather sealing. 2. Anti-flicker finally comes to the a9II! For those of us that shoot in less desirable locations that are dark, dingy, and are riddled with flickering lights, you just turn on Anti-flicker and the a9II will automatically sense when it needs it and will do it. Simple is good! 3. I love the a9 for everything except for shooting on strobes. a9II got a major upgrade in the mechanical shutter so it's the same as the a7rIV now--10 fps with full AF tracking. the lag time on mechanical shutter is a thing of the past--this sucker shoots right when you want it to, and just in time for basketball season! 4. Real Time Tracking is better--more accurate than even what the a9 gave us, and more mature and settled down. You can literally hit a person in the arm or leg and the a9II will find the face and eyes and rock so every frame is tack on the eyeballs, even if it's an athlete in action. 5. Increased resolution in the EVF but with the same speed/refresh rate as the a9. I find more eye relief because the image quality is so good now. 6. 1/200th sync speed is 100% solid. In the past, some of the FF bodies have fluctuated in terms of how clean they synced normal studio flash units at 1/200th. Often, you'd have to drop down to 1/160th to make sure the upper part of the frame was really clean. This really affected me for hockey on strobes where you'd get "dirty ice" on the top of the frame. The a9II, while it still doesn't have 1/250th sync like any pro camera should, at least you can count on the 1/200th. I've tested with Dynalite, Orlit, Profoto, and Elinchrom using a pocket wizard to sync and 1/200th is safe. 7. Most important to me is the added power of the processing of the a9II. I'm looking forward to new features Sony will certainly add in the near future--this adds to the value of the camera over the long haul. I so appreciate Sony making these FW updates free and allowing me to do them myself with a laptop!!!! Last, I love the a9 still but will be using my a9II as my primary body. I am a sponsored shooter by Sony but these words are my own. a9II is a tremendous gift to photographers that choose to use the very best... -Patrick Murphy-Racey/Sony Artisan of Imagery ... show more

  • The best Sony camera I have ever used.
Style: Body Only Set: Base
I received my A9 II about 10 days ago and I have shot hockey and family lifestyle document style photography with it so far. Being a current owner of the Sony A9 as well, I have to say I wasn't sure how much better or faster the A9 II could be, however, I am pleasantly surprised. I can definitely tell the camera is even more efficient/faster at tracking and focusing when it comes to sports and fast-moving subjects like children. The Eye-Auto Focus is so spot-on, it allows me to capture images of families and kids that were mostly impossible prior to Eye-Auto Focus because I do not have to put my eye up to the camera to trust or see the focus. If you like to photograph action or want to capture better images of your kids playing, sports, this camera will allow you to capture 20 frames per second, combined with fast focusing and crisp & clean high ISO full-frame images. You will capture images you never thought were possible. I am a professional photographer who has been using Sony Cameras since 2012 and this is by far the best camera I have ever used in my 30-year career. I am excited each time a new Sony product comes to the market as it only helps me improve the quality of my images. Robert Evans, Sony Artisan of Imagery. ... show more
