Update: Just bought another one (black), and it had 10.5mm saddles (whereas the pink one I'd ordered previously had 10.8mm saddles). I do recommend replacing the saddles since they're loose and wiggle when you change strings, which turns the saddle screws and throws off the guitar's action each time. Just be sure to measure them first before ordering. I also ordered a bridge/tremolo system/springs that another user recommended, but the bridge screws didn't line up, so I kept the original. I also recommend keeping the bridge flat against the body. Original review: I instantly loved this guitar, though it had issues off the bat, so I took it to my luthier for $320 worth of repairs/mods, who did confirm that this has stainless steel frets, by the way. The neck is a comfortable and unfinished/smooth thin C, the pickups are good, it's lightweight (5.9 lbs...!) with no neck dive, looks good/decent, and the components/electronics are all fine (on par with the Fender Player series), though the volume pot doesn't have a uniform taper as you roll it down, though it's still usable. The main things I wanted to do were replace the saddles (which float way off the bridge and move the action screws each time you change strings—a pet peeve of mine and quite common among budget and sometimes even more expensive guitars), and I can confirm that they are 10.8mm saddles (though the seller told me 10.5); I wanted less tension on the tremolo springs since they come really stiff; and to address some fret buzz. Oh, and I wanted the "Sonicake" headstock decal removed, and of course a pro setup. The luthier did a good job over all (but not quite perfect), and mentioned that he had to fill in/reinforce one of the tremolo spring claw screw holes since the body's wood is soft and some wood pulled out when making adjustments back there. He also removed one of the 3 springs (which were in a "V" formation) to float the bridge and make it more usable for light whammy bar fluttering, though it's tuning stability isn't good when using the tremolo bar, though otherwise the tuning stability and tuners are acceptable. (I may change them to locking tuners at some point if I think this guitar's gonna stay in my collection long-term.) And though a fret or two weren't level, just adjusting the truss rod and adding a bit of relief to the neck (which came straight) largely resolved that particular issue. And because the woods are very light and soft, I don't know how it's going to hold up in various environments (outdoors, humid clubs, etc.), but for now it'll be my back-up live guitar (about $445 total in) and one of my main guitars at home for a while as I bond with it and perhaps make some minor adjustments (action). I recommend this to anyone willing to repair/ mod it themselves or professionally. It's a good value, fits in my current S-style cases (though it is wider than expected), and its playability punches quite a bit above its price point for sure.

This is an amazing deal for a guitar with stainless steel frets. It's my first guitar with the real thing and I can hear already the sustain is much longer than some of my other nickel fretted guitars. I'm used to hearing/feeling some friction and grind when I bend strings on my worn-fretted guitars. This plays like a dream. The neck is really, really good. The factory setup was excellent -- which is rare in my experience. I did need some slight intonation adjustments on a few of the strings but it went quickly. The neck was already in the just-right position. The nut is a little bit high, which makes you a little sharper than ideal on the first two frets -- I filed them down a touch to reduce this effect. The sound is amazing with the stock pickups for clean bluesy tones. I did find the pickups to be noisy with high gain distortion settings. My plan is to update to rail-humbucker type pickups to reduce this effect. The tuners are adquate, so I think I'll leave those as-is. The bridge saddles are basic and of decent quality. I'm not a whammy-bar guy, but I did try it out and it knocked all strings out of tune instantly, so I'll be leaving that off. The bridge is flat to the body and I can do palm muting without it messing with the pitch of the strings, so I won't need to "block" the bridge into place permanently. Another reviewer says the guitar arrived from the factory with the best setup he's ever experienced from any brand. I totally agree. Also -- the sea foam color is beautiful. The finish is semi-gloss and it just looks really cool. I'm already considering getting another!

Given its price, I can't complain. The fret work is really good. Round frets, only found 3 barely sharp edges that are easy to fix. The nut was way high, and the action too. So be ready to do some filing at the nut which TO ME is an advantage itself as you can set it as low as you like. Action was too high of course. The fretboard was straight, barely any relief which is how I like it. So, with some filing at the nut and a set up, it plays great. Definitely not for a beginner though as a beginner knows nothing about Guitar work and setups. What is four stars for me, will probably be 2 stars for a beginner. Bought it as a gift for my daughter as her first guitar. Given that I know how to setup a guitar, etc, it was a steal. Very light too.

TL/DR: This is better than the nearly identical $149 Squier I started to buy. I now have 1 of each to compare and I can say that with 100% confidence. The neck alone is worth $99 if you just want a better neck for another guitar. Full review: Contrary to other reviews saying the tremolo is poor, the fact is the tremolo is quite good (nice saddles) but the tuners are crappy and they ship the guitar with brand new extra-light strings which would not stay in tune even on a hardtail. The nut is not cheap Happy Meal plastic, it's actually pretty good and well cut. Even the string trees are a little nicer quality than Squier, smooth, not grabby. Might not even need replacing. The intonation on mine came almost perfect right out of the box, better intonated on arrival than any other guitar I have ever received from any brand. Pickups sound nice, not harsh or brittle sounding, especially the bridge which sounds more musical than 99% of cheap single coils in the bridge position. They sound more "vintage" than "cheap" if you know what I mean. The switch is very solid with a nice click and the pots turn very smoothly and the tapers are decent, not great, but better than most. The neck is a nice medium C, unfinished and the frets are steel. Fretwork is great, and the string alignment with the edges is perfect. The heel-wheel for the truss rod is awesome and combined with the fretwork, the neck is worth the price of the guitar as a replacement for anything. The finish is nice, no runs or rough spots. It IS a thin semi-matte finish, not glossy and not flat matte like those goth guitars that collect fingerprints like the FBI. It will damage easily without the high gloss clear coat and I expect this guitar to relic itself if left unattended for any length of time. Oddly, I thought the Chinese translation of "sea foam green" to "sea bubble green" sounded cute and is what made me look at the listing in the first place. Also, the computer generated images in the listing show a single ply pickguard. The real one has a nice 3-ply pickguard, also not Happy Meal plastic. It was well packed and arrived promptly. It included the basic wrenches and trem arm, no cheesy strap or junk cable. I recommend this guitar. The only really necessary upgrades are better strings and a set of Guyker split-shaft vintage tuners (get the hole adaptor bushings too). Very worth the money. UPDATE: I ordered a 2nd one after the Fender drama hit. #2 is just as good as the first BUT arrived with no wrenches, no trem bar and 2 broken strings.

This guitar is FANTASTIC for the price!! I was surprised at how good it was. It took some truss rod and bridge adjustment out of the box, but it plays shockingly well once set up properly. The electrics sound clean with no buzz or hums, the intonation is decent, and the tone is very good. The only real flaws I see right away are that the tremolo bar will not screw in if I put a spring in the hole, and the pick guard is made of a really soft plastic that you can literally gouge with your fingernail. It feels almost like there's still protective film on it even after you take it off. These are very minor flaws for a Strat style guitar at this price. EXCELLENT first guitar for kids or students, or for scratching the itch for a new guitar without blowing out your wallet. Don't sleep on these, they're worth every penny!

I am really surprised at the overall quality and how it was ready to play out of box. I own several other more expensive guitars and this one runs neck to neck with them. I've had for a little while now and put it thru the paces and I can't find anything to complain about. I'm going to put new strings on it of course and better string trees and that's about it. I would get another one if I could. ( have way too many guitars now) Mine is the pink QGT-10 Thank You SONICAKE!

A very nice guitar after setup. I had to make quite few adjustments before it was ready to play. 1. The neck had no relief. I had to turn the truss rod wheel about 1/2 turn clockwise to get it to neutral, then another 1/2 turn clockwise to put some relief in the neck. 2. The bridge saddles were way too low. I adjusted the saddle set screws to raise the #6 low E around 2 turns on each screw. Then I adjusted all of the other saddles up to match, then about another 1/2 turn on the D & G saddles to follow the neck radius. Now the string action is just about perfect. 3. The intonation was not correct. Especially the G string. But all needed some adjustment. 4. The tuners were all kind of sloppy. I tightened up each of the #1 Phillips screws on the tuning knobs. That made a huge difference. 5. I raised the height of the Bridge pickup so the volume was more closely matched to the Neck and Middle pickups. 6. These "vintage" style tremolo bridges are never very good. Especially on budget guitars. I did give it a try. First I found the spring claw was screwed in way too much and they had the bridge slammed down to the body. After backing off on the claw screws around 3 full turns each, I got the bridge off of the body about 1/16". Not floating, but not slammed either. Still, it worked as expected (not great). So, best to go without this trem. Now, for those of you who think I am being too critical of this $120 guitar, you would be wrong. I do most of same "adjustments" to most of my guitars. This one just needed more than my more expensive guitars. What I really like about this guitar. Plenty! First the weight is amazingly light. 5.4lbs! That is unheard of! Does the super light weight effect the tone. No. At least not in a negative way. Overall, the guitar sounds like an early 50s Strat. The cheap ceramic pickups sound very good. The neck is great. Very comfortable. Ball end stainless steel frets are great. The plastic nut, while not my favorite, is functional, and it was cut well. Final analysis, it is a very nice, easy to play, good sounding Strat style guitar. It just needed some tweaking to reach it's full potential. After setup, this is a perfect starter guitar. Light weight, easy to play neck, and sounds very good. And I love the green color. Leo Fender called this shade of green, Belair Green. Just like a Chevy Belair. *Update* I replaced the tuners with Wilkinson vintage style K1513 $31.99 available here on Amazon. But they did need the 10mm conversion bushings (Dopro zinc version) $7.99 also available here. And I replaced the tremolo bridge with a Wilkinson vintage 6 screw model MX1793 W0V04 Chrome 54mm. $24.88. This is a fantastic bridge. Full block and push-in trem arm, makes a huge difference. I had some roller string trees in my stash, probably around $8. And I installed a set of Fender 9-46 super bullet strings $10. So, total cost for this guitar and upgraded parts, it's still under $200! It plays great and sounds great. Original weight 5.4 lbs. Weight after upgrades, 5.94lbs, probably due to the extra weight of the trem "full" block of the Wilkinson trem bridge. 5 stars after upgrades.
