  • Solid Youth Guitar That Feels Like the Real Deal
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. I picked this up figuring it would be a little smaller, but it’s actually closer to a 3/4 size guitar. Think of it like this: it’s not a ukulele, but it’s also not a regular full-size guitar. For reference, when I set it next to the Epiphone Les Paul, it looks almost like a “mini-me” version. The action is decent, and while the fretboard is definitely more compact than a full-size, it’s not a deal breaker. It tops out at 21 frets, which isn’t going to matter unless you’re expecting your kid to bust out some Eddie Van Halen solos on day one. Build/Finish: This was surprisingly good. The guitar is very light, almost feels like it could be made of plastic or Styrofoam, but it still has that solid wood feel. The body doesn’t flex, the edges are smooth, and the paint/finish looks like a real guitar rather than a toy. Playability: The smaller frets will take some adjusting if you’re used to full-size necks, but for kids or beginners, it actually makes playing and learning a lot easier. It’s a good stepping stone before transitioning to a standard-sized guitar. Tuning Stability: Took a little effort to dial it in, but once tuned it stayed put through about an hour of playing. Nothing loosened or drifted. Strings will probably stretch like usual, but it's mechanically sound. Sound Quality: It has a single humbucker pickup, and it does its job well. Harmonics come through, little pick scratches are picked up, and overall the sound is clean enough to keep a new player interested. Hardware: Very simple setup with one pickup and one knob. No frills, nothing complicated. The knob turns easily with adult hands, but it’s straightforward enough for kids too. Value: Honestly, this is a great value for a starter. I’d rank it above some of the youth acoustics I’ve bought for my kids. For size reference, I’d say it’s best for kids around 6–10 years old, maybe up to 12 if they’re on the smaller side. Bottom line, if you want something that feels and sounds like a real guitar, scaled down for a younger player, this one is perfect! ... show more

  • Over all mine was good
Color: Shell Pink
You know this is pretty fun. I'm trying to get my son into guitar but he is for now and definitely has some issues holding full size instruments. I know Sonic kicked from cheaper pedals and they're definitely providing good value in the guitar space as well. This didn't have any issues out of the box in terms of fit and finish and the sound quality is just fine for the pickup you get. Don't get me wrong. It's not a boutique guitar but it definitely works and was very playable at the box. The fact that it has rounded front ends is a super nice thing to have so you're not going to have too many issues with fret sprout. I'd say it looks pretty decent as well from what it is. Definitely worth considering if you're looking for a fun, small guitar to play on the couch or something to share with your kids ... show more

  • Good beginner guitar.
Color: Black
This guitar is a pretty good beginner guitar. Its a step above those kits you can buy in some stores. I got this for my granddaughter who's enjoyed helping me play since she could walk. Now she'll get to play her own. Total length is 32 inches from end to end and chord length is 20 inches making it within the 1/4 size. It tunes up nicely and sounds pretty good too. It's also quite light weight so it'll be easy for younger children to learn with it. The matte finish gives it a sleek look that looks great on a stand or in your hands. Though fingerprints will likely be an issue. There is a picture attached that shows how it arrived in the box. I was concerned but upon inspection there was no damage and it didn't affect playability at all. Overall, if your child wants to learn the electric guitar then this Sonicake guitar is worth the cost without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • It is very light and so much easier to hold than a full sized guitar!
Color: Shell Pink
Okay so not gonna lie I got this for myself in order to learn how to play properly. I do actually have the full sized version of this same guitar in black, but I found it a bit heavy to hold up and try to grip and practice. So I decided I needed much more practice and got this guitar. This one surprised me that it is so light! I can pick it up with no problems and find it much more easy to attempt to play it. The guitar is not shiny but in a matte color and unfortunately mine had some kinda of sticky residue on it, but after a gentle rub of some goo gone I was able to get it off. I still can’t play a lick of guitar but this helps me along just a little bit more. ... show more

  • Cool, Fun, Ideal size
Color: Sonic Blue
Okay so I'm totally new to guitar, so keep that in mind for my review. I got this for my son and it's a great size for him, (he's 9). It's even a great size for me because I have small hands. It's also super lightweight- which I was not expecting. But at the same time it seems to be sturdy and well-built. I'm excited for us to get to learn guitar with this sonicake kid's guitar. It is a great value for the price. Did I mention it looks fantastic? My son is stoked and ready for his first lesson! yay! ... show more

  • Great for people of all ages to play!
Color: Sea Bubble Green
We have guitars and ukuleles, and we have kids and grandkids. We thought this might be a good instrument to have on hand when the grandkids come to visit so they can learn a thing or two about playing guitar from their grandpa. Well, Grandpa loves this bright turquoise guitar so much that he may not share with the little guys! And it's Auntie's favorite guitar, now! It's so easy to play and sounds so great that it's been making music ever since we got it! It's not heavy at all and doesn't hurt the fingers while being played. So, even though it's designed for kids, it's great for people of all ages. ... show more
