Although there was a hole in the box, it was wrapped so well that it was in perfect condition. It arrived quickly, too! I’m not handy with tools, so it took a while to figure out how the five pieces went together. Each piece is smooth and well painted, so there’s no obvious “wrong side”. I suggest you lay out the pieces starting with the curved seat upside down. Then you will get the angles right in assembling everything. The bigger screw holes on the leg portion are on the outside. There are 12 screws which are exactly the same, so no problem there. Insert the longer end of the Allen wrench into the screw and use the shorter end as the turning handle. The holes were well drilled and aligned easily. As another reviewer mentioned, it would’ve been better if white caps were included to cover the screw holes. I’m looking for some, but I don’t need a pack of 100. Edit: I figured out an easy way to cover the screw holes with cotton. Just pull off a piece of cotton from a cotton ball, form a small ball with one smooth side, and push it into the hole with the smooth side out. That will prevent lumpy shadows. From a distance you can't tell it's cotton, it's easy to remove if you need access to tighten or remove the screws, and it's cheap. Only one cotton ball was needed, and you can find many uses for the rest. This bench is exactly what I needed for my walk-in closet. It’s low enough to sit and reach to put socks on, yet high enough to easily rise from a sitting position. It’s only two inches shorter than both my informal and formal dining chairs. The seat depth (front to back) is four inches shorter than the dining chairs. It’s comfortable and sturdy, but I only plan to use it for short tasks. The size is compact enough that it isn’t in the way of the walk-through area, and the legs don’t stick out to trip me as I go around the closet cabinet island. I’m pleased with this purchase. Update: If you are looking for this size and style without a fabric cushion, look under: Health, Household, & Baby Care - Shower bench. I wanted a lightweight bench I could use for chair yoga and a few other exercises that would be comfortable and not cut into the underside of my legs. It also had to be light enough to carry around easily. I ordered a meditation bench which was quite beautiful but way too small, (about six inches off the floor). I’m 73 years old and my legs weren’t going under that bench in any way, shape manner or form! Lol. I had to do acrobatics just to get up from it. So it went back post hace. I looked and looked on Amazon so something that would suit my purpose. I even thought about a piano bench but decided it was a bit much and probably too heavy, so scratch that idea. Then I came upon this “vanity bench”. Didn’t want it for a vanity, haven’t used makeup in years. But would this curved, short, light bench work? Ordered it, came within two days and put it together in about 20 minutes! This is it!!! Even has kind of a Zen look don’t you think? It is perfect and I am so grateful. This bench is excellent quality, very sturdy. It looks great in our new bathroom. Be aware that while the bench is listed as 18" high, that is on the ends of the seat. Since the seat is concave, it's 16" where you sit. This might be perfect for a cut down vanity counter, I had purposely asked to keep the vanity at counter height so I could use my magnifying mirror. This bench makes you pretty low. It still works for me but would have been more comfortable with the 2 extra inches. I liked the looks of this best and it was a great value so I don't regret buying it. ... show more

I initially bought this stool because I read it's weight limit was 320 pounds. This is definitely true! This vanity stool is very sturdy. It looks really sharp and the seat is super comfortable. I included a photo of the stool with my make-shift vanity. It is the perfect height, love it!

The stool is even better than anticipated. Assembly is a piece of cake! No holes to drill, and no tools are necessary to assemble other than the L shaped tool that is shipped in the same package as the bolts and instruction booklet. Total assembly time, at a leisurely pace, was about 20 minutes. The stool is very sturdy and an attractive addition to our bedroom. My compliments to the manufacturer for a well thought out product that is also exceptionally easy to assemble. PS I just know that my wife will find a use for it and I probably will be buying a second one for myself. ... show more

Great little sturdy bench. Needed a bench to fit under an IKEA desk and this fit the bill. The product arrived quickly and was put together in 10 minutes. It’s very sturdy and the seat is comfortable. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the screws are visible on the side of the bench. It would have been nice if it came with those little white sticky discs to cover up where the screws went in. But for the money it’s a nice little bench. ... show more

This is a very sturdy, heavy wooden stool. The seat cushion is comfy and it works great with my vanity. The only beef I had is that the pre-drilled holes on the back to insert the leg pairs did not line up properly. I was not able to put a screw into one of the holes. There is nothing that I can say that I dislike about my new stool. I almost didn't order it because of a review I read. It said it was difficult to assemble but it wasn't. I could've assembled it without the instructions. I was worried that it came with no instructions but it did come with simple to understand instructions. After I assembled it I thought while looking at it that it wouldn't hold my weight(215lbs.) but I sat down and loved it. I bought it so I would have a place to sit to lotion my feet and legs after I got out of the shower and I wouldn't have to go in the living room to sit on my couch.
