I bought this set in black as an Amazon lightning deal. I scoured the reviews over and over again - some people loved it & some people said it was low quality. It arrived today and I looked it over thoroughly. This is NOT Tumi, Travel Pro, etc… luggage. This is NOT hard-core business traveler luggage. I think this will be great luggage for weekend trips or somewhere where you are driving to your destination. The plastic is lightweight and has some flexibility but I think that is good so that it doesn’t crack. My first thought is this is great for carry-on or if you are not checking your luggage. It is lightweight. It’s easy to maneuver. The wheels are sturdy. The 14 inch mini case is much larger than I thought. I can fit my MacBook Air in there plus iPad and chargers. It would fit an abundance of toiletries and/or change of clothes. I am really shocked at how big the 14 inch case is! The strap that attaches the 14 inch case to the suitcase seems pretty sturdy to me. Perhaps if you filled the small case to the brim with heavy items it would sag, but the elastic certainly feels high quality. I think the problem with people giving a low rating for the luggage is that they are expecting this to be high-quality, business traveler or airline professional grade luggage. This plastic is not the most durable like a super premium luggage item. However, if you are an average traveling person, and you go away for a weekend or a girls trip or to visit family, this will be great. Or if you take it as a carry-on item I think this luggage will be totally fine. Will it scratch? Probably, but for this price I am not concerned about that. Again, if you want scratch resistant, high-performance luggage then you will need to pay that high price tag that could be 3-5 times what this luggage costs! I will update my review if I have problems. I would not pack this suitcase full of bricks! The plastic is certainly not sturdy enough. But for a few outfits, pajamas, some shoes, some toiletries and a laptop w/ charger there is PLENTY of room & quality. I think if you manage your expectations and want a lightweight luggage set, affordable, average to good quality luggage this is great. I was mostly interested in this set because I wanted the small 14 inch case. It is very difficult to fit all of my clothes and toiletries into a 20-21 inch carry-on bag so having the 14 inch case is a deal changer and especially at this price point!! If you are a business traveler or traveling internationally or plan to check this luggage you probably need to spend more money and purchase a higher quality item. If you need a lightweight luggage set that has room for all of your beauty items and or electronic items in the 14 inch case, then this set is it! It should stand up too many uses. Bought this after making a commitment to traveling only with a carry on. I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a carry on but also didn’t want to go too low and the product be faulty. I found this to be a happy medium. It survived the streets of Greece, hills, rough and uneven terrain, ferries, stairs and plane rides. The wheels offer a smooth ride, I stuffed it to the max with 24 lbs worth of clothing (for reference). I did use packing cubes on one side though. Zipper handled it well and the case held its shape. I bought this set in pink for a business trip to New Orleans. I packed enough for the 4 days I was gone. Plus 3 pairs of shoes and makeup/hygiene/toiletries. Both pieces were full but it fit. I will definitely look for the larger one to add to my set. But I love this. It arrived when they said it would. The color was as described. I took a plane trip there and back, with 1 transfer each way. And the luggage held up perfectly. No tears or breaking. And I was a little worried coming back because I had extra things I had bought. And it was stuffed full. I was so afraid a zipper would break open if it was throw around by the baggage people. But it came out perfect. And I had 2 ladies at my hotel in the lobby ask me where I got it. And one lady in the airport. Super cute and durable. I received so many compliments! I was a bit skeptical about ordering at first because of the reviews saying that it doesn’t hold much but sometimes you have to take risks and try yourself lol. So I did and this bag holds a lot! For a week long trip, it held all of my clothing including two bulky jeans, multiple tops, jumpsuits, two pairs of platform heels, two sneakers and three pairs of sandals, two quart size bags filled with my makeup and hair supplies. And that was not even the actual cosmetic bag which I stuffed with all of my underwear and perfumes (3.5oz)! It moves freely and is super stylish. For the price, I’d say get it! These two cases work so well together and the math is worked out to both maximize the luggage space and be taken as carry-on. They look great are are made well enough for the price. I also reinforced the elastic strap with a snap strap riveted to the case and got a cup holder insert.
