  • Good Stuff!
I added this to several of my different plant species. I have different melon types growing in the backyard and I have many different varieties of potted plants on my deck currently. Some of my potted varieties include: pineapple, M. speciosa tree, banana trees, mandarin orange, potatoes, tomatoes, dwarf pomegranate and a baby lemon. Since I just recently fertilized, I figured I would just add a little bit to everybody because of its various benefits. I used a small pot to scoop it out and spread a little bit on the top soil. The bigger plants and trees got more than the small guys. When I watered it in, it just disappeared into the soil and basically mixed itself in (see photo). All that’s still visible are the grass clippings that are on top of the soil. The same thing happened with my melons that are planted in the ground in regular soil too. It was so easy. I always use either all natural or organic soil and/or fertilizers for my plants and this product delivers. I have always had great success with worm casting products too. This product is awesome, I will definitely purchase it again but I wish it came in a larger bag because it went too quickly. I used the entire bag in one shot. ... show more

  • Dark, Rich, Luxurious
About two weeks ago, I put this around two medium-sized pomegranate trees and three baby strawberry guava trees. Smaller additions went to my porch plants which include chilis, tomatoes, onions and basil plus Boston ferns, spider plants and a few other odds and ends. I have to say that I love working with this vermicompost. Not only has it helped with watering effectiveness and longevity, important in hot southern-central coastal California, but it feels and looks so wonderful. I also find myself very impressed with the company whose mission says it focuses on “clean water, sustainable living, and a healthier, greener planet.” The price is very reasonable for the amendment and I am setting aside funds now to buy two or three more bags next month. I really like this and am giving it a deserving five stars. Very highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great! Dark soil
This soil is quite dark and looks rich! Doesn't have any foul smell and no bugs. The bag is mostly empty so its not filled to the top of this stuff. I'm still learning to garden and haven't been successful at making compost so this seems to help with my lack of gardening skills. It does have some moisture to it so its like clay. But I was able to easily mix it. So far my plants seem to be doing well! ... show more

  • Seems Great
I can't totally speak to the water retention claim on this because I have a good amount of clay in my soil, so I already have a lot of water retention. I'm speaking more to the nutrient content available. I've been using this on my roses and have been pretty excited to improve the quality of their soil with it. So far so good. It comes looking like the listing and the bag seals easily. I also appreciate how you have multiple ways to use this product whether it be a top off or a mix in. ... show more

  • Big bag of worm poop!
But it works well! Ive been using it for a couple weeks and I am noticing my plants are thriving a little more and seem more evenly watered especially when mixed with some dirt that was on your plants before. My plants have to be watered less because this soil almost retains some water and not letting it evaporate too fast while also not drowning your roots. It isn't for all plants but works great for bonsai trees and vine plants! ... show more

  • I like that it's worm castings, but I don't like that it's listed as 'vermicompost'
I like that it's worm castings, but I don't like that it's listed as 'vermicompost' and i don't like that it advertises humic and fulvic acids. I can see the humic and fulvic acid grains in the worm castings, it's not enough to matter. and the castings themselves (not vermicompost and not compost) are not bioactive. There was one tiny half-dead worm in the bag, but the product itself did not colonize living soil even after a month in the sun. If six worms can do it, any vermicompost should be able to do it. This product is also insanely priced for the amount you get, which I assume is precisely why they used these not accurate hype words like 'vermicompost' and 'humic and fulvic acids', specifically to target the cannabis community. ... show more

Pros - Contains fulvic and humic acids for plant health - All-natural and non-toxic - Helps save water by improving soil water retention - Suitable for indoor and outdoor use - Effective as a topsoil amendment Cons - Specific benefits and efficacy may vary based on plant types - Packaging size (5lbs) may be insufficient for larger gardening projects ... show more

  • Looks and smells good
It was a bit moister than I expected for worm castings derived product, but applied easily to plants. I'm planting multiple tree cuttings and will use this for some, but not others to see if it makes a difference in plant health. I may do a similar experiment with some vegetables. If there's a significant difference, I'll try to remember to modify my review. ... show more
