  • Nice for charging phones and running a small fan during power outages.
Color: 146Wh/100W Solar Generators(Black & ...
We have a few of these style of power banks at home, but I wanted one just for me. So, I grabbed this one, because it included the solar panels. The ones that we had during Hurricane Idalia saved our butts when we were out of power for five days, as we were able to use and charge our phones and switches on them, as well as run small fans and lights. Anyway, this works really well. It does charge on the solar panels, which is great for saving money on power costs, which have shot up in my area ridiculously high in the last year. So, I can use this to charge my phone regularly without costing me anything past the cost of this power bank. It's pennies, but pennies count. I used this as a power bank for a craft vending show. I charged it fully on the day before the show, and I used this intermittently throughout a two-day and evening time period to charge three phones and a square reader. This worked like a champ. Because I was in a super sunny corner of a venue, I could have hung up the panels and charged them if needed, but it just wasn't necessary. My husband tested this on running our T-Mobile router, the 50 dollar a month one, because we use that at shows for when the cell network gets overloaded and crashes, rendering our Squares useless. (That happened two years in a row at one of our highest grossing craft shows.) The pack kept the T-Mobile up overnight with no problems as far as having enough power to additionally charge my phone, all on one full charge. It has a plug, some USB ports, and comes with adapters to charge different types of items, which is pretty cool. The plastic is good quality, the buttons easy to find, the display huge and easy to read. The handle is sized comfortably to carry. This is a small size and fits easily into a backpack. I put it into the bottom of my rolling 'toolbox' for craft shows, along with the panels, which are easy to set up on my EZ-up side rail. It's portable, charges a lot of different items, the battery life is pretty spectacular in my opinion, and this can be charged up for zero dollars using the solar panels. The panels aren't as quick to charge this as a wall outlet, but that's to be expected. They still get the job done and I like the security of having this for craft shows to ensure that my mobile payment options can be used, and for having this during the upcoming hurricane season. The price is fair for the size, quality, charging options, and the included solar panels. I'd buy this again. ... show more

  • Decent power station but it uses AC power fast when idle.
Color: 146Wh/100W Solar Generators(Black & ...
I think this is a decent power station, but you can find better. I think this would make a great gift for someone into off grid activity, or even yourself to keep in a car or another place where you know you will use it often. I tested it while the AC was on, and in idle, and I was disappointed to see that it used about 1% of capacity, every 10-15 minutes. I didn't do the math on it, but it leads me to believe that its inverter uses a lot of power in idle for such a small unit. Which is totally ok because after all, you won't be leaving this item on while not in use. However I think it's efficiency may be lower than average, meaning you will be getting a lot less ACTUAL power than advertised. And I still think that's ok because I use it often, and I recharge it often (I actually keep it topped off), but it's something you should know. ... show more

  • Good enough portal power station, definitely not for large device use.
Color: 146Wh/100W Solar Generators(Black & ...
First off, I just want to preface this with one "weird thing" that happened while using this device. I plugged the solar panel in to the power station, put them both outside in direct sunlight, and left it there for about 12 hours (part of it was overnight because I forgot it was outside). The following day I went out and grabbed both of these (in the rain) and the battery bank was still at the same battery percentage (74%) as when I first put it outside. I'm not sure if I put it in a bad place for sunlight or if the rain affected anything with this (it still worked and turns on and everything even after being outside in the rain overnight) but I was pretty disappointed it wasn't at least above 90% when I checked it the following day. Anyways, as for the actual use of this device. 40W solar panels are pretty good but they make solar panels that go up to 200W now so 40W is really a slow charging panel in this day and age. It works fine I think and I think in the conditions I used it in it didn't work well because of other factors like clouds and rain and positioning, but just something to keep in mind. The actual design of the solar panels is really nice, they fold up for storage super easily, feel very strong and durable, and this includes a variety of cords and adapters so you can use this power station with other charging sources as well. The power station itself feels.... not as great. It's much smaller than I thought it would be, it doesn't have any rubber feet or anything on the bottom (there is a place where it looks like rubber feet should have been placed to keep this better held in place and off the ground, but theres's nothing there, just a section in the plastic where it seems like feet would have gone) so this just sits directly on the ground totally flat which I don't love. Other than that the whole case is pretty much just plastic with a handle, it feels very cheap and not super heavy or durable honestly, but for this price that's kind of to be expected. All in all I think this is a fine backup battery for power outages or for use in emergencies or camping where once it runs out if you need extra juice you can plug it in to charge outside using the solar panels, but other than that there aren't a ton of use cases for this. I know for me, this is just going to sit in the basement never getting used (we don't really camp that much or travel or anything) until eventually some kind of emergency situation occurs and we're without power, and then I'll keep this nearby to charge things if needed. Overall I give this a 8/10, kind of recommend. There's nothing super wrong with it and I didn't really have any major cons, plus I love the design of the solar panels, but I think the power station itself leaves a little bit to be desired, even though it's kind of still good enough for the price. ... show more
